We came in with a ton of unknown issues. Mike was able to find, explain, recommend and fix or vehicle. They didn’t take advantage or up charge anything. Finished in a timely manner and were polite and knowledgeable. So thankful.

So far so good. I've taken my Durango there 3 times and their prices are definitely reasonable. This is considering the good job they do every time, being thorough, and the fact that they were able to rebuild my front end same day. Their estimates so far seem to run right at the same as the actual, and they even provide a complimentary ride home and back.

Took my car in to have an alignment done for $100. They couldn’t do the alignment so charged me $68 to tell me why they couldn’t do the alignment. All I asked for was an alignment if you couldn’t do it just say that and return my vehicle. I didn’t ask for an inspection nor did I receive a call to consult me about it. I didn’t even receive a call when they were finished. Got charged $68 for nothing to get done. Bad business, I’m also a veteran that’s low on money, that’s a way to treat someone. I complained about having to pay for nothing getting done. Had a rude smirk saying “guess what, I’m still getting the $68 lol” “labor isn’t free” he didn’t do anything. Never did I say I was going to leave a 1 star review if you didn’t give it to me for free. I said I was leaving a 1 star review after I already paid bc I didn’t feel like the situation was treated fairly. My wife was with me and it’s all recorded. Also you said you couldn’t do the alignment because of the springs, the ball joints, and the struts. So don’t sit here online and lie and say you would’ve done the alignment. You are a bad business person and this is what google reviews are for. It is illegal to charge for a service that I did not authorize you to do. You never called and got consent to inspect the rest of the vehicle. You never called to say “hey I can do the alignment but it would be pointless.” No consideration from this man. Never did you say before the service that there would be a charge for figuring out why you couldn’t do an alignment. Never did you mention the hourly charge either. All I was told was that it was $100 for the alignment, you didn’t do an alignment and I got charged $68.

Fixed the unknown problem I had. Michael kept me up to date on problems they came across and went over options. I will definitely be bringing her back for the upcoming factory maintenance and she'll be like new.

I began taking my cars to Dwain's after being referred to them. I have a 2012 Ford Escape and a 2019 Ford Escape. Last summer, the 2019 Escape kept showing a warning light, saying that my engine was too hot and I needed to turn off the car. This car only had 44,000 miles. I took it to Dwain's and before diagnosing it, Micheal told me that Ford had sold thousands of cars with faulty engines that had coolant leaking into them. I had not received anything from Ford. I did not know anything about it. He did diagnose the car, and I did in fact have a faulty engine. I ended up taking it to Ford to fix due to it being covered financially. Not every Ford owner had their cars covered. Had it not been for Michael telling me what was happening with Fords, and suggesting I try to see if Ford would cover it, it would have cost thousands of dollars. And, I would not have known that this was an issue amongst the 2019 Escapes. This summer, I had a purge valve that needed replaced. Before calling Ford, I called Michael, and asked his advice. He gave me his advice, and I followed it. Even if I take my car to Ford, Michael is willing to give me advice. Now that my warranty is expired, I will take both cars to Dwain's in the future. The fact that he gave me a heads up on what was happening with Fords was a tremendous help in knowing how to proceed with the engine work. I appreciate his honesty even when it meant taking my car to Ford instead of Dwain's. While I was angry at Ford and was without a car for most of the summer, Michael's honesty and advice saved me thousands of dollars. I will be returning to Dwain's. Thank you.

*reply- thanks for your detailed response, Mike! I chose not to answer your calls because what else is there to speak about? You got your $800+ and I got my new throttle body. I gave a review on my experience from my point of view. You are not dammed if you do or if you don’t, you get a 5 star review for being completely honest to the customer about ALL of the problems with their vehicle. I would have never taken this vehicle from you the first time if I knew that the throttle body wouldn’t completely solve my vehicle issues. No, I was not happy that the first time I drive the vehicle after picking it up that I get a code about the transmission overheating and have to pull and sit on the side of the road. You told me all I needed was a throttle body and this would “get me back to running normal” so that’s the impression I was running under. I specifically asked you if I needed a new transmission (which I was fully expecting from the start and willing to pay for) and you straight told me no. And for that, you get a one star review. Cannot recommend. Came in complaining about vehicle problems and asked them to check the transmission. I had the transmission fluid checked before bringing it so I knew it was black and burning. I expected there to be a transmission problem on the vehicle. Shop calls next day, says it’s something else. I go in to speak directly and I ask specifically about the transmission and I’m told I do not need a new transmission and it’s the throttle body. Fine, if that will fix the issues. They do the work which is done within minutes. I pay $800, pick it up, expecting my vehicle to be fixed and normal. I drive it to Shawnee from Edmond and the vehicle is still driving the same, almost worse, than before and I get a warning about the transmission overheating. I sit on the side of the highway for an hour to let the transmission cool then drive it back and drop it back off to them. Now I am told I need a new transmission after I spent $800 on the other repair. Why didn’t you check the transmission from the start like I asked and you told me I did not need work on the transmission? Why was this not checked before handing me the keys to my vehicle back as if the problem was fixed? Now, I’m on the road driving an hour away in a vehicle that is in terrible shape when I just paid $800 for the problem to be corrected. I knew it needed a transmission from the start! So either they knew it needed a transmission as well and decided to try to get me for the other repair and the transmission while sacrificing my time and safety or they are just inept in diagnosing vehicles and do not listen to customer concerns. Even if it did need a throttle body as well, how could you miss a transmission problem with black and burning fluid? Either way, I am not happy with this shop as I feel I was taken advantage of.

Car issues are never fun, but it's amazing to know there are honest hard working mechanic shops out there. Thank you for working with me to get my car up and running properly. I can't recommend Dwain's enough.

My vehicle's AC stopped working. After attempting to charge it without success, I took it to Dwain’s Automotive. This is not my first experience like this with Dwain's, but I was giving them another chance. Latest experience below. First Visit to Dwain’s Automotive: I explained that the AC wasn't working and suspected a leak since I couldn't get it to charge. They said they would look at it. The next day, I picked up the car. They said they charged the AC and needed to read the dye to see where it was leaking from. I thought they should keep the car overnight to identify the leak but kept that thought to myself and paid the $135 diagnostic fee. The AC stopped working again within 24 hours. Second Visit to Dwain’s Automotive: Before taking it back, I used a UV light and found dye leaks in a couple of places. I asked for a quote to change the coolant lines. They said they needed to look at it again, so I paid another $135 diagnostic fee. This seemed unfair since they didn’t fully troubleshoot it the first time, leaving a sour taste. Dwain’s called back, quoting $3,112.71 for repairs to make the AC work, explaining that labor was high due to needing access to the evaporator and suggesting changing the heater core as well. I was shocked at the cost. It seemed like they always went for the most expensive repairs rather than starting small. They showed me images of debris buildup on the evaporator, claiming it was from dye/oil spraying from the leak. The debris looked old, but there were no UV light pics showing dye in it. They frequently mentioned their “master mechanics” to justify high prices in the past. Comparison, I took a visit to "Auto Shop B": Based on a recommendation, I took the vehicle to another mechanic. I have the receipts from both and I can share, just contact me. I will continue without mentioning the other mechanics name. I just told them the AC wasn’t working and I was told it needed a new evaporator. "Auto Shop B" started troubleshooting from scratch, which I agreed to. They called back, explaining each step of their troubleshooting. My bill was $333 in Total. They found the problem was with the line fittings and Schrader valves. They vacuum tested overnight and kept the car another day to ensure it didn't lose coolant and still blew cold. They showed me the bad fittings and valves, explaining that the evaporator had debris buildup, but there was no indication it was leaking. It might impact AC performance slightly when idling, but not significantly. It's been a couple weeks, and the AC is still blowing cold. Only giving 2 starts instead of 1 since the customer service folks are friendly. ------- Clarification. I did take a couple months to come back (couldn't do without the vehicle for a bit), but, I did call back twice just after the AC leaked out. It was just 2 days, 1st time someone answered, said they wanted to call me back. I had explained I saw dye on the lines with my own UV light and wanted a rough number for replacing the lines. Never got a call. Second time no answer. I know they are busy there so I decided to just bring it back up when I had time, the dye wasn't going anywhere. I appreciate the refund offer, I did see a missed call today but was busy. Saw this comment reply come through via email afterwards. I would respectfully like to decline and just let the review stand. Your rebuttle comment is fully justified and I think I am good with just leaving these here for people to observe. They can see your offer and my reported experience and combine it with all of the other reviews for an educated decision. It was just time for me to move on from Dwains.
