Dillons' Auto... is the place to-go-to for me. Didn't go for a major mechanical work, but they have the best reception, honest evaluation, and sound advice. Today I went for inspection for registration, full car service, and to repair a flat tire. "You don't need a car service because you drove only 3000 miles since the last service (oil change, filters, break check etc.) Come after 1 or two thousands. The tire can't be repaired, go get a new one at .XYZ...., but you can go another 5000 miles on these tires, and here is your report to get a new sticker." $18.50 Total. They "COULD'VE" but they didn't take advantage of me, old, partially senile, good looking and rammed me with new tires and royal services for a few hundred dollars. I would've paid. What choice did I have? And Danny was outstanding, friendly, and fast. One drawback, though, next time I'll take my mug of coffee with me. They have a great waiting room but no coffee, and no cookies.

I’ve been taking my car and my wife’s cars to Dillons for a few years, and they are always honest and reliable. They explain everything clearly, don’t push for extra repairs, and their prices are very fair. The service is great, and we trust them completely. If you need a good, honest auto shop, I recommend Dillons!

Dillon’s service is always awesome, and is the only place I would take my car on the west side of Katy/Fulshear. They never try to sell me anything I don’t need, but they always let me know the condition of various aspects of my car, and when they may become an issue that needs to be addressed. They are simply the best.

In November, I sought out Dillon's Auto for their used vehicle inspection service ($250) on a 2008 Lexus ES 350 before purchasing. According to their website under 'Auto Services > Auto Inspection > Used Vehicle inspection', as well as a phone call with them, this was supposed to be a comprehensive evaluation that would overly assure me of my purchase for a used car, noted by its higher price compared to their basic inspection ($50). If you check out other mechanics, they seem to typically charge ~$150 for a PPI. They checked the vehicle out and kept it overnight for inspection. I called them back the next day when it was ready and asked how much the repairs would cost, and their opinion on if the car would be a good purchase based on this information. I was provided a brief overview of what the repairs would cost, and that the vehicle would in fact be a good purchase considering its state and make/model. The highest price I was told for one of the repairs was $900, which I was told would be a worse case scenario for fixing the radiator. I was told a couple of other numbers which were lower, so I was convinced that the maximum repair costs would be about $2,000. So based on what they had just told me, my past experience with them, and their positive reputation + reviews, I decided to follow through and purchase the vehicle. However, after I brought the car back to Dillon's for the repairs to be completed, I was told a total cost which was several thousands more than I was expecting, a significant portion of the car's value (~75%). To be precise, the car was purchased for $8.5k before TTL, and I was quoted ~$6890 for the repairs. I was told that the repairs were listed on the sheet I received. While it seemed that most of repairs were listed, they were not listed in the same detail compared to after purchasing the car, there was no cost listed and in my opinion the crossover from the pre purchase inspection to the after purchase inspection was not nearly similar enough. One example of this would be the blown power steering rack which I don't see a specific mention of on the initial report. I am not extremely knowledgeable and admit it could be conveyed in a way that I don't understand, the initial report lists dark power steering fluid, and that the rack & pinion boots were torn, not the entire rack itself which needed to be replaced. However, I think everyone realizes that it is part of the shops job to "translate" to the customer, and at least inform them that these two symptoms could result in a much higher repair cost than predicted. This is frankly besides the point though, I was not told anything near what the actual total costs to repair the vehicle would be despite paying for an expensive PPI, which is a massive deal, if not the entire point of a pre purchase inspection. Even then I still decided to authorize them to complete the repairs despite knowing the price, I had looked up the costs and determined I might save some money, given that another shop would have had to inspect the car themselves and then repair it, and that Dillon's might discount me for their mishandling of the situation. I communicated all of this to them and received a modest discount, about 9% in total (In the end I paid a total of ~$6,550 vs. an actual total of ~$7,150) Which I don't feel was even close to enough, which is why I am leaving a review. I understand that it is not Dillon's responsibility to micro manage me through a car purchase, but I clearly asked what the repairs costs would be and was not told an accurate number. Obviously I wouldn't have bought the car if I knew. If this were a matter of $500 I would simply take my loss and move on, but spending nearly $5,000 more than expected is just insane.

On my way home from work today, my tire pressure light came on. When I got home, I found a nail or screw in the tread of my tire with air coming out of the tire. I was not sure what to do since it was about 445, then I remembered I pass by Dillons on my way home everyday. Instead of calling the dealership (who would recommend tire replacement and not even try to fix the hole and likely closing in about 10min), I sped over to Dillons near Seven Lakes HS. Tommy was super nice and told me he could take care of my tire quickly. Tire is as good as new. He didnt even charge me for fixing the hole in my tire. Tommy and Dillons definitely earned my future business for my auto needs!

Called early in the morning to see if they could get me in and out for my breaks which I knew they all had to be replaced. They were able to get me in and out within 4-5 hours and were beyond honest in their pricing. 10/10 I would recommend to anyone!

My NEW brakes (installed by dealer) had been squealing for the past 5+ months and only seem to be getting worse. I didn't like the cost that I was quoted by the dealership to replace new brake pads. So, I had decided to seek a 2nd opinion. I had searched on Next Door and Dillon's Automotive was recommended. I had communicated with Tommy and Danny during my visit--great first impressions. They respected my time and listened to me as I explained my problem. And they respected my money. There was no charge to check brakes and there was ZERO pressure to spend money at their shop. They answered my questions, and we agreed on a solution which cost much less than what the dealership had quoted. And let me tell you, I drove my car next day and there was NO squealing. Gone are the days of being embarrassed as I exit my job's parking garage and house's garage. I will definitely be back for any future repairs. Thank you Dillon's Automotive.

They called me over the phone and explained the diagnosis… It was more than I could afford. They were kind enough to prioritize what was immediately necessary to get running while planning non-crucial repairs later to work within my budget.

Spoke to someone on the phone, I believe they were the owner, and I was told things completely different than I was told when I showed up in person. Typical mechanics misrepresenting themselves just to get you in the door. Even worse, the people who I spoke to in person, including Rick, seemed amateurs in customer relations and seemed rather clueless when discussing the issue with my Tahoe. I don’t know how this place is so well reviewed, maybe they’re mostly fake reviews, but I suggest going somewhere else. This place is your typical scam mechanic. Avoid at all costs. Don’t waste your time with these amateurs.

I went in to fix my right indicator lights that were flickering fast today. It turned out to be the bulb element that burnt out. The team replaced the bulb at no cost, no fuss in less than 1 hour. I just had a large spending fixing my house, and small gestures like this is nice. This is why they have such excellent reputation in our area, including being honest and customer-focused.
