Had a brake problem with my 1999 Buick Lesabre while travelling to Bozeman after 2 quotes from other shops that just wanted to replace parts, Chris and his team properly diagnosed the problem, and it turned out to be a bad master brake cylinder. The final price, quality of work and parts used was heads and heels above the competition (including using NAPA parts with a limited lifetime warranty). The fact they had next day availability saved our whole trip and we were able to complete the trip as planned and return home safely. Thanks again Chris and team!

They did a 100,000 mile inspection for my 2016 Ford Escape. They fixed my mistakes working on it, and they provided an honest inspection with suggested work coupled with quotes. They even gave me some advice for problems to fix myself. Will definitely come back here!

The service was great! I called on a Monday and was able to get in on Wednesday. Once they found the issue. They talked through the options and was able to do the work on the low end of the estimate. If you want quality work at a fair price and great customer service then Foster's MasterTech is the place to go.

Delivered a 2015 land rover to Foster's on Christmas Eve. Was unable to speak to anybody as they were closed for the holiday, left my vehicle there and rented a car to head home to Minnesota. Chris at Foster's did an amazing job diagnosing the vehicle, fixing it, all at a reasonable price. This was a more difficult job as there were three issues including a corroded ground strap, a failed master fuse block, and a degraded battery. The team diagnosed the problems methodically and accurately. Highly recommend!

Foster's has repaired my Tahoe on two separate occasions. I have found the folks at Fosters to be very professional and honest. They took the time to clearly explain the work needed and gave upfront pricing. Both times they repaired my vehicle the same day. I highly reccommend them.

Not particularly impressed. I brought in my 2015 jeep grand Cherokee for a P0304 error (cylinder 4 misfire). I had replaced all the coil packs, spark plugs, and fuel injector on cylinder 4. I just moved and hadn’t unpacked my torque wretch, so I only hand tightened the spark plugs. Running the car in the driveway, it still had the error. So I drove it down to Master Techs and told them the issues. They told me I should change the spark plugs (again), they tried to tell me to change to coil packs because they said they should not come apart (which isn’t correct because they sell the coil and pack separately). They said the new fuel injector was bad, so they replaced that too. They charge me $1,000 for this. I had also dropped two nuts that held on the intake manifold. I had asked them to replace them. They replaced one, and when I asked for the second the younger tech tied to tell me that the bracket never had or doesn’t need the nut (like why argue this?). When I picked up the car they said the engine code was gone, but when I turned on the engine I got the pending code. I took the jeep to the dealership and they did a compression test (master tech said they did one too). The dealership found an issue and took the engine apart. They found that the rocker arm on cylinder 4 was bad. There is a class action lawsuit about the rocker arm on the 3.6L engine. If the fix/diagnosis was above the ability of Master Tech, they should have just told me so instead of guessing and charging me $1,000 while not actually fixing the issue. I also pointed out that the fuel injector electrical connection was damaged. They argued with me on the phone saying it was fine. The dealership spotted that immediately.

Such a great experience! The owner is so nice, their team is so communicative, honest, and easy to understand (they speak "car repairs for dummies"), and have such fair prices! They listened to my descriptions of what I thought was wrong, offered services to figure out what was going on, and then affordable solutions to what needed fixed! Will absolutely use them again!

These guys got my car in the week I called, and quickly looked at it determining what I thought was the issue was not causing the problem. Unfortunately they weren’t able to do any work on my rear differential, but they did not charge me for the diagnosis. These guys are good people.

This is NOT a place that tries to upsell repairs and sell you something you don't need - they are very honest and upfront about your repairs and they have 'always'delivered what they promised! In town on vacation when a brake problem arose. Our host recommended Foster's. They squeezed me in and diagnosed and repaired by noon. Explained all options and pricing and found a second problem easily fixed. Great service and communication.

I’ve gone to this place many times, every time they are so kind and generous. Last year, I was getting something fixed on my car. I called and the guy gave me an estimate of what it would cost. After they fixed my car, the total was higher than the price I received. With no doubt, he trusted what I was telling him and brought the price down to what they told me before. I went there yesterday as well for a check up on my car. After they checked it, it was going to be a hefty bill of 1,600 of repairs for next time. That is with them not charging me for something they fixed last year that was under warranty and trying to save me the most amount of money. I was supposed to pay 100 or so for them checking it out yesterday but he said don’t worry about it. I asked him why and he said your going to have lots of expenses when you come back to get it fixed. Being a girl and not knowing everything about cars, this place is so trust worthy and reliable! Best company!

Our daughter was finishing her last rotation for physical therapy school in Bozeman and we (her parents) live in Idaho. Her Ford Explorer started making horrible noises in the rear end, and after having Les Schwab change the rear wheel bearing hub assembly, there was still a noise. They recommended that our daughter take it to a mechanic to have them see if they could tell exactly what was still wrong. She called at least 4 mechanics in Bozeman, and Chris at Foster's MasterTech was very helpful and could get her in within a week (all of the others were at least two weeks out) to assess what was going on. So she took her vehicle there. After much driving and checking things out, Chris called us and took a lot of time to explain thoroughly all of the things he had checked and what he thought the issue was. He wasn't even going to charge us for looking at the vehicle (I was going to pay him something anyway). I asked him for a quote to replace the differential, and he called back right away with a quote and all of the details on warranty, etc. Because of all of the shipping issues still going on, Chris explained that it would probably take at least 2 weeks for the part to come in, that he couldn't guarantee exactly how long the part would take (which we understood......that wasn't his fault), but that he would immediately get to work on replacing it as soon as the part came in (our daughter was going to be done and needed to drive back home by a certain date that was about 2 weeks out by that time). He also explained in great detail about how our daughter should be driving the car in the meantime (while waiting for the part; such as keeping the speed way down, not driving on the freeway, etc.). Chris called and checked in periodically to let me know what was going on. About 1 1/2 weeks later, the part came in early, and Chris did get her vehicle in right away and had it fixed in plenty of time for her to be able to go home when she needed to. Chris went above and beyond to try to get our issue resolved, which we really appreciated, especially with us being so far away. His communication, helpfulness, and empathy through the whole process were so much more than most businesses do now. It is so great to know that there are still reliable, trustworthy businesses out there that also care about an individual and what they are actually going through. We can't say thank you enough to Chris and his wife, Robin, for all they did to help us through a stressful time and ease our mind for our daughter's safety.

I've been to Foster's MasterTech multiple times and I have found them to be very trustworthy. Most recently I took my Volkswagen in for a check engine light that occured after a slightly delayed oil change. They couldn't diagnose the problem (because as it turns out, there wasn't one) and did not throw parts at it. They didn't charge me at all for the visit, gave excellent advice, and recommended a couple of specialty shops for my car. After the reset, the light never returned. I highly recommend Foster's MasterTech.

My 15 year old car started having a slow oil leak a couple of months ago. I was pretty sure my oil plug had been stripped. I called and FMT and they were able to get me in within a week. Rather than replacing my whole oil pan, they were able to drill out my oil pan and replace the threads. No more leak and a pretty reasonable priced repair for a 15 year old car! I'll definitely be going back if I need a repair in the future.

I took my Nissan Xterra to these guys recently and could not be more pleased. They were professional, transparent about their abilities, and very fair on pricing.
