Brought my car in, hoping for some simple conversation about my tire problems and an engine check up. There was a miscommunication regarding price, but Chris and Gerald honorably took accountability and remedied the situation. The vibe from the manager was not good, and I would advise everyone to read their paperwork carefully before signing (or not signing). This is your reminder in life that that everything is negotiable.

Friendly, courteous, usage coupons, fee negotiable, labor cost high, overall they are fee competive in the short period of time that I sought thier car services. It's good to know their affiliates: Tire Works, Tire Plus, etc. I do recommend that if it's a major repair consult with a car dealer due to labor fees.

Gerald was really rude over the phone, I was trying to get about $600 worth of work done and his unprofessional tone and attitude made me take my money elsewhere. I had called a couple days ago and was gonna make an appointment with a much nicer lady but got caught up with work and I’m glad I did so my money can go to a better shop!

I needed a tire because I had a flat on the freeway and didn’t have a spare. I was towed in around 4:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday and they stayed open to accommodate me even though it was almost closing time.

Store manager Greg Williams at 2850 Broadway, Oakland, CA is an absolute horror to deal with. He is flippant and rude. I had to tell him off and file an official complaint against him with Firestone head office. And it wasn't just me, he was the same with a customer before me and his co-worker. And it wasn't that he was having a bad day. He was like this last year as well. Instead, ask for Gerald. He's a great guy and knowledgeable. Inspection prices at Firestone are reasonable, that's why I come here. Kao is a knowledgeable mechanic, ask for him if you need deep work done. And to upper management if you're reading this, give the customer their full vehicle inspection report. I had to waste an hour trying to get mine because they couldn't print or email it, instead, I had to take photos of their tablet.

Terrible service. Comically slow. Rude. Made an appointment on a monday to change 1 tire. That got bumped to Tuesday. I was told to bring it at 12 on tuesday which i did. After 5 hours they still had not changed the tire. I called back to check on it and I was hung up on three separate times. After i told them that they lost my business they flat out laughed at me. This is a nightmare of a store. I know customer service is hard but damn these guys suck.

Gerald was very helpful and makes the face to face interaction of the tire experience comfortable and confident that the work is going to be done right. Technically after my work was complete, my car ran 100% smoother. No road noise. The Firestone tires put on my car are so quiet, I do not hear ANY noise from the tires. I saw other customer interactions, and consistently, Gerald gives A++ recommendations and really helps the customers with quality tire service.

Showed up for a reservation to get some tires changed. Dude didn't have the reservation on the books, didn't have the tires in stock, and had closed the shop an hour prior to when I got there. Comically terrible tire shop. Wasted an hour of my life.

They do NOT deliver on their time promises. My wife made an appointment for 9am on Saturday for an oil change. They said it would be done 2 hours after dropping off. At 2:20 pm it’s done. No apology about the bad time estimate, except to say you should have waited for our call. For $120, Jiffy line would have done it for less and actually vacuumed the floor and cleaned the windows. They may be fine mechanics but don’t waste your time for oil changes or other small jobs that should be done in less than an hour. They don’t have the staff and they certainly give an accurate estimate for when any job will be finished. Other reviews say the same. Learn from our mistake and save yourself time and frustration.

They would fix it and give accurate estimates. So don't email them and don't go back for anything like an oil change. They'll just keep overbooking and making you wait without hiring additional staff. Perhaps they don't pay them enough, since I saw one review where the service person actually asked for a tip? Not good.

I just experienced a flat tire while driving on the freeway, so I came in without an appointment. The provided me a new tire because it was under warranty; however, I was there for almost three hours to replace ONE tire. The manager was even surprised to see me when he returned from lunch! The quality of the work is good, but the amount of time it took them to complete my simple job was just poor!

Gerald was very friendly and helpful, listened to my issues and helped me come up with a solution. He didn't have the exact tire I needed in the shop, and I couldn't wait for two days for it to come from the warehouse. So we found an alternative that works just fine.

Hours do not match what’s on the Firestone website for this location or Google maps. I made an appointment on the website for Sunday at 9AM. Appointment was confirmed via email a few days before so I have proof. I arrived a few minutes before 9 and the shop was closed, lights off, and no one around except another confused appointment holder who kept calling the number but no one answered. We waited half an hour before deciding to give up and leave. Why confirm an appointment if the shop is closed? At least send an email update. This is not professional and a waste of people’s time.

Had my car towed in to fix a flat. The man at the counter said "no, we can't fix it because the tread is too low. You need 2 tires, which will be $730." I took it to another shop and they said it was fine to fix and they charged me $30.

This location clearly can't handle the volume of work it schedules. I called on a Monday afternoon regarding a leaking tire and couldn't get in for service until Friday. Two tires and one erroneous invoice later, I'm going back in to check the alignment of the new tires. Ideally while I wait this time. Will add a new review when this issue is resolved. Am reluctant to drive children in this vehicle till I personally see work and tire pressure checked. Crazy it comes to this.

This Firestone lost a customer before I even made it through the door. I called and Gerald, who was extremely condescending, answered the phone. Apparently this guy is the Service Manager. He asked for my license plate number- i don't have it memorized. He was complaining that that was easier than typing in the whole VIN and seemed irritated that he had to plug in the VIN. After finally getting through that painful process, he gave me a quote which was less than what the online person quoted me. No problem. The problem was at the end of the call when he told me that I couldn't come in at 3:30 on 3-28, which was when my appointment was for. He told me 3 at the latest. I asked why I was allowed to make an appointment for after 3 if there was no availability. He went on to man-splain why which was bull. I told him i wasn't sure if i could make it by 3 due to work and would get back with them. About a half hour later, i received an email with an updated time of 3 o'clock- which i did not tell him was okay nor did i confirm. Playing games with customers before they're even in the door is the fastest way to lose business. I will be telling everyone I know in the area to stay away. If there is a District Manager reading this- pull up the phone call between Gerald and I which took place at 10:18AM on 3-27-24 and you will hear exactly what i'm talking about. Gerald is the definition of "good help is hard to find".

My car die on the driveway. AAA came for a jump start but suggest that I get my car charging system check, because it could be an alternator that need replacement? I always take my car to the Friestone for the last 30 yeras, since I am out of towner therefore I decided to stick with Firestone. Greg in Oakland Broadway suggest a $49 all charging system check but the technician didn't find any fault in the charging system, instead of charging me $49, Greg only charge me $10 for his technician time. I was there for 3 hours (i am from out of town and i need to wait for my service) i listen to everything Greg talk to his customers over the phone. he is very PPPP polite, patient, professonal and personal to all of the callers. He will do his best to save them money and offer them alternative but not short sell them on safety. Very niec guy!

The actual repair work was fine and I have a lifetime alignment policy and free tire rotation since I bought my tires at Firestone. I've been going to that Firestone location for many years for basic repairs and oil changes. However, I brought my car in at 10 am with an appointment (I took a bus home since they said the car would be ready about 3:00) and it was barely ready at 6:00 p.m. (just an alignment and rotation). When I called at 4:00 p.m. they told me it might not be done at all that day! Another woman there had brought her car in at 7:00 a.m. and we were both waiting at 6:00 p.m. it appears they overbooked their appointments all the time and even if you have an appointment you may or may not get your car the same day. This is a problem that the staff mentioned to us and that corporate is not addressing. They should be able to estimate the time for basic repairs and not overbook to such an extent. Scheduling and timely repair seems to be an ongoing problem.

I called to make an appointment this morning and was told to come on down for a 10:30 am slot. My car would be done at 1:30. I show up and there’s a lot of cars here. I call at 2:19 and find they haven’t even started on my car yet because they had to wait for a part for the car ahead of me. If that’s the case they should have started on the next car while waiting for the part. All I needed was an oil change and wheel alignment. I come back at 4:49 and the car is still not yet finished. If they were too bemuse to work on my car today they should have told me to come a different day. Not great with their scheduling! I was also told that 2 of my tires need replacing but I had just had them checked at another tire center and they told me those tires were fine. Not very happy with this Firestone location. Th ey are always late.
