I am extremely satisfied with Dragonfly Automotive in San Diego. I researched AAA Approved Repair Shops in San Diego to locate a reliable auto mechanic and found a listing of 40 shops in San Diego. After reviewing all of them on the Internet, I decided to go with Dragonfly Automotive. Julio from Dragonfly was excellent explaining details of the different options of tires with pricing and warrantees. When I took the car in for the service, the steering wheel was shaking; however, after 4 tires were replaced and aligned, the shaking problem was gone. The service was completed promptly. I had to get the job done on Sat, and they completed the service on the same day. I also got an AAA discount, which was great. I strongly recommend Dragonfly Automotive to my family and friends. First time visiting DragonFLy Automotive and it wont be my last. I only had an oil change but they were very helpful, knowledgable and quick. I hope I do not need repairs or service on my 2019 Honda CRV but if I do I will be visiting DragonFly Automotive.

They tried to scam me saying I had to replace the motor mounts and it would be over $2000 so I took it elsewhere to my friend's mechanic who is more trustworthy he said they are totally fine and don't need to be replaced. They kept my car at the shop for multiple days saying that there were delays not once but twice so it had to stay there longer. Then the mechanic in charge of it was gone for a week which is convenient for them so someone else took over and told us that there were other issues, he didn't even seem to know what the mechanic in charge of it was supposed to take care of. And they charged me additionally for the inspection when they were supposed to include the inspection without cost for the repairs we did get. I don't understand why they have such high ratings if they're doing stunts like this but I guess a hustle is a hustle.

I had a loose skid plate. I very easily scheduled an appointment online within a very reasonable timeframe. The staff was extremely nice and the location convenient, clean, organized. I was done within 20 minutes and was not charged for an easily fixed problem. As I am a new customer, they won over my future automotive repair business.

Super pleasant experience coming here! Service was really helpful, mechanics were nice and made sure I understood everything that was on my estimate, and they were very accommodating with me and my weird scheduling conflicts when I was dealing with travel issues 😅 Not to mention, they got my brakes done quick and had a decent office area for me to work in while I waited. Heads up: If you’re planning on waiting for your car to get done, it looked like there was an Italian and Brazilian restaurant nextdoor, but not really any other food options nearby (within walking distance), but they did have teas and coffees stocked in the waiting room.

Total waste of my time. You owe me 1/2 hour of my life and wasted your employee call center time falsely advertising you clean diesel particulate filters. Poor explanation from both locations how to prevent others from wasting time means the dreaded and very rare ONE Star...

Terrible experience with dragonfly automotive. I brought my vehicle in to get the sloppy steering fixed. From what I could tell it was the steering gear box. They determined the pitman arm needed replacing. Ended up taking a week for them to let me know they couldn’t find the part to do the job. They also got me a parking ticket for leaving my vehicle in the street. They wouldn’t refund their ridiculously high “vehicle inspection fee” and didn’t fix my issue I went to them for. Manager on site was not nice or helpful. I came here because I saw good reviews but they must be using a software to filter out the bad reviews. Unbelievably terrible experience. Would never recommend this place to anyone I know.

Took it in because my brake skipped when you would press on them slightly. Had code pop up and go away! They told me no charge to run the codes! Or $220 to run a full brake diagnostic! Told them to check it correctly. Was told they could not get codes. That the brakes, routers, and a fluid should be flushed out. Spark plugs and air filters!! Was charged $2500! And the main reason why I took it in was absolutely ignored. My brake still jump! The noise is still there when you press on the brakes! And now I hear an additional knocking noise when I press on the brakes. What upsets me the most is! Got the vehicle this morning And within hours I had the same issues. Was it not tested??? Never going back to this place! The main reason was ignored Update: Dan did reach out to me! That staff is polite, they probably my give great service. However, they did a terrible job on my end. No i will not take it back! Please dont text me getting political about the reasoning of my review. Dan text to tell me he deserve a second opportunity to alleviate my concern. Sent me the full inspection, which wasn't given to me the following day. Stated my tires are bad! That comment really upset me! Why? Tell me they did not test the vehicle. They are not aware of what type of skipping the brake were doing when you would apply them. How is it going to be the wheel if the wheels are not even rotating 360. The brake are skipping from a catch and go..when you apply the brake. As you slightly release. And the ABS should apply. They dont! They skip During this skip you hear a hizzing sound. The sound is louder when when brakes are fully press. No its not normal because the vehicle never made that sound. And now it does. Did you inspect the brake pump? Did you inspect the other parts. You all just when straight to over charging me for preventive maintenance. It fine the vehicle need the parts but its not the reason why I went! No i will not return And the vehicle will head to the dealer once i recover from this cost

Automotive problems are never wanted! But nice thing is I feel like these guys actually have my back... Been using them for a couple years! I had to get an oil change asap and found Dragonfly Automotive on groupon for a quick and easy service. I showed up to see if they had any availability and Alejandro was able to manage a last minute appointment. Very grateful to have come across this shop. It was quick and it included an inspection which Alejandro was able to report back on some things my car needed. I will definitely be coming back for new brakes with them soon. A life saver!

Professional honest service! Highly recommend!! I've had a few issues with my car since being shipped from overseas on a military move and the team at Dragonfly have helped with solving those items (AC and tires/sensors), as well as regular maintenance (oil change and checks). The staff is very friendly and make practical recommendations to ensure problems are resolved with no excessive work or charges. I'm so glad I found this shop!

Although it took a long time to accomplish, they were thoughtful, thorough and considerate. I held back one star until I have driven my car a while. I was advised to drive for a week and return for an inspection. When I returned the technician determined that the sparkplug wireless, and one ignition coil needed replacement. After replacing these parts and installing new sparkplugs my car was returned to me by the end of the day. It is my pleasure to once again have my car repairs completed by the Team at Dragonfly.

Amazing and friendly staff, quick service and no BS up selling at the end. I rarely leave an auto shop feeling like I can trust what recommendations they have, but after my experience here I would 100% do what they suggested because they really seem to be looking out for the customer first and foremost

My Audi Q5 SUV engine crashed at 133,000 miles. It happened on a Saturday….and I had to have it towed…somewhere. I Googled shops that worked on Audi’s. Didn’t have good experiences w the dealerships. I saw Dragonfly…got good reviews….and open Sat. So I took a chance and called them. Tom said they had someone who specializes in Audi’s. I had it towed over…which is in a fairly convenient location. I really thought I was going to have to get another car. It took a couple of days to evaluate. The diagnosis was…the engine was gone. Tom said to give him a few days to see what he could do. They called me w a reworked engine…with all new parts…installed at a reasonable price (still Really A lot!!) BUT…..much ..much better than having to invest in another car. And Now…my car purrs …..and runs like a top. I was impressed w the professionalism and organization. They got this done in a very short time as well. All in all….for such a horrible thing happening….Dragonfly made it the best experience and outcome.

Talk to Tom and Julio. I had them service and do body work on two different cars. Straight talk. Reliable work. Fair pricing and I trust them enough to write this 5-star recommendation! Update: Luis helped me yesterday and he was great too. Besides oil changes I have them do the maintenance required by Nissan. I trust them to do what needs to be done at a fair price. (Some dealers always seem to find extra stuff.) Further update, 2021: Still highly recommended. Fast forward to October 2024. My included maintenance on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid just expired. Rather than pay the dealer, I was happy to return to Dragonfly. Different people but the same friendly trustworthy service.

I have been working with Julio at Dragonfly automotive for more than a decade. He is so helpful and professional. The team makes sure that I understand everything that is going on with my car every time I come to the shop. He has integrity and it shows in his work and the work of everyone on his team. I will not go anywhere else.
