I called Steve on a Sunday morning and asked if he can look at my 2006 Chevy Silverado brake line leaking issue he could look at it in an hour, bring it in. Went to the local Auto zone got the parts, Done in a reasonable time frame. Steve is polite and attention to detail about his work he makes sure before you leave, it is safe to drive on the road. Highly recommend! Thank you

I was in the city for a few days, and unfortunately, my car breaks locked up. Steve, the owner, took extremely good care of me and fixed the issue really quickly and affordable!

Mr Gentz is an amazing human being, with a great personality and sunny disposition, very friendly and kind, also he is an excellent mechanic. The best!!! We broke down during a road trip, on a Sunday, during a holiday weekend, it was a miracle that he was working that day, and even more so that he agreed to help us 20 minutes before closing, and worked on our car overtime. He made us feel lucky and fortunate, despite our challenging situation at the time, truth is, we were, we had to postpone our trip, and it saved us from a snow storm up north where we were going, plus it gave us a chance to meet him, he saved our car, and we made a great friend (want to adopt him as family). Thank you!!! May you live 100 years more Mr Gentz, the world needs more humans like you. I agree with the 5 star reviews below, above and beyond ...and over the moon.

I was visiting in St. Louis when I noticed a loud noise from my left front wheel. I looked online for an auto mechanic who was near the area I was going. That mechanic was Steve Gentz. I called him and explained my predicament. He said to bring it in and he would look at it immediately. He quickly found the problem and told me how much the repair would cost. He could have charged me an enormous amount and I would have had no choice but to pay it. Instead, he gave me a huge discount on the parts and was extremely reasonable on the labor. He had me back on the road quickly. Thank you, Steve Gentz for your kindness and efficiency. If I lived in St. Louis, I would have Gentz Auto and Boat do ALL my automotive repairs.

This is my first ever Google review but this man is an absolute legend!!! He was willing to see us without an appointment on a Saturday while we were in from out of town and our car started making weird noises. He looked at our car and drove it around the block, re-filled our power steering fluid, found that the issue was our AC but said that it would be $1,500 to fix it and our car is old and not worth it. He is fair, nice, and knows his stuff. Exactly the kind of person you want looking at your car, I would not go anywhere else if I lived in St. Louis!!!

This review is long overdue. Steve helped us on Sep 20-21 when we were stranded in St. Louis due to a trailer axle issue. He not only worked after his regular hours when everyone else in town turned us away but went above and beyond the call of duty to get us going again on our journey. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and made our issue a sense of urgency. Can't thank you enough Steve for the incredible service. :)

Gentz auto is the place to go if you need work done on your car or boat. They are very good mechanic and know what they are doing, they explained what the problem was in very fine detail and they do the job right the first time, the pricing is very fair. You cant ask for a better place. I haven't been to a place like this, the mechanic i have gone to around town over charge and dont do the job right the first time.. 10/10 you won't find a better place
