I love my 2008 VW R32, but it's ALWAYS been very slow-cranking...and I've had it for 5 years. (Recently, I even had to get a jump-start.) Several times, I'd asked the VW dealership to check into this, and the dealership could never find the cause. I'd had the dealership change the hi-amp fuses and the battery, but for various reasons I quit going to the VW service center two years ago. I was trying to fix this issue when I asked German Auto Center to put a new alternator on the car. But Bert offered to diagnose what the dealership could not...and he identified the problem that same day. It was a just faulty battery cable, and he saved me a lot of money by simply changing the cable. If I had installed a new alternator, I'd still have the problem...and I'd be out a lot of money. Now, the car starts up better than it EVER has--and it sounds just like a new car. I'm really glad I listened to Bert!

Been taking my Audi here for the past couple years and I’ve had nothing but good experiences. They give it to you straight and don’t try to nickel and dime you like the dealership does. The labor fees are competitive and dare I say “cheap” considering the quality of service they provide

Do yourself a favor and avoid this shop! They have absolutely terrible customer service. I dropped off my car at 9 am in the shop for just a battery change. The front desk woman told me it’s only takes couple of hours which makes sense since it’s only a battery change. I called them at 2pm since I never heard about them and she told me, she’ll check and get back to me but she never did. So I called again at 3pm and someone else picked up the phone and told me it’s gonna be ready by 4pm and I need to pick it up by 4:59pm when they close the shop. At this point it’s 4:30pm and I have not heard from them so I call back again and the same front desk girl picks up the phone and tells me she needs to check and call me back. I asked her please put me on hold because last time she didn’t call me back. A minute later she tells me the are still working on my car but should be ready in a few minutes. So I rush to the shop before they close. When I get there, I complained that she told me my car will be ready in couple of hours but it’s been 8 hrs and my car is still not ready. She with an attitude tells me that no I told you “ 2 HOURS FROM WHEN WE START WORKING ON YOUR CAR”!!!! Never taking my car there again even for battery change

The German Auto Center has once again provided great customer service! My car was experience a slow crank to start and with a short trip to Julian upcoming within 24 hours had replaced my battery, provided an oil/filter change and done a diagnosis on our 16 year old MB C300. The car ran like new. Thanks German Auto Center, you did it again. Tom

Bert and his team always go above and beyond with their service. When my "new" (new to me) car had a problem, Bert did extensive research. They also diagnosed possible issues before they could become trouble. All this at a fair price.

I really needed my brakes fixed and they were fixed in a timely manner. My car is driving much better. I love how they would communicate with me exactly what was wrong with the car and I love that they understood my urgency to doing this in a quickly manner. I only had to keep my car there for 1 night. I appreciate everything at this auto shop and I just add everyone I met from a to z was so friendly and professional.

I just took my car in to German Auto Center who I feel is one of the more reputable repair shops in the industry. What I recently noticed was how much more efficient the experience is making it so easy to drop off and know when your car will be ready. I've referred them to many and will continue to do so.

I can’t recommend these guys enough, they’re super professional and easy to work with and they do a great job. They quickly diagnosed and fixed a fuel leak in my Volkswagen Touareg and communicated clearly the whole way through. I’ll definitely be going back here if I have any future issues

1st time using this auto center. Was looking for some place new to service our 2000 Mercedes E55. The service representative, Bert, was extremely knowledgeable about our vehicle. Thought the ABS and brake assist malfunctions we were seeing were going to be an expensive front brake repair. It turned out just to be a bad battery. Brakes were fine. They could have easily taken advantage but didn't. Would highly recommend them.

BEST SHOP ON THE WEST COAST, Hands DOWN! I have come to this business TWICE now in dire need of service for my 2006 c280 4matic and they have identified, isolated and serviced my vehicle in a fast, efficient, timely Manner and brought my car back to life using authentic Mercedes Benz parts. This shop has given me more bang for my buck and 100% honesty and clarity of where the problem was, how they intend to remedy it and what my money was getting me. I've gotten my spark plugs, airbag light, emissions and smog test, O2 sensors, complete driveshaft replacement, and fuel pump replaced here. These guys are European car WIZARDS. I am in the Navy and have an unreasonable schedule and they still made time and space for myself and my vehicle. The customer service was 100% amazing, welcoming, family friendly environment with smiles and integrity. Id recommend this shop to anyone in the SoCal area and beyond. I will not be taking my car to anywhere else or future vehicles as long as they are around. Bert and Heather made me feel assured and safe with my car in this shops hands.

Bert and Team are the best! They take care of our VW Touareg and plug-in Mini Cooper Countryman. Had to replace the engine in the Cooper due to water damage. We did not think it would be as good as before, but it's as good as new!

Called to see if they could fix a older w208 a project car instead of getting a regular reply yes or no, The owner or mechanic just told me how old the car was after I told him a few times the car was a project an not a daily so unprofessional this place. I will take my money elsewhere wanted to get a lot done before I deployed very bad experience with this place.

I found Bert and his team to be honest, knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They were able to accommodate me on very short notice. I was given a detailed description of the work to be done, in advance. The breakdown of services on the invoice was very clear and payment was easily made online. The overall cost for regular service and repairs was reasonable. Now that my Porsche is out of warranty, I’m glad that I’ve found a local and reliable service center. I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing!! Took my car in for a blown turbo and unfortunately other issues. Excellent service from start to finish, fast turn around, fair pricing. Bert their master mechanic explained every thing to me (more then once because I had a billion questions, lol) and knows his stuff!! Highly recommend!

MB 350 Nav and camera system was totally non-functional and Bert and the crew fixed it! Great service. Hard to get in - you have to wait because they are so popular- but totally worth it. A Point Loma treasure!
