I’ve been a loyal customer of Discount Tire for years, and my recent experience with Stephen Bixby only reinforced why I keep coming back! I’ve known for some time that I needed new tires, but Stephen’s honesty and integrity truly stood out. He turned me away twice, assuring me that I still had enough tread left and should return in a few months. Today, I finally came back and was ready for new tires! Stephen was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to help me choose the best tires for my car while keeping my budget in mind. As someone who isn’t an expert when it comes to cars, I genuinely appreciated his transparency—he could have easily sold me tires months ago, but instead, he prioritized my safety and budget. Not only did he recommend replacing just two tires instead of all four, but he also provided outstanding customer service throughout the entire process. He told me the service would take about an hour, but they finished in half the time! I’m incredibly thankful for Stephen’s assistance and professionalism. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and customer-focused experience, I highly recommend Discount Tire. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

Got 4 new tires for about 450$, picked up my Lexus and they said that my lug locks broke. Gave me back the broken pieces, and let me drive off with 4 lugs on each tire, after trying to charge me full price for replacements. Super unprofessional. Could have offered a discount or something at least considering THEY broke them. Lame.

The professional crew at this store provided exceptional service. I needed a tire replaced and installed on my Airstream and they had the correct tire and did it on the spot. Have been coming here since 1995 with all of my family cars and never have had a bad experience.

I paid $700 at this Discount Tire location. they completely botched my tire installation. One of the tires was installed in reverse, and they didn’t even tighten the bolts properly. I’ve been driving for a month with strange noises when braking, only to find out it was their mistake all along. This is a huge safety hazard, and I could have been seriously injured due to their negligence. This kind of careless work is unacceptable, and I wouldn’t trust this location with my car again. Check your tires carefully if you come here!

Excellent customer service! Came here for the free tire rotation and they found a nail in my tire, which of course they fixed for free also. I won't buy tires anywhere else. I'm a Discount Tire lifetime customer! And they had a treat for my dog! Haha

Avoid this location. They alleged additional parts needed replacement when they were fully functional when car was dropped off. They refused to complete the service (computer relearning process) because they said it could not be done because I did not agree to the extra work. After I picked up the vehicle, and following the instructions in the manual, I reset the system in five minutes. This place is just scammers looking to take advantage of customers to increase business.

Had a great experience in changing my wheels and tires. David was Very professional from the beginning of answering the phone call and making an appointment to installing the wheels and tires. I've been buying and having tires rotated at this store for decades (yes, since the 90's). It's close to home, and their service has always been great. Ah! Yes, every now and then I also stop by to get a FREE tire pressure check. Great crew!

I've been buying tires from Discount for 20 years across 3 states, and was fantastic each time. A water cooler for customers would be an improvement, though. Buy online and schedule an appointment. Couldn't be easier! Seamless tire mileage credit (I had rotated at discount tire, too) and even used my own TPMS sensors that I brought in.

I needed new tires, but didn't want to pay dealer prices, so I chose Discount Tires. I went to their website (not via the app), chose my tires, paid, and made an appointment for today at 12:45 pm. I showed up, checked in via the link they texted me with, and was in and out of there in 45 minutes. No hassle, no haggle, no up-selling, just an easy and smooth transaction. Thank you!!!

I was helped today by a young man at Discount Tire after I got a flat. I was hoping to have my tire repaired or replaced but was deceived instead. The man helping me took one look at my tires, which are in good condition, and immediately told me the tread was much too worn to be safe and that I should instead replace all 4 tires. He measured the tread depth with his device and told me that my two front tires were at 2/32" while my back tires were at 3/32", necessitating immediate replacement. Wary of his certainty, I asked to see the readings on his device, to which he replied they were no longer available "as the device had wiped them". He suggested we remeasure the treads if I really wanted to see the numbers, to which I agreed. Upon his second measurement and my oversight, my tires were reading at 5/32" and 6/32", much higher than his original "reading", which he deemed "weird". It was clear he had lied to me about the previous readings, which made me lose faith in him and Discount Tire and prompted me to take my business elsewhere. I will not be returning here again and recommend all patrons to carefully oversee their work and take any of their suggestions with a grain of salt.

I went to this store a couple days ago because there's a screw on my tire. he (I don't remember his name) looked at it and said it can't be fixed because the screw is on the edge of the tire, so he said I need new tire. I wasn't sure to what he said, so I left and took my car to a different store and they fixed it right away and didn't even remove it from the car. It's the second time that I had the same experience with this store. The first time had happened a few months ago and they said the same thing, the tire can't be fixed, and offered me to replace the tire. At that time, they offered me the used one that they had available with the same brand and size, but I refused and went to different store and got it fixed. I am still using the tire until today without any problems. I am very disappointed with the service and in doubt of their knowledge and professionalism.

Their people are super nice and it's quite rare that this is one of those tire shops that still will not overcharge you with junk fees. 5 star will always go here.

Excellent customer service! Because of this they are likely busy but schedule an appointment and they will have you out of their in a timely fashion. Huge plus that they will change my boat trailer tires as well!

This was my go-to store for 20 years but the last few times i have been here i had to return to have issues corrected. recently after replacing the tires on my truck i had a slow leak & bad vibration. after having them correct the leak & rebalance the wheels i still had to remove the the wheels again at home to clean adhesive from the previous incorrect wheel weights. today after returning home from my most recent visit i found 1.75oz of wheel weights sitting on the ground that had fallen off the wheel. overall these are minor issues but they are mistakes that have been a hassle or inconvenience and required me to return & have the issue corrected.

It is rare these days to have a positive experience to share. But I do! I had a problem with tire pressure on Saturday. While they couldn't do a diagnostic that day, they filled my tire and scheduled me for first thing Monday. They quickly diagnosed the issue, identified another minor issue that they offered to address, and did so quickly, efficiently, and at no cost! I was treated with patience and respect, and will recommend them to everyone.

It's always a negative - nail in tire, slow leak, balding tires, etc.- turned into a positive once I drive into Discount Tire on Balboa. They promptly attend to the problems and before long all tire issues are past history. And they are SO nice!!

Truck sensors kept indicating low tire pressure in one of my tires. I was able to make an appointment the same day I called. In less than 30 minutes they installed a new tire and even checked the lug nuts on my other tires to make sure they were tight. Every employee is always friendly and professional. That, and their low prices, are why I keep coming back.

Hi — I had a good experience replacing the popped tire on my 2015 white Ford fusion Saturday yesterday (10/28) but was told I could pick it up today morning (Sunday 10/29). I went to the Clairemont location and it was closed today, and I'm now stranded in San Diego and desperately need to get to Los Angeles today. If someone could get back to me ASAP, that would be great.

Great service. On Tuesday I had a flat tire and brought my car to Discount Tire, they were able to recommend the tire and service I needed. I left my car and came back within couple of hours and they had fix the tire. I really appreciate their quick service and their price. I highly recommend them for your next tire service.
