DuFresne's is a refreshing "throwback" auto shop. They're that neighborhood auto shop your parents went to where the price was fair, the communication was honest and the work was timely and effective. We started going to DuFresne's a few years ago and have referred three family members and our neighbors also. We appreciate having DuFresne's in our neighborhood.

Great group of people. I trust their work and advice. I have been going here for 10+ years. I've had a Dodge truck, Chrysler 300 and our current Honda Pilot worked on by then. Never any issues. They have courtesy cars too which is really convenient.

Upfront and reasonable pricing. Able to get me in quickly for repair and car was ready earlier than expected. There was even a Loaner car offered, which I was not expecting and was a huge help. Will definitely come back for service!

I have been to Dufresne's a handful of times over the past few years. They have always been honest and transparent. While my most recent visit came with a gut-punch of a diagnosis (bad transmission), I appreciate the communication and transparency of the folks at Dufresne's. The cost of the assessment was provided before the assessment, and was a fair price. I trust the folks at Dufresne's and will continue to use them in the future.

I have used Du Fresne's auto service to keep my 2008 Subaru Impreza in tip-top shape so we can go on ALL the adventures. They are reasonably priced, clear with communication, responsive to urgent needs, and are able to prioritize "must fix now" vs "gunna be a problem in 20k miles, gotta budget this one out" which is deeply appreciated as an underpaid teacher. I really like working with them.

New clutch installed 2.5 years ago, but the slave cylinder started leaking, so they replaced the entire clutch for free! Great shop!

I have been taking my cars to DuFresne's for many years and anytime that i have to take my car somewhere else it is also a hassle and I dont get the service that I get at DuFresne. Preston is my main contact and is super responsive and I know that he is exploring all avenues to make sure my car is taken care of and in a manner that isnt going to break the bank. My mechanic is Jacob who has been great and very friendly when I have had the chance to talk to him. Highly recommend DuFresne as they embody the customer service you expect from a local, neighborhood auto repair shop where you are known as a person and not a phone number.

Local to the NW Portland / NE Beaverton Area. My 2 family cars are coming here for anything car related. Whether it’s something as small as windshield wipers or an oil change or something as big as Tires/Brakes or anything engine related. It cost a touch extra for good reason….they been doing this for a very long time at a very high level. Great communication with whoever works on our cars as well as great etiquette from anyone over the phone or at the front desk. I’d recommend anyone to come by with their vehicle(s).

Professional and timely customer service. Preston kept me informed on the diagnosis and my options. I have used Dufresne's for years and this is where I now recommend that my kids take their cars as well. I trust this group and always feel like I get my money's worth. A dealership had recommended about $600 worth of work, which Du Fresne's said was unnecessary. That's the type of service you an expect here.

Super fast, very polite and friendly staff, they quickly discovered what was wrong with our vehicle when we've had other mechanics stumped in the past for this reoccurring issue, and they called me every step of the way to keep me updated! Best shop I've been to so far.

We love this place! We have been going here since October 2016 and have never had a problem! They are always friendly, explain everything thoroughly with a smile, and give us recommendations on what services our cars may need in the near future. I appreciate the attention to detail, it's what I call exceptional customer service and I highly recommend them! Ok this is a new review, they fixed my car last week & it was done not only quickly & efficiently; they are so knowledgeable & friendly! I'm never disappointed when I take a car to them!

The service at Du Fresne's was excellent. I was greeted warmly when I arrived, all my questions were answered with patience. I also received reminders about my appointment, which I appreciated. The service provided was fast, I had my car back before lunch! I will absolutely be coming back here for future service and repair needs.

I have been taking my 2009 Rav4 to Du Fresne's Auto for a few years now and I know I can always trust them to give me a full picture of my car's health and what my options are. In my most recent visit, I was even able to borrow one of their loaner cars for no extra charge while they were working on my car, saving me a lot of stress as I prepare to host family in town for Thanksgiving. The work was finished days ahead of schedule and Preston spent extra time helping me determine if it was a good time to potentially sell my car or if it made more sense to keep it for a few more years. Really appreciate the whole staff at Du Fresne's and couldn't recommend them more.

I think I had just gotten used to bad service. But from the moment I called Dufresne's I could tell that this was something different. The other place I'd been dealing with made me feel like I, and my car were basically a pain in the neck to them. Here I got prompt, professional service from very welcoming people who communicated with me. No messing around, they just did a great job and restored my faith that there are good repair shops out there. Can't thank them enough. Jeff

I recently scheduled an appointment online with Du Fresne's Auto Service to have some work done on my 2015 Toyota Camry, which has 150,000 miles. I provided detailed information about the car and the issues, knowing my OBD reader was basic, and I needed a shop with more advanced diagnostic tools. When I arrived today to drop off my car, I was about to hand over my keys to one of the two older ladies at the desk. Suddenly, an older gentleman stepped in and said, "I'm not even sure they are going to work on this; I have to go ask." This left me baffled, and when he came back, I was shocked when he told me they couldn’t work on my car. He initially tried to claim my car had been in an accident, all because my hood is wrapped in white vinyl. I clarified that it was just a wrap and that the car had never been in an accident. It became clear to me that their refusal to work on my car was because it’s a “newer” model, and perhaps it wasn’t something simple for them to handle given the age of the owners. For a shop that’s supposed to specialize in all kinds of auto repair, their unwillingness to even take a look at a Toyota Camry—one of the most reliable and common cars on the road—was disappointing. Their experience seemed lacking, and they didn’t seem willing to even try. When I asked if they could recommend another shop nearby, the gentleman had the audacity to suggest a dealership. The whole reason I went to a small business was to avoid being overcharged by a dealership! I’m appalled at how much time I wasted only to be told last-minute that they wouldn’t work on my car. No one reached out before my appointment to inform me this might be an issue, even though I provided clear details during the booking process. Thankfully, I found another shop that morning that took care of me and my car without hesitation. In my opinion, Du Fresne’s Auto Service doesn’t deserve your business. They clearly don’t prioritize their customers, and their unwillingness to communicate in advance and offer helpful alternatives shows a lack of professionalism. I won't be returning, and I would advise others to think twice before going here. **In Response to Shops Comment* As I mentioned previously, all the parts worked on were OEM and installed by a certified professional. I can provide receipts for everything done on my car. Reviewing the car’s maintenance history, especially for a vehicle I’ve owned since day one, shouldn’t be seen as an "extra" burden for your shop. The focus should have been on addressing the specific issue I brought up, which is what I expect to pay for. Additionally, your comment about the check engine light shows a lack of understanding regarding newer vehicles. On newer cars, the engine light can indeed come on and then go off as the car's system attempts to readjust. However, diagnostic trouble codes are stored regardless of whether the light is on or off, and that’s why I needed a more advanced computer system to retrieve those stored codes. Your response only reinforces my belief that your shop was not capable of handling the issue, and I’m glad I found a more qualified shop that could take care of my car.

This is the only place I will take a car I own. We had been having a coolant leak and the tech found it was the water pump had gone. The shop got us back one the road the next day and no issues. Thanks again Preston.

Excellent service. Best brake repair and axles in Portland, or Beaverton. It's like taking your car to family they're honest and quick. They even loaned me a car so I could get to work easier. They are so good.

We took my wife's 2007 Lexus RX 350 in because the "check engine light" was on and they helped us get everything fixed. We dropped the car off on a Friday morning and retrieved it Tuesday afternoon. Their communication was wonderful and did a fantastic job giving us options for fixing with the price associated to each option. My parents have gone to them for years and as long as we're in Portland we'll be returning for our car needs!
