I took my car here on the recommendation of some friends who used this service. Although they specialize in Honda's, I took my Ford Focus in which they let me know they'd take a look at anyways. They said they'd run diagnostics for me for $130 but if they can fix it, they'd waive the diagnostic fee. They were really friendly and let me know everything up front!

Full disclosure, I am not a paying customer so this review comes straight from a phone conversation. I just called this business to get a quote for a repair. The lady who answered the phone said she was too busy to give me one. This seems odd, but regardless of how busy a business is, it should be a common courtesy to answer any inquiries. The ratings for this business seem decent and perhaps they do great work, but if a business drops the ball from the beginning they may leave a lot of chips on the table. I am open to updating my review in the future.

I had to put in my 2 cent after reading a very bad review. I no longer go to Ben because I moved away 4 years ago. But I started going to genuine tech in 2000 after buying 2 new honda accords for my daughters. One of their boyfriends recommended Ben. The best decision i have ever made regarding my cars is going to him. I have purchased 4 more honda and acura cars since then just because I wanted Ben to take care of my vehicles. Sitting in his shop waiting for my car I have witnessed many many people come for service and repairs. Without any doubt I can describe their operation. First, Ben is totally honest, fair, and readably priced. I really think he is so much smarter than any honda or acura dealership. And I believe his very reasonable pricing is because he can diagnose the problem from your description of what's wrong and do the repair in shorter time. Thats my experience. One thing that sets him apart from other good mechanics-he is more concerned with helping his customers than making money. That's why he has so many repeat customers. I never asked for any discounts because Ben over the years has saved me much money and headaches and gives great advice, such as directing me to the dealer when the problem he found was under warranty and not charge me for the diagnosis. I want to thank Ben the main mechanic for his honesty and great work he does every time his worked on my cars. He is honest and doesn't push you to do any another work then need it on your vehicle. I also thank him for working on my Ford F150 even tho he only Specializes in Honda, Accura & Toyota vehicles. I have been coming here for many years. He is the best and honest mechanic in the Inland Empire. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Ben

Nowadays, it’s hard to find an honest mechanic. This used to be the case with this shop. It’s actually a mom and pop shop, but a very dirty and disorganized one at that. I don’t know why they don’t advertise maybe because word of mouth sees them through but the place hygienically? It should be shut down by a state inspector. It is past the point of filthy. But you don’t go to a mechanic to hang out in the lobby of luxury. It’s faaar from a dealership. You go there because you’re supposed to be offered a way better price than dealership hourly rates. This used to be the case with this mom and pop shop but not anymore. Everything is singularly charged. They don’t give quotes to you even on paper after a certain amount of time. The rude receptionist needs to go to Customer Service school and be taught how to be polite to customers whether they call in or email or text or regular snail mail or even in person. I got my cart tuned up there three weeks ago and she was constantly on her cell phone playing games and is not professional whatsoever I think the owner used to do most of the work, but now he has another mechanic (probably illegal) do all the grunt work. There’s another female in there that’s older and she may answer the phone when she feels like, takes care of orders and parts and is supposed to call customers back. My friends have told me that she doesn’t call customers back so they lose business but what do they care? They feel they’re doing OK especially before, during and after the pandemic. My friend say that the shop has changed, AND they’re just as expensive as the dealer and what a shame to now be able to rip people off due to greed. I give this filthy shop 2 stars because the owner/mechanic does know at least hey USED to know what he’s talking about when it comes to foreign motors as his business cards do say that they are experts in Honda/Acura but once a true mechanic learns their craft? They can work on ANY foreign motor Japanese or not. my buddy says he sees Hyundai as well as Toyota as well as Lexus cars in the past My son and other family WILL NO LONGER be going there anymore. It’s WWAAAAAY too expensive, way too filthy and old business and new business actually is not appreciated any longer. But like they old saying goes: what goes around, comes around. Customers do not have to accept the abuse and the outright disrespect from their staff. They should say what they mean and mean what they say but they don’t but one day I feel it will catch up to them for a private and filthy shop to become as expensive or more expensive than a dealership is outrageous. And you’re not allowed to ask an opinion about this, or that, because the mechanic seems to be irritated when you ask for your own personal sake/knowledge. My buddies have told me that in the past they were able to bring in their own parts but somebody’s there stopped at practice and it’s not a matter of them, making a profit from it… It’s just That other rude, non-hygienic female in there tends to change their supposed policies at will and that’s not how you run the business it’s most unprofessional. Thank God I found a local mechanic in Moreno Valley if I have to drive a little further to San Bernardino, I will because it’s not just about getting my car fixed at an honest rate… It’s about the whole Customer Service experience. Genuine Tech is for the birds. They were probably good back in their day, but not anymore. So customers? BEWARE. I will be taking my Acura and Toyota elsewhere.

Ben is amazing. Reliable, quick, charges reasonably and I couldn’t have been happier he helped me. I was having problems with my honda accord, trying to get help for a couple of days until I decided to give Genuine Tech’s a call. I know of this place from reference and it did not disappoint. 2 days before thanksgiving, I call Ben and he has me tow it in to work on the same hour and I get it back before closing time. Amazing work, he went the extra mile. Thank you Ben!

I took my Dodge pickup to Ben on the recommendation of a friend after being told by the Dodge dealer mechanic that my differential to drive shaft seal was leaking. The dealer wanted $1,200 to replace the seal. Ben checked the truck and assured me there was no leak. He saved me $1,200 and refused to accept any payment for the time he took to check the truck. I have taken my truck and family sedan there for service every since and always get great service.

I've taken two of my cars here for multiple services. Alternator replacement, air conditioning compressor replacement, radiator pump and other things too. They've always done good work at a fair price. The first time I went it was because a dealership quoted me $1200. I got a second opinion here...$75. Have been a customer ever since.

This shop is one of the only Mechanics in Riverside that is completely honest. I've lived in Riverside for almost entire life and I've had three mechanics over the course of my life that each one retiring, selling their shop, and basically having to find another mechanic because the new owners never compare to the original one. Genuine Tech has become my families third main mechanic and only mechanic. The owner is a VERY GENEROUS, HONEST, HARDWORKING elderly Asian American who right off the bat will qoute you for the absolute lowest price that he can charge for both parts and labor!! He does not force repairs on you or over exaggerate issues with your car! This shop is timely and understanding that you might need your car to get to and from work and understanding that being without it is an inconvenience to you. I have an old 92 Toyota Tercel that leaks, burns oil, but over all is a GREAT little car. I knew that my leaked and burned oil when I bought it. What I didn't know was that the throttle was completely open and that the two specific leaks were pretty significant. The owner immediately told me that one of the leaks because of where it was behind the timing belt almost at the base of my engine was going to be labor intensive and the cost would be high in comparison to the price I paid for the car and therefore not be worth it to me to fix. He never once told me that the car wouldn't work or that I HAD to get this fixed instead he started me away from getting the repair. I then asked him about the second leak because I wanted to if possible, make my car leak less oil. He qouted me an extremely reasonable price for the part, and said it would only take an hour to fix so the labor was very cheap as well. He also adjusted the throttle back to a safe level for daily driving for FREE!!! He then told me the part he'd have to order and that my car was safe to drive and that I could come pick it up because I would need it until the part arrived. At which time he would call me and I would swing in sit for an our while the repair was done and then get money back because he charged a deposit the order of the part!!! I LOVE GENUINE TECH and my family will be taking all of our cars to this shop!! From my old Toyota, to a 2018 Suburu Forester, a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, a 2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz. All of these Vehicles have been serviced in a cost efficient, professional, and timely manner rivaled by no other shop in Riverside County!!!! If you're looking for a mechanic that you can trust without a doubt and rely on as if the owner was your own family member.... then Genuine Tech should be at the top of your list!!!
