Dualtone Muffler Brake and Alignment

Took my car in for an alignment, was told they wouldn't touch it and I need about 6500 worth of work underneath. To start with my breaks for 1900 then they could align it. Took it elsewhere got an alignment right away, has run great since. My breaks need attention but that doesn't have ANYTHING to do with alignment.

Took my truck in to get my exhaust retapped due to O2 sensor stripping they did that job just fine walked in with my own Bosch sensor brand new from O'Reilly's with invoice in the box examined in store and note i have a commercial account with O'Reilly's that we've been using for over 10 years and when I got truck had check engine codes, examined sensor at house and was damaged so removed and ecamined it, one it looked old 2the connectors inside where old and dirty from the previous car it had been on. Also the truck was towed to the shop without the original oxygen sensor in place so the guy can't even say he mistakenly installed the old one long story short they didn't even install my brand new sensor, I looked up the part number on my sensor and it was from a Denso not I attached photos with this review showing the 1. original sensor that comes out of the truck ,2. the stripped sensor that I failed to install and 3. the long wire is the Denso sensor that the shop tried to Shadily install I'm the only assuming to return the parts for credit... shady shop wouldn't trust them to do any future work Ernesto or Enrique is the guy you wanna look out for he's the guy who messes with the mufflers.

I've been having Dualtone do my brake job for about 20 years. I used to have Clairemont Mesa Ford do my brakes, but their brake pads never seemed to last to 20K miles. Dual tones usually get over 40K miles before needing to be replaced. The Dualtone guys know what they are doing. I take both my Chevy Impala and my Ford Sport Trac there when I need a brake job. I now live in Arizona and still take my vehicles to Dualtone. That tells you how much I trust them to do a good job.

True Professionals. I own Auto Express Inc. San Diego's best Auto Transport company and occasionally I get cars from auctions I think will be a good fix. This one came with no cats, worst they were cut out. But Mike and the team worked together with me until everything was handled fixed the right. This matches right what was advertised, to their legacy, and why my mechanic was so sure to recommend them. Very rare in the current environment that the service matches the advertisement but that's what I stand for. Dualtone clearly does also and I couldn't recommend them more. Look for Mike.

Went for an alignment and dualtone said they couldn’t do it because I need new suspension then quoted me $2,800 for the job and said I couldn’t get the alignment until I got the suspension done. Took it to my normal mechanic I alway go to. They performed the alignment and did not report any problems with the suspension.

Can’t say enough great things about this garage. There is no other place I will take my car to get serviced. Very knowledgeable and extremely nice staff who is very transparent with you, amazing prices and never looking to scam you out of money on repairs you don’t need. They seriously took such great care of me when I needed new wheel bearings. They also got my car washed at no extra cost which was a lovely surprise to me. They are the best.

Don't bother going there without appointment. I got sent by Discount Tire for one stud and had to wait for two hours. Not their fault though!

Great experience with the guys at Dualtone. Michael helped me throughout the process to get the catalytic converter replaced on my Outlander. I got to watch the mechanic do his thing because the work stations are in the front, that was very cool. I drove 8 hours after that and the car did great. I felt confident / safe about the car for the first time in a while and I'm very grateful to you. I will definitely go back for any repairs needs.

Just got my car aligned today.. although my alignment was not far off, not requiring a lot of attention, my steering wheel was cocked slightly to the left thanks to work done by a previous shop. Dual tone test drove my car three times in an effort to center in my steering wheel.. they did an excellent work, took their time and did a very thorough job. 10/10 recommend

We had an excellent experience here! We came for a vehicle inspection before a private party purchase and the guys at Dualtone gave the car a super thorough inspection and gave us a very detailed report. They were so nice and professional, and the price was very fair! Thanks so much!

Can not express how happy I am with this shop. I had some crazy wear on the inside of my front tires just 3-4 months after an alignment at another SD shop. I called and was able to get an appointment for about an hour and a half later and worked with Greg, one of the service managers there. Greg was absolutely awesome. He took the time to educate me about general alignment procedures and thoroughly explained what was going on with my car and why the tires wore like they did. In a time where big corporate businesses rule certain markets, going to Dualtone and working with Greg made me feel like an actual valued customer. He was upfront, attentive, patient, and actually had a conversation with me. I'm not sure if the place I took my car previously botched the alignment, or if these SD roads really are that bad, but from here out I'll be taking my car to Greg anytime I need an alignment or brakes. I also forgot to mention that the price is unbeatable. I got a SOLID alignment for a third of the price the dealer would have charged me. Big city business with small town vibes!

I thought my car needed a new muffler so I made an appointment. They checked carefully, took their time, and it turned out it was a completely separate issue. I did not get charged. They were so considerate of my stress (anything car related destroys me), showed so much compassion and humanity, even referred me to a place where they could help me. If I ever do need a new muffler or alignment, I know where I'm going.

I was referred to Dualtone by the Discount Tire up the street, where my wife’s Tesla was getting a crack in her wheel welded. As someone who typically works on my own truck, I was feeling lazy and decided to give Dualtone a shot. Best decision I’ve made this year! I had the great pleasure of meeting Greg today at Dualtone. I’ve lived in San Diego for the better part of a decade and am kicking myself for never taking my truck here. The staff did an amazing job at fixing the camber along with an alignment and balancing on my Tacoma. I was welcomed into the shop and immediately I knew I was in good hands here. I’d like to thank Greg for the great hospitality and conversation. Next up, brake pads a rotors!

This was my first time to the shop, and it couldn't have been a better experience! I'd like to single out the excellent customer service by Angel, who was my advisor that helped me put on a new muffler and adjust the alignment on my 1978 Fiat Spider. He was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, walked me under the car to show me how the installation would go, and answered all of my questions. They even worked on the car past closing time to make sure the alignment was dialed in perfectly. I will definitely be coming back for additional services. Thanks again Angel.

I love my truck (98 tacoma) bought it new and have travelled a lot with it. I have been fighting it pulling to the right since more than 6 mos. ago...since I have a lifetime alignment with Evans, I brought it in there twice and both times they failed to fix it. At my request they checked the front end and gave me a written estimate to replace the inner and outer tie-rod ends $2,004 labor and materials included. My tech advised against it, suggesting an alignment with shims instead. I got an appointment at Duatone for today and sure enough that's all it was, runs great! They also checked front end and found no such work needed! I'm not sure what is more surprisong, finding how crooked some people can be, or how honest others are. Gregg (the manager) explained thigns clearly to me, I plan on returning there in the future, I feel like these guys are honest and they have your back, and I like that feeling!

Went in for an alignment and when I picked up the car something was off. Turns out an unrelated part had worn out and the mechanic (Angel) stayed past closing to troubleshoot and resolved the issue free of the charge by the next morning. Angel and the others at the shop were very helpful and friendly.

Edit: a few months later I went into the dealership and turns out I need a second brake fluid flush - it was never done by Dualtone the first time. Complete lying frauds. Do not go here. Went in to replace brake pads and a brake fluid flush. The brake job seems to fine but afterwards, my cars alignment is massively off. I am on new tires so l'm not sure how a brake pad replacement changes my alignment so drastically. I can only imagine that since I brought my own parts, and the shop kept complaining how much money they were already losing, that my alignment was purposefully set off so I would have to come back for an alignment fix as well. I'm going to have to go in anyways but you can be sure I won't be going to this shop.

One of the Mufflers on my 4Runner rusted and fell off. They were able to fix the problem the first time I visited them and while I waited. It also was very inexpensive. I also have them work on my 1966 Jaguar.

Went in for an alignment only for them to charge me for an alignment and tell me my cars front camber can’t be adjusted. Shortly after, started hearing knocking when going over bumps. Just got back from the dealer who said that someone had left a ratchet strap attached to my suspension. Never going to DualTone again.
