If I could give a Zero star rating I definitely would for this place. Some guy named Joe at this auto shop is one of the most rude individuals I have ever met. I went over to the shop to ask for a quote on my car which is currently out of commission. I saw Joe standing there doing nothing talking to some other random guy smoking a cigarette. I proceeded to wait till he was done talking to the guy and then told him I have so and so car and I wish to get these repairs done on it would you be able to run me a quote by any chance. He proceeds to say no way right in my face and tells me to get out. I was baffled because who talks to a customer that way. I then asked him if there was anyone else inside who would be able to run me a quote he said no and told me to leave though I didn't even do anything all I wanted was a quote. Then he starts pointing to the cars in the shop saying do you see how busy I am. (I didn't know smoking a cigarette makes you busy) but anyways I explained to him once again that I'm not dropping the car off right now I just want a quote but he continues to say no get out. I'm not sure what was the matter with this individual but I definitely don't recommend going to this guy ever nor will I ever be returning to him unless it's to speak with his manager and getting him fired.

Had my window broken for the first time and they were able to replace it and clean up the glass within a few hours at a reasonable price. They even took the time to talk through insurance with me. Will be going back when it happens next time!

I’ve been a customer at H & L for over 15 years. I absolutely will not go elsewhere for my car. Joe is awesome! And so are all the staff. Born and raised in SF, this shop has old school ethics that are hard to find. I highly recommend H & L auto.

Someone stole my brand new Motorola Moto g stylus did they just purchased 2 days ago and they sold it to someone at the auto repair shop. also I met someone else who had the same thing happen to them a little more than a week ago. There is definitely someone buying stolen goods at this auto repair shop during closed hours. Having the police look into it!

I have been taking my car here for 15+ years! I have refused, for a long time, to take my car anywhere else. I had to once, last year, take it somewhere closeby (I live outside San Francisco), and deeply regretted it! I trust Steven 110%, and credit him with why my car is still on its original clutch! He sometimes even talks me out of services because they aren't necessary. I couldn't recommend a place more highly!

My car was broken into and the passenger side window was smashed. I discovered this on a Saturday morning and of course called my insurance company. They referred me to an auto glass repair place that wouldn't be able to get me in for two weeks. With the amount of driving I do, there's no way I could have waited that long. H & L Auto came to my rescue. They accepted my insurance rate. Not only that, I had a small window of time to pick up a rental car the same day, so I drove into the city with a ton of broken glass still in my car. They fixed my window and cleaned up the glass, even though I didn't ask them to clean up the glass, they just did it. They got the repair done in one day, over the weekend. I had my car back by Monday. They are awesome.

They completely refused to talk to me. I walked in, said hi, and they just said "no" and looked away. Literally the worst customer experience I've ever had.
