Picked up a nail in a tire on a business trip into Columbia and needed immediate repair. Firestone was the closest shop to my flat and they were great. JAYDEN (tech) was prompt and professional with a great attitude and work ethic. Repaired the issue quickly. He is an asset and should be commended on his quick response and work done.

If I could give this a no star I would. Manager Tammy is avoiding our calls. I had a good experience and then an absolute worse experience. I arrived with a nail in my tire, they said the tire was cracked and that I would need 4 new tires. Exhausted and just wanting to make the 2 hour drive back in couple days safely I agreed. The guys stayed later than usual to accommodate the 4 new tire change. I left and my tire pressure light came on, I thought it may need a minute to recalibrate, I drove into downtown Columbia, parked in a garage and went to dinner, by the time I got back one tire was completely flat, unable to drive back to my hotel I left the car there. The next morning at 7am I got on to Tammy explained what happened, she first asked if I could get my insurance to tow it over, I said no, a tow truck can not get into this garage, she agreed to have their guys go over and change to the spare get the car to them and sort it out. I left my keys at the hotel and was promised text message updates as well as my Uber rides reimbursed By 1030am no update, and I am unable to get on to Tammy. By 130pm I get my husband to call and ask what was going on as I was working. I get a message from Tammy they can't find my car. They went to the hotel to look for it even though a detailed text was sent earlier that morning along with a pin of where the car was. Finally I get word that Tammy has gone down to the garage and pumped up the tire. I call her and she says the tire is pumped up but she can't drive it over to the shop and the keys are back at the hotel for me. Deep breath! I get an Uber from the convention center to my hotel, the keys are not there, they are at firestone. I get an Uber to the garage where the car is and wait 20 mins for the guys to come help change into the spare. I drive to firestone and get the tire changed. Tammy left for the day, my husband and I have been trying to call since as she is the regional manager we wanted to speak directly to her but we have been ignored. The lack of communication, the absolute disregard for my time and the stress it caused me all day, this was an issue that I felt could have been handled so much better and I want some sort of reimbursement, especially for the Uber rides up and down Columbia!

I went to fire stone for the great customer service but at this location there is none. They tried to sell me tires when i only asked for a alignment and wheels to be balance because I just had tires installed. I had to call the store because they failed to use the number that I left during my intake. Then the biggest this is I was charged for an alignment because I didn't want new tire just a balance and upon further inspection the alignment wasn't even preformed at all. The rude behavior that I was met with blew my mind! I will never use this location again and warn others because they will try to rail you.

I’m a delivery driver.On nov 1 the manager of Firestone Ms.tammy asks me to take back parts but me nodding my head yes instead of verbally say yes pissed her off. She then proceeds to demand me in a tone that was very rude, so when I declined to take the parts back she then pulls them off the shelf (6 automobile parts) and throw them at me hitting me on my ankle and foot.right infront of her employees (big,bad and so bold) so now we arguing back and forth she then starts yelling why are u still talking ( u hit me with parts and now u mad I’m still yelling) she then turns around full speed and run up on me now we face to face then next thing I know 2 employees and 2 mechanics are holding he back from wanting to fight me. Now police show up A.K.A.(Barney fife ) he starts minimizing what she did saying he doesn’t feel comfortable locking her up. But issued her an assault and battery Third degree. Get to court she want to pled guilty,Judge advise her not too now she’s crying like a baby laying the lies on thick, that I’m over exaggerating and that I’m the problem she says that I’m lying about nobody was holding her back and that she was not in my face, Now it’s time for the police officer to talk. He is minimizing again what she did.( I believe she knows that police officer)I said judge the police not telling everything I have paperwork the judge tells me he doesn’t want to see any police report just tell him what happened. Then he reminds her again that she under oath, then still crying she admits that she did throw the parts at me but she never took her eyes off the parts and that she made sure that they did hit me( on the police report it clearly says she admitted to throwing the parts in my general direction but didn’t mean to hit me. ( so u throw 6 boxes at someone and didn’t mean for any of them to connect) now she’s found guilty i ask the judge to send her to jail. He then asked her if she ever been to jail before she says no.( hard to believe with all that anger and evilness she got in her) he gives he a punk behind fine I have called personally a regional manager, a district manager and HR and corporate and nobody never gave me a call back. That has been a month and 10 days ago. all that crying, she was doing in the courtroom putting on for the court that how she’s a good nice person now less than a month later, I’m reading these reviews and seeing that she’s back at it again, fire stone doesn’t seem to care that their Manager Miss Tammy is a very evil, ,angry,and rude person. I would never give Firestone my business ever again

The completely over charged me. They broke a piece of my car while trying to fix it and made me pay for the repair cost. On top of that they never even fixed the issue I was there for in the first place. Go anywhere else. I made an appointment and they didn’t look at my car until the next day (I needed my car to drive my mother to the airport). They offered compensation but never applied it to my total. After driving my car for 6 hours it finally had enough and broke down on me. Even though it had never shown signs of it until after they “fixed” my issue.

Customer service was incredibly poor, tried to nearly double the price for a service that a friend had gone in for the week before (who I was with upon them being told the price and charged) who was charged much less than I would have been, very vague with details, clearly thought I didn't know anything about the cars and what needed to be fixed, lied about pricing ask compared to what was on the invoice

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Firestone Complete Auto Care (1738 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC) I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this Firestone location on Friday, November 29, 2024. I dropped off my car at 9:04 AM with Tammy, the store manager, to have two rear tires replaced. When I asked her when I could expect my car to be ready, she couldn’t give me a clear timeline, which should have been a red flag. By 3 PM, I hadn’t heard anything, so I called the store, and Tammy informed me they were "just pulling my car into the bay." There was no apology for the delay, and no proactive update from them throughout the day. It felt like my car had been forgotten. Around 5:15 PM, I decided to drive to the store myself to see what was going on. When I arrived, Jamie walked out of the bay and asked how he could help. I explained that I had dropped off my car at 9 AM and was now, over 8 hours later, trying to pick it up. Jamie didn’t offer an apology for the delay, even though it was well past 5 PM and I had been waiting all day. Tammy had already left for the day, so I asked Jamie for a discount for the inconvenience, and he told me a 10% military discount had already been applied. I asked if there was anything else he could do, but he said no. When I asked for the name of the district or regional manager, he said that Tammy was his only chain of command. The lack of customer service and basic courtesy was shocking. No apologies, no updates, and no effort to make up for the hours of unnecessary waiting. If you value your time and expect a basic level of professionalism, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for auto care. This location has completely failed in terms of communication and customer service.

I went to Firestone in Columbia South Carolina on gervais Street to have my tires replaced. I asked for the exact same tires that was being replaced. The store manager claimed that tire was no longer being produced and the ones that she located in stock had old dates and Firestone would not allow her to install a tire that was made in 2021 (very misleading lie) recommended tires that supposed to be superior to the (my factory tires) ones on my car. She gave this long speech about new noise reduction technology in the tires and how there will be literally no noise. The tires was loud and a rough ride. So we returned to the store and she told my husband and I that there'll be no charge to install the tires that I originally wanted and rescheduled an appointment for the next day. The tires was installed (that was supposed to be no longer manufactured) and then charged me a second installation fee. It's time that honest and hard working people stop getting ripped off. I will take this to social media and take my business somewhere else.

One of the worst experiences that I have ever had. Went there for a dead battery that was put in by Firestone Direct and within the warranty. The associate at this store wouldn't honor the warranty saying that the Firestone Direct was a separate company even though Bridgestone is both their parent company. Called the Bridgestone customer service and was given the runaround. Firestone direct has been shut down in the east coast and Firestone brick and mortar stores wouldn't honor the warranty. Wouldn't recommend Firestone to anyone.

Tammy is the branch manager and Jake is the area manager. Tammy has no customer service and she is very rude. You would think after constantly receiving bad reviews for your branch that you would want to be a little nicer. Especially around the holidays. Had a problem with Tammy and escalated it to Jake. Jake’s preferred method of contact is email. I’m not sure why he didn’t want to chat about this issue to rectify it. I don’t believe in constantly emailing someone when a phone call could take 2-3 minutes and be done. Specially asking for a call and it being declined I think is a little worse. Usually in a business you aim to please the customer and this is my second time using this business and I will say I will not be using it again. I’ll also be uploading a video of Tammy and if I can’t upload the video I’ll be uploading photos. You treat people with respect. It takes entirely too much energy to be mean to people. As a manager in sales for my company my number one goal is to please all my customers and if anything is escalated to me, it is immediately handled with empathy and with the most care. Unfortunately I did not receive that with either. I don’t think anyone is too busy for a call from an area manager. Especially when I called the customer care line and asked them how would my issue be handled and they said the area manager would give me a direct call. Please do not do business with this branch. The reviews are true. They are a preferred vendor for Enterprise and I used this branch with my rental car as well and it was a horrible experience then. Believe the reviews and the ratings, that’s exactly why they have them.

Left my car overnight to be done in the morning. I call around 11 and was told they would call me back when they were finished. I didn’t have a ride to the shop so I went in person anticipating it would be done. Around 2pm I asked them how long it would take. They said there were 9 other orders ahead of me. Very slow. Don’t come here

My daughter is a student at USC. She ended up with a flat tire that she was able to inflate herself with her compressor. She dropped it off early morning and was told someone would call her. She never heard from anyone so she called them 30 minutes before closing time and was told she needed to purchase a brand new tire because her flat tire had a slash in the sidewall and a nail hole that was not able to be repaired. She is not dumb with auto issues. She went to the store walked into the shop and asked the mechanic to show her the sidewall slash and nail hole. Turns out, the lady on the phone had lied to her. There was not damage to sidewall and the nail hole was tiny. She sent me a picture. It was indeed very small and could have easily been plugged. She could have plugged it herself if she were strong enough. She told them to put the tire back on her car and she left. She felt as though she was being taken advantage of and someone was just trying to sell her something. She went to next day to a reputable shop and the tire was plugged. No problem.

My son is at school there and took his car in for a headlight replacement. Got the bill and was shocked at how expensive it was. Talked to my mechanic here at home and based on his service history we were charged almost double what he would for the exact same job. They told me they were locked in to the service standard that the job calls for no matter how long it takes (which was way over what it should). Won’t be going back there.

Expedited version. I scheduled an appt for 9/21 at the Gervais Street location. I dropped my 2003 Ford Expedition off the evening of 9/19/2024 for an alignment (lifetime pkg) & to check ONE Firestone tire, rear driver's side that was collapsing in the center. I followed up first thing on Sunday and explained my concern extensively to Jayden who still did not service my vehicle. My truck was not ready until 9/23. Thus, causing me miss a day of work in Charlotte. It should not take 4 days to complete this SIMPLE task. Tami (manager), Lex, and Jayden failed to provide the superior service I grew to love many years ago when Ruey & Dorian were there. As I was filing a complaint, Tami attempted to make this right. However, they lost a $1300 sale and a customer because of their lack of performance. I understand being busy, but customers with appointments should be a priority, otherwise what is the point!

I made an appointment online for a lifetime alignment after having new struts and new tires installed elsewhere on my 2000 Toyota MR2. Nick was friendly and respectful of my time. He explained everything and addressed my questions. I needed additional parts to be able to get the necessary setting for camber. So I will be back after installing those bolts, for a realignment. I work close by and hope this is the start of a wonderful relationship that will last for years. Next up is replacing an O2 sensor to get the dash light to go away. But I will save that for next month.

I requested that the Firestone shop on Gervais Street in Columbia SC inspect ASAP a new Tesla Model Y for Uber. It had been driven about 200 miles. The earliest available appointment was one week later. A Samoan mechanic signed an Uber document that states that the Tesla passed every item that Uber had listed. I sent that signed document to Uber. Uber replied that the VIN on the document was not correct. A different mechanic corrected that VIN # after I returned to that shop. The mileage on the document was also incorrect, possibly because the mechanics at that shop were not familiar with Teslas.

My expectations about timing were completely mishandled - and had the staff been forthcoming when I arrived, I could have considered other options. In addition, not all of the services that I requested were completed. Very poor experience all around.

So my husband and I took the car in for a scratching noise we were hearing when braking. We specifically told them that we were driving cross country (back home to California) and kindly ask them to make sure the car is ready to make that drive. We got the car back and it made the same noise. We took it back and they blamed it on us for not getting the axles done because it was above our budget. (we have already paid 1,300 previously and then 1,000 the second time we took it). But they ASSURED us the car was good to drive. Our car broke down halfway through the trip. Once we did get home my bother who is a mechanic checked it out and said. “They did a messed up brake job. They left one of the bolts of the caliper completely off. The caliper pivoted forward and was rubbing up against the rim you guys could have been in serious trouble or could have gotten seriously hurt”. During our road trip we could have died or killed somebody else. Thankfully, our car broke down mid trip. This isn’t the first time they have been careless. The first time we took our car for a brand new set of tires and full car care package but had to take it back because we got a flat tire two days after due to a missing piece. Costumer service is alright but their negligence is seriously concerning.

This has been one of the strangest/worst experiences I have ever had while trying to get a simple tire replacement. Two weeks ago in late September, I paid nearly $800 to get a battery replacement, some other minor interior things done, and to have my two front tires replaced. I was informed by the staff there that those tires were close to popping. Fast-forward two weeks, I get a nail in my front tire, likely from hurricane debris, (which on my understanding was in one of the replacements), and I am informed I can bring my car in for a 2:00 appointment. Upon bringing my car in, I was informed that it would take quite a while to get any work done (I work a night job, so this was already pushing it). I was later informed that “This tire isn’t under warranty because we didn’t really replace your two front tires. We rotated the non-damaged rear tires to the front of the car and put the new tires on the back" and I would have to pay for a full replacement. The manager on site later changed the story and said "Nevermind, we can replace it for $50 because it actually is under warranty." Aside from changing the information constantly (at this point, this was genuinely seeming shady), the staff had sworn loudly while on the phone with me (even if it wasn't at me, this was unprofessional). The manager also claimed I hung up on him, which I never did. I never write negative reviews and generally try to make other hard-working peoples' lives easier, but I felt compelled to warn other people about this place. I will never take my business back here again, and I highly suggest others avoid it, particularly if they want a simple procedure done on their car. Looking at other 1-star reviews, I see other people have had similar shady experiences and I should have known better. Lesson learned.

I have been going here for years and usually get good service. I went two weeks ago and they did not put my glove compartment back together correctly after checking the cabin air filter. Whoever checked it just left the black piece (part of the glove compartment) on top of stuff in the compartment. The black part provides tension so the drawer doesn't flop out uncontrolled when you open it..so it is necessary to put back. This is lazy work, I probably won't be returning.

I made an appointment for a tire alignment. Everything was good until they tried to charge me $80 over the price advertised online. I asked why this was and I was told a “recalibration for safety” was required for certain cars only, which is why the extra price isn’t advertised. This explanation was super vague and was not making much sense. Come to find out that they didn’t even have to do this “recalibration”, so I was going to be charged for something that wasn’t even done to my car. This was extremely upsetting because I know if I hadn’t of stood up for myself I would’ve paid for a service that didn’t even take place. It saddens me to think about all the students like me that have been taken advantage of by not questioning the extra prices. They also tried to charge me for a vehicle inspection, which was another thing I didn’t ask for. Overall the entire situation was extremely shady. Customer service was good but I’m extremely disappointed that I was almost scammed therefore I’ll probably never go here again!

I thought this place was really good until I had my car serviced at another location. Back in January I got an oil change at this Firestone. First, it took them three days for them to change it because they told me they had to order the correct filter for my car. Four days pass by and I had to end up calling them to see if my car was ready and they told me it was ready two days ago but no one reached out to me to tell me it was ready. Fast forward to now where I had other complications with my car and I took it into Firestone but in the end I decided to get service else where. However, once the service was complete I was told that my oil was extremely low. I am very good at checking my oil and regularly put in oil because I know my car uses up a lot of oil so that finding that low level was surprising. That was until this other company found out and told me that a wrong filter was put in. The filter was way to big and it was completely crushed inside. I trusted this Firestone to do a good job and they cut corners. Never again am I going to rely on them.

I visited the Firestone on Gervais Street, Columbia, SC today and what a visit! I needed the air pressure checked and so the closest one to my job was this one. It was the worst customer service ever! It was this really rude chic (white lady with dark brown hair) that works there who thought it was necessary to hit the hood of my vehicle after I told her I was waiting for awhile and has not been served! This was after she throw the air hose down at my car and tell me to put air in my own tire! Who does this? I’ve spent so much money with Firestone (not this location and by was I’m glad!) but I have never experienced this type service EVER! I just wanted my air pressure checked but after being ignored for 20 minutes, this lady tells me that they are busy , they have other customers (who came after me) and I can do it myself. This was so crazy! People please do not spend your money there as they are not deserving of any business. For some reason they don’t feel you are the reason they have a job! Customer Service is essential and some including this lady at Firestone don’t think good customer service matters!

While traveling 200 miles from home to a tennis tournament in Columbia, I found myself with a bad tire and very few options after not being able to find a matching tire anywhere in Columbia. I decided to go into Firestone and assess my options for getting home safely. Little did I know, I was about to embark on one of the best service experiences I’ve ever encountered. I walked in late on a Friday and was greeted with a warm smile. I explained my problem to Nik, and he immediately started making phone calls to try and source a replacement tire. To my surprise, he was able to find one but they closed at 5. Without hesitation, he ran out to secure the tire. My existing damaged tire was technically under warranty and I wanted to explore that option as well additional tire coverage I had purchased with my vehicle. Nik stayed patient with me, helped me through the process, and gave me top notch customer service on an extremely busy Friday afternoon. He found the absolute best solution possible for me, and replaced the tire that night. The peace of mind Nik and Firestone provided me and their focus on customer service won’t soon be forgotten. I’ll be able to safely drive home and won’t have the stress all weekend of what to do. Compare this experience to the call I made to the Porsche dealership in Columbia who presented me with 0 options other than not to drive on it and they might be able to get to it on Monday, I’m thankful I met Nik and the wonderful people at Firestone.

I schedule my car for an oil change, tire rotation, and inspection days ahead and delivered it early Saturday morning. Was told it would be ready around lunch time. I drove by at noon and the car had not moved. I called at 2:00 and was told they were still looking at it. They finally called me back at 3:45 saying the inspection revealed the need for new brakes and a battery. I agreed. They said it would be ready by close of business at 6:00 and they would call when ready, and in the unlikely event it would not be ready, they would call to tell me that too. I never heard a thing that night. I called the next morning and was told they had to order the battery late the night before and were still working on it. I needed my car back. I went to the store at 10:00 and finally got it back at 10:30, 26 hours after I dropped it off for an oil change. The location was also not particularly busy.Train your mechanics to be more efficient and service people to manage customer expectations better.
