If you don't know about Farr Automotive you haven't been in Bozeman long enough - these guys are the best. I had my rear differential replaced on my truck and they did it in one day, with a few suggested maintenance items that saved me around $500.00 in labor. Time to ditch your old mechanic.

I had my car towed to Farr Automotive after being stranded because some mice chewed through some wires in my engine. They told me they couldn’t get me in for another two weeks but that I could leave my car there and they could see if they could get to it earlier. They called me the very next day and told me that my car was ready! Their prices were very fair and the work they do is honest, quick, transparent and trustworthy. They were all so incredibly nice and I know I will return to them whenever I need another fix. Highly recommend! Thank you Farr Automotive!

The absolute best customer service I’ve had at any mechanics shop. These guys are peoples people and helped me out a ton with my vehicle. Can’t say enough good things about this business and won’t take my vehicle anywhere else in Bozeman.

I started my travel from Seattle to my destination of Minnesota, to rekindle my relationship I had with my children in the middle of winter. Breaks went out, and I found myself in Bozeman Montana with destroyed breaks. Being a black man in America, I found myself in an area where I thought I was the only colored person in sight. Hoping I wouldn’t be taken advantage of i hoped on the google website for auto mechanic shops. I came across this mechanic shop. I ended up staying in a motel because he was not open. I called and explained my situation, and he said that he could help. When I tell you I was desperate and fearful at that time, I thought the price would be high. To my surprise, this was not the case. A father of five I desperately needed to be back with my children. I would have paid anything for them to be back in my arms. I told about my circumstance, and he listened intensely. He even drove me to auto zone to purchase the parts. He charged me a fair price, that I was pleasantly surprised. In times where there is great evil and mischief, it even seems like the end of times. I came across a man of integrity and unwavering to time. It has been nearly four and a half years later, and I stair at my children, and my new found wife. I reflect on that moment and I find peace and solace. I truly apologize for waiting this long to write a review of my great experience. I will forever truly appreciate that moment.

This shop’s ban on vehicles manufactured before 1997 is completely unreasonable. The whole purpose of a repair shop should be to make vehicles last and build a base of long-term customers. I will gladly give them another chance if they ever change their mind on this one issue.

I’ve been to Farr twice and have had fabulous experiences both time. I went to Farr for the first time as my engine light came on. They fixed it and about two months later the engine light came back on so I returned it back to them. Noland gave me a ring and informed me that the initial part was faulty so this second time was free of charge. I could not be more appreciative of their honesty and their consistent communication. Thank you Farr!

A co-worker recommended these guys and boy am I happy I listened. Done on time, at the agreed-on price and not even a smudge of grease anywhere. I realize it's silly to think this is a big deal but...have you tried to get your vehicle serviced in the valley lately? I had a timing belt and water pump replaced. I called for a quote and Nick said he'd call me back and he did so within the hour (the dealer actually never even called me back). We set up an appt but I was under some time constraints and Nolan made sure to keep me in the loop and was able to make it happen earlier than anticipated. To top it off, my car runs smoother and is quieter than when I first got it-that is definitely not the norm for timing belt replacements in my experience. Kudos to all that made this trouble-free experience happen!

I called today (2/8) around 11am because my windshield wiper wouldn’t go up all the way, although they were working. Nolan (sp ?) answered and was very helpful. He told me he was book through March, but if it was an easy fix like he thought, I should bring my car in around 3 to have him take a peek. I did so and arrived around 3. Upon walking in a lovely woman greeted me with a smile and told me Nolan would be right out. She was so friendly. Nolan came out to help me, pulled my car around and quickly fixed my loose screw on my wiper! I was amazed. He took time out of his busy schedule to do a quick fix. Seriously, saved my life with all the slush that gets kicked up onto my windshield during spring. I’ll be using Farr for all my auto needs now. Thank you!!

I had an issue with a stripped bolt on my passenger seat. I stopped in unannounced to see if they could help me. The place was very busy, yet orderly and calm. They told me they were booked solid for several weeks. I explained my issue and the guy said “let’s take a look.” He asked for my keys and came back in 10 min with the problem solved. They could’ve easily ignored a job like this but went out of their way to help out. This is the kind of place any auto owner wants to know about. Worth taking the time to review and I’ll certainly go back if/when the need arises.

We've been taking all our vehicles to the team at Farr for years and years - probably close to a decade now - and highly recommend this shop. Great people doing great work. From minor repairs and oil changes, to major diagnostics and detective work under the hood, we love Farr and appreciate their work ethic, fair pricing, trustworthiness, clear communication, and friendliness. Hands down the best mechanic shop in town. We've used them for 10+ years, and have always received fair & speedy service. When we've had to work within a budget, they've explained what was urgent and what could wait. When I bought a new(er) vehicle, I had the guys look it over and their only response was that it was in perfect condition. Other places may have given me a list of "fixes" but Farr is honest. They may not be the absolute cheapest, but quality never is. Customer for life (and sorry it took me so long to write a review)!
