Outstandingly good transmission specialists here. Took my 30 year old car in when I had a line fail badly and was expecting a rebuild at minimum, if not complete replacement. To my surprise they indicated they could get parts all the way up to a new transmission despite my vehicle's age. Fortunately we did not have to go this route, I got lucky and they found no issues with the transmission so just fixed the line, repaired an issue with a motor mount, and refilled before sending me on my way. They have a well earned reputation for honesty, they could easily have told me I needed an entirely new transmission and I'd just have accepted it but they seem to actually care about saving their customers money when possible. To top off the wonderful experience, a couple weeks later I had another small transmission fluid leak and they found it to be due to a faulty seal on the pan, repaired and refilled and charged me....*drum roll*...ZERO dollars. I was beyond impressed and more than a little shocked that they charged me nothing for the repair.

Stopped in to have my transmission assessed to see if it needed work. After a test drive I was assured that everything was good and the altitude would rob me of some horsepower. They could have said I needed work and took my money because I was an out of towner. They seem very trustworthy and I would go back if I'm ever in this region again.

So my family and I were on a vacation to Yellowstone when our Honda CRV developed a serious vibration in the drive train. It became so bad that we could only drive about 30 mph. Gateway Transmission said they could check it out and Ed Coey, the owner, was able to accurately diagnose that it was a CV joint/drive axle, not the transmission, just by driving it. They didn’t have a lift open until after the weekend but on Monday they got me in and showed me the issue. They kindly worked me in in order to get my family back on the road again. They were kind and professional and with lots of experience and knowledge. I would highly recommend them. The receptionist was most kind and courteous and they were very reasonably priced as well. It was a tremendously positive experience dealing with them and we are so grateful for their professional service. If you have any transmission or drive train issues I trust you will not be disappointed going to this place.

The transmission went out on our sons car and we had it towed to Gateway transmission. I spoke with Heidi throughout the whole process of them diagnosing it, to ordering us a new transmission, and to getting it in the shop very quickly. Great communication and service! Highly recommend them!

Did a good job on my pan gasket. Although they left an airline to the Intake unplugged causing 2 engine codes for lean fuel immediately after leaving their shop though. Must have unplugged it to fill my transmission with the new fluid and forgot to reconnect it.

Blew up my front differential on the way back from Missoula on my 02 Dakota. Ed and Co. were able to swap in a good rebuilt differential (due to no new parts availability). Not only did they fix everything ahead of schedule but they came in WAY under budget and took consideration to replace my ball joints and CV axles without billing additional labor. All of this in less time than it took me to replace my rear differential fluid. Really just phenomenal service from gateway, wouldn't go anywhere else for drivetrain service.

Missions to gateway transmission for year years and I've never had any problem with them that is a 100% great transmission technician he had to repair the wiring harness on my Dodge truck and it did it with the ease and fix the truck up wonderful it works perfect now thank you gateway transmission

Ten year ago, my transmission was replaced on a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. I live in Colorado and was visiting my sister in Bozeman. These guys made a difficult situation into an enjoyable outcome. My Trailblazer is still running well and the transmission replacement is still going strong.

Highly recommend. Had a truck with 336k miles that stopped shifting. Many shops were scared to touch that old of a transmission, and recommended complete rebuild. Gateway properly diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed with a $39 solenoid. Great service, value and communication

The folks at Gateway Transmission were fantastic. I called a handful of other transmission shops and mechanics trying to get my truck in and they got me in the day of and diagnosed the next day. The staff was so friendly and informative. I'll definitively be coming here for all my future transmission needs!

Wanted to wait a week and see how things settled in with my transmission. Had absolutely nothing to worry about! Was experiencing intermittent shifting issues with my 2015 F250. Called and spoke to Marjorie who had general concern for my issues, and solutions to correct them. She got me in touch with Ed who quickly diagnosed the problem. These two squeaked my truck in with short notice to address the issue and take the worry off my shoulders. This place did a truly outstanding job working with my tight schedule. It would be my first call if I was in the Bozeman area again and was experiencing transmission problems. Just a great group of people with a willingness to take care of you.
