Avoid This Shop at All Costs!! I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. A few months ago, I took my 2007 Infiniti G35S to Extreme Auto Works for an engine replacement. I initially spoke with Cal, who quoted me around $5,800, and we agreed on a 3-week timeline. During the few initial calls, I mentioned wanting a lower-mileage, good-running engine to replace the blown one. The final price came to $6,500, which I was fine with and fully understand small outside costs. However, things went downhill fast. Before I went to pick up my car, I was told by an associate on the phone that the engine had a clacking noise at certain RPMs. They couldn’t tell me where the engine came from, but mentioned on the phone it was from B&R Auto Wrecking or some sort of junkyard. The issue was said to be with the timing chain tensioner but there was no check engine light and I was given two options: a warranty with a $1,500 refund (~$5,000 out of pocket) or paying an extra $2,000-$2,500 to fix the issue, bringing the total to atleast $8,500. I decided to take the car home without further work done. Upon picking it up, the car wouldn’t start due to a dead battery. After charging the battery, and taking it home I found that a check engine light was on—likely not initially on because the car had been dead when I picked it up. The code was for camshafts positioning sensor errors. As a full time working student within the engineering field and a mechanical background, I decided to remove the timing cover and found serious issues. The timing parts (tensioners) were within spec, but the engine showed signs of poor maintenance—oil sludge, clogged galleries, and stained parts. With this in mind, the engine looked like it had very high mileage or was previously poorly maintained, which would have been obvious with proper inspection. I discovered that the VVT sprockets, which are crucial and cost $1,800 in parts to replace, had been starved of oil due to sludge and old gasket buildup within the galleries. Despite my best efforts to clean and flush the engine, the issue persists. Now the car sits in the same condition the shop left it. In short, Extreme Auto Works sold me a poor-quality engine and did not inspect it properly before installation. I wish I had known this earlier, as I now have a totalled car and wasted thousands of dollars. I’ve tried to contact Cal and Extreme Auto Works for details on the engine’s mileage, but of course, I’ve received no response. If you (Extreme Auto Works) are reading this review I would still like these pieces of information about the engine. Thanks, Kai H.

This shop is awesome. They are extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. If you have a modified or unusual vehicle you need to bring it here. I will be bringing my cars here exclusively from now on.

Blew my turbo and engine on a 17 subaru wrx and Cal went above and beyond to help in such a stressful situtation dealing with insurance/warranty companies himself to replace it completely and was very good at updating me and keeping me in the loop, will be working with those guys again forsure!!

We picked up our Lexus RX 450 H Hybrid today, We took this vehicle in for a complete motor swap. This shop located a motor for us and installed it. The total cost was 6800 dollars. Upon picking the vehicle up the engine light was now on, and now the Hybrid battery is having issues with Charging. When we called the shop they were less than helpful and wanted us to buy more electrical components to fix this supposed engine light issue. The question here is why after spending 6800 dollars is there an engine light on after a complete engine swap? Why were we given a car that was not correct after spending 6800 dollars? In my opinion i would not do business here as it was a horrible experience for us. So now we are here with a broken vehicle that will not charge and have spent 6800 dollars!!!

Great shop. Solid owner. Team knows their stuff, I bought a 85 Supra. Did a walk through myself, took it in to make sure that I didn't miss anything and this staff is on point. They found all the issues. Let me know of the potential plans to address the list. If you want a shop that actually talks about cars, build, custom things and what's possible - these are your guys.

Called in, in desperate need of some exhaust work on my old Ford Ranger. Spoke with Cal, who just so happened to be able to squeeze me into the shop the same day I called. Just lucky timing there, but everyone in the shop were super friendly and helpful. The work that was done is amazing. Complete hand made exhaust from the CAT. back in about two hours. LOL the exhaust is so quest now, I am going to have to relearn when to shift as I can't hear the all the leaks anymore. I will definitely be doing more business with Cal and the rest of the crew.

A friend of mine told me to call Cal at Extreme Auto Works because they are honest and care about their customers. I was so glad I listened to my friend because Cal was able to get my car in the same day I called. Cal and other employees had my car diagnosed and fixed within ninety minutes. Thank you Cal for being so honest and taking such great care of your customers. I know where I can now go and know that my car will be in highly experienced hands. Cal and his guys at Extreme fixed my Ford truck after I started, and couldn’t finish the job. It was a labor intensive job of removing and replacing the turbos and exhaust manifolds, including broken exhaust studs. They got it done right, in a timely manner, and at a fair price. I highly recommend them for your auto service needs. Thanks guys!

Called in for an issue with my lights. Cal got me scheduled same day, and had me out in less than an hour with a bill that's at least half of what a big name garage would charge me. As someone who comes from a place where it's only independently owned auto shops, this is a breath of fresh air. Only five stars because I can't give them more. I'll be back!
