Highly recommend Engine Menders! This place was recommended to me by a friend after I first took my vehicle to the Dealership where I was very disappointed in the outcome with the service that was performed. I can not say enough positive things about Engine Menders. There were several employees whom I spoke with and they were all very knowledgeable about my vehicle and the specifics on what the issues were with it and how to best fix it. They even mentioned how the Dealership was careless on putting my car back together as there were several parts loose!!! I will only be taking my vehicle to Engine Menders from now on! If you are in need of knowledgeable, experienced and fast staff/mechanics/service on your vehicle, do yourself a favor and call them to see if they can do the work!

Have spent over $11,500 at engine menders to get my transmission repaired. Have brought it up to them 4 times total. The first three were for repairs and the fourth was to be replaced. After two days the transmission overheated again. When I called kenny at the front counter he was rude and even threatened me! Tried to talk over me when I was speaking and ultimately hung up on me! After he threatened me I told him I would sue them if my truck was not fixed and he hung up! Anyone who has spent this kind of money for any repair should be upset if the problem is still not fixed! Brought the truck back to them the same day on a Friday and they said bring it back on Tuesday. The owner Shane is a very nice guy but his "mechanics" don't know what they are doing. I am not blaming Shane I am blaming the mechanics because they are the ones doing the work. Shane has helped us out a ton in the past with price negotiations on the service we received. I AM BLAMING THE MECHANICS!

I want to thank the experts at Engine Menders for the excellent repairs that was recently completed on my Toyota RAV-4 driver’s seat. The manual handle to raise and lower the seat was broken as well as the handle to move the seat forward and backwards. The work was done faster than the dealership and at a fraction of the cost! Thank you Engine Menders for a job well done!

Needed an install on side runners for my Wrangler. they set up an appointment for the next day and had it ready within a short time. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs some work on their vehicles! Very helpful and professional!

I’m from out of town, dropped off my Honda on a Sunday in July 2023 when it broke down while driving through. The place wasn’t even open, I left the key, the car, and a note. Best of all, they took care of me. These folks do good work at a fair price. When it comes time to order my 3 T66 turbos, this is who I am calling!

These guys saved our vacation! My family was visiting from NY (1,800 miles round trip) and ran into concerning car issues shortly after we arrived to our destination of Columbia, SC. I found Engine Menders online and called to set up a diagnosis. Despite being short-staffed that day, they got me in within an hour. They took the time to talk me through all the details of the issue, the risks of driving the car as-is, the cost of doing the repair work in SC vs. NY, the likelihood of the car making it back to NY, etc. They patiently helped me weigh my options, and provided a ton of reassurance. Ultimately, they helped me decide I could drive back home with car as-is, informing me about other problems to watch for along the way, and that we should take breaks every 90 minutes or so. I asked what the diagnostics fee would be, and Shane (owner) simply sent me on my way with a handshake, free-of-charge. He and the mechanic who also helped advise us of our options, showed us true compassion. And best of all of course, we indeed made it home safely. Can't thank them or recommend them enough.

After I noticed the damage to my vehicle after hitting the deer, I couldn’t have picked a better shop to handle the job. The customer service was phenomenal with communication during the whole process with the bumper being on back order for several months. Once the bumper arrived they made sure my car was in perfect shape upon picking the vehicle, and dealing with the insurance to make sure it was operating just as good if not better than it was when it arrived.

There prices are fair and just they painted my truck they were only place in columbia to match my same color . I call several company they could not match the paint. Also 3 months later put a new radiator and a new resvior also they fix extra stuff on my truck free of charge.

I love the care and consideration at this auto shop. It is extremely challenging to find quality mechanics who aren't trying to scheme or get rich off of you. The prices are reasonable and they are very pleasant to work with. I came to them after another mechanic basically tried to break my bank account on top of my suspicion of my suspicion that my previous mechanic made my car worse. I always pay top notch for my car even if it's my last dime since I travel a lot on my own. While I am still recovering from my last mechanic, I think I've finally found a safe space to get my car taken care of with quality service and excellent customer service!

I was charged $300.00 for one spark plug. I was overcharged. My car is still not in good shape after going to this shop. My experience was bad. I don't recommend them at all. I feel discriminated against.

Brought in my car needing a new front bumper and under engine protection. Got back what seemed to be a brand new car. Bumper was impeccably restored, perfectly matching paint and car had been serviced and detailed like new on return. Will go back and do highly recommend.

I have been bringing all of my vehicles here for the last decade. From oil changes, to brakes, motor mounts, body repair, transmission service, you name it... Shane and his crew have always been intentional about, and really good at, understanding my concerns as well as diagnosing and explaining anything and everything that I have ever thrown at them. Never attempting to sell me a service or part that I don't need, and always using the best quality parts that were necessary for my vehicles at very reasonable prices, labor included. Honesty and loyalty that you likely won't find anywhere else. Except for rare instances of convenience only, I will always bring my vehicles to Engine Menders.

I needed someone to remove surface rust and paint the underside of my Jeep Wrangler. It's tedious and time consuming work and, after calling every body and paint shop around, I could not find anyone to take on the job. One of the collision shops I called mentioned Engine Menders, so I gave them a try. I explained what I needed to Shane Melbourne. He told me no problem, bring the Jeep in the following Monday. When I brought my Jeep to the shop, I also described various squeaks and groans in the suspension that were causing me concern, and asked if they would try to identify the problem. Many shops that I have dealt with would have considered this open-ended bug hunt to be a license to steal, not Engine Menders. Shane kept me apprised of their progress, and found several issues that had been plaguing my Jeep for some time. He told me what I could ignore for the moment and what I had to address now. He offered to source the necessary parts for me, or allow me to order the parts myself. Altogether, Engine Menders cleaned up the rust, treated and painted the exposed metal, restored the correct suspension geometry, eliminated the squeaks and groans, and provided a path forward for a couple of minor issues. They did this tedious work, troubleshooting, and repair for a reasonable price, and even gave me a break on a couple of items. My Jeep rides better now than it did the day I drove it off the lot (I am the only owner). The performance of the Engine Menders staff is exemplary and beyond my expectations. An A+ job for a fair price.

It’s hard to find a company that cares. I spoke with Kenneth in July related to an engine replacement for my 2017 Kia Forte5. Kenneth quoted Me around $6,000 when JTs quoted me $12000. Kenneth was very compassionate during the call and didn’t plan to take advantage of me at all. I ended up getting the engine replaced with warranty. I called Kenneth to update him and he was genuinely very happy for me. They didn’t get the business for the engine replacement, but they definitely secured all business from me in the future. I will not take my vehicle anywhere else. These gentlemen were so professional. I love the integrity and honesty of the staff. So many places take advantage of women because we don't know what to ask or what's going on under the hood, but these guys treated me so well. I highly recommend their services.

Noticed a small coolant leak on my truck while visiting family in Columbia. Scheduled to leave the next day, I couldn’t take the chance of pulling my 36’ 5th wheel back north. Wheeled into this place to have it checked out at 4:00 in the afternoon and sure enough the water pump was failing. These guys had me fixed up and back on the road by 11 am the next day. I can’t say enough for the integrity of the guys at engine menders, to shuffle the schedule around just to get my family back home on schedule.

Had a custom bumper for my 2008 4runner painted for a reasonable price when other paint shops turned me down because they did not have the resources to hold a heavy steal bumper. Great customer service and quality. The Staff members and owner replied very quickly when I called and staff members seemed to work great with each other. Thanks guys.

Five star service! Professional, honest, fair prices, respectful of your time, and going above and beyond! I went in for an unexpected repair this time and still managed to make it to work on time. I'll be planning to use them in the future for maintenance work as well!
