I never leave reviews as I prefer to minimize my internet presence, but: Gary's Auto Repair is worth leaving a review for. I've taken multiple cars to them over the years and always felt safe and confident doing so. Gary, Jacob, and Michelle are exceptionally lovely and kind people who run a business the way it should be run: honestly and efficiently. They always openly share information, show and explain failed parts every time, and are willing to answer any questions. I could not ask for more and am so grateful to have found this shop. I will continue to give Gary's Auto Repair my business and refer the shop to others.

Hard to find a good mechanic. No one is perfect, but Gary's is a good place to take your car. They helped me out with something another mechanic wasn't willing/able to

The shop is excellent. Clear communication in what the issues are and give you the options, they stick to given timelines, and keep you updated along the way. all work they did for me was done quickly and correctly the first time, and they are really nice. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll be back here anytime I need auto work done. Thank you!

I won’t take my car or my daughter’s car anywhere else. Michelle and Jacob are honestly two of the best people I have ever met. They have been nothing but honest and considerate. Even when things have not gone well - my daughter’s engine died (nothing they could do), they did everything they could to help me work through the situation and make it less stressful. Incredibly trustworthy and honest. Two rare characteristics these days!

Bill over at Gary's automotive is a good guy. He has been working on my car over the last few years. They have reasonable rates and its situated right by Mt Scott, Happy valley. Right on 92nd near the Johnson creek exit of 205.

I started going to Gary’s at the suggestion of my dad, a long-time customer. This was after I bounced around between Jiffy Lubes and the like, never leaving satisfied with the work or prices. I just stopped in today, worrying that my car was falling apart on me. They were empathetic and professional, got the work done promptly and— a big one for me as a single income head of household— they never tried to upcharge me or try to twist my arm into having more work done. Excellent service out of an excellent shop 👍

I've taken all my vehicles to Gary over the years and being a woman that can be a challenge. However, Gary let me know what was wrong and given a fair price. Michelle knows her stuff too. I highly recommend this business....

I recently had to replace the computer for the transmission in my car. That cost around $800. The transmission shop told me that my car needed more than $4,000 worth of other work as well. I told them that I'd take it to my regular mechanic for the rest of the work. Gary's Auto Repair just called me with a quote for the extra work: $540. That's why I continue going to Gary even though he's in Portland, and I had to take three public buses to get home. He never overcharges me or tells me that I need work when I don't. I'm so glad that I didn't have to spend all my savings on my car!

I went to Gary's with a serpentine belt that was squealing whenever I started the car or made a sharp turn. They tightened my belt which fixed the issue, then didn't even charge for the labor! Free service, can't get any better than that! I know other mechanics would at least charge for the time! Thank you Gary's!!!
