Costly misdiagnosis of the issue. The vehicle 'ran' for a day. Owner was quite defensive upon learning the issue had returned, and clearly stated 2 hours free (not 8) to try and properly diagnose, but we had lost confidence. I do believe they acted in good faith however. To be fair, another shop also misdiagnosed, but still spending $1500 on a part that wasn't the issue is a big problem.

This is my go-to spot!! Ive never had such an honest mechanic who worked so hard to keep me safely on the road for cheap, and often on short notice. Such a nice guy, Dave (the name on the sign) is the guy you deal with! I wish i could tip him the moon!

Dave worked on my 2008 volvo s60. It needed well worn shocks and struts. I also thought some other parts were worn out. Dave checked the car and found somethings not worn out and somethings were. Dave was honest and didn't replace the parts not needed. Very well could have. He was upfront about price and estimated time complete. Am super happy with my new smooth old ride. 5 stars

I had a car emergency while taking my daughter to Rileys hospital. I was afraid to drive my car , but needed to get home a few hours away. The owner dave was very helpful and was quick to fit us in. He was very knowledgeable and helped me get back on the road in no time. Customer service was top notch.

While visting my daughter in Indy, the lower radiator hose on my Lincoln Mark LT pickup started to fail. I new it was a bear of a job, and decided not to tackle it myself. Dave got me into his shop quickly, and replaced the hose at a very fair rate while I waited (on very comfortable couch with complimentary coffee). Dave is a fine young man. Courteous, knowledgeable, and reliable. His operation is immaculate and efficient. This was the best auto repair experience I've had. I recommend Dave's Mechanics without reservation.

Dave is very unprofessional. I will never go there and I will never recommend anyone to his shop. He fixed my Mercedes issue, 3 days later it malfunctioned. Took it back he fixed it again. Same day I heard a grinding sound when I turned right. Called Dave about this, Dave snapped on me and refused to look at my vehicle without a$70 fee. He refused to drive my vehicle and obviously he didn’t test drive it before he gave it back to me. Horrible customer service. My vehicle was not making this noise before he worked on my vehicle.

Just had an inspection and a fuel pump replacement done on my husband's car and we are absolutely going back here for any work that we're not doing ourselves. I've had mechanics where I felt reasonably confident about their work, but Dave's is the first place I've actually full-on trusted. Pricing is great, especially given the quality of the work. Highly recommended!

We had a work van break down on 1-70; they had it towed, diagnosed, and back on the road a week before other mechanics were even available for an appointment. Great customer service and very reliable. They understood how important it was as a small business for us to get our van back on the road. Definitely our new go-to mechanic.

Dave is very personable and an honest guy. Does good work. Doesn’t nickel and dime you. Tells you what needs to be fixed now and what can be fixed later. He explains everything to you and takes the time to answer questions. As a woman I don’t feel intimidated or taken advantage of here either. I usually dislike car appointments because, well, it’s the mechanic and I don’t know much. Dave’s i don’t mind coming if I have to because I’m not being taken advantage of. Will be my forever mechanic for as long as I’m in Indy.

Dave’s Mechanic Shop is hands down the best in Indy! They did outstanding work on my exhaust and even installed a decal on my Charger with precision and care. The quality of their work is exceptional, and their prices are very fair. I highly recommend Dave’s shop to anyone looking for reliable and top-notch service. Had some big miscommunication from a lady upfront and myself, and I jumped to conclusions and got angry for obviously no reason. But I tell you what I’ve been around the car industry and Towing and other stuff in the city for over 20 years and I’ve only ever heard positive things about Dave and his shop. After the miscommunication was figured out, he called me while he was off of work and explained everything to me thoroughly. He did not have to do that. That just goes to show. What kind of guy Dave really is I wish nothing but the best to Dave and everyone at that shop, and I will use him in the future for any and All repairs on any of my vehicles. Just a sidenote, this guy has the absolute best mechanic prices for foreign and domestic vehicles in the city hands-down no questions asked. Thanks again Dave and your group.

After having some transmission skipping issues for months on my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, I spent all day searching shop reviews and came across Daves shop and set up an appointment. I cannot express enough how great working with this shop is. Theres seemingly not much their team can't do. Dave did a COMPLETE inspection of my car and told me the things in great shape, things in okay shape and things to keep an eye on for future repairs down the road with detailed high def photos and graphs of longevity. My car drives like a dream again and has had zero issues since. Finally getting around to writing this review but ya'll for the price and quality of service, this place is UNMATCHED! TLDR; Don't waste your time at other shops, this place is the one! 10/10

Stranded an hour before the shop closing in pouring rain, 800 miles from home. This shop went out of their way to try and get us back on the road that evening, staying after closing trying to solve the issue. Although unsuccessful Dave said come back in the morning as they had to contact dealership. Returned at 8 first one did not have the part, 2nd call located the part which was 40 minutes away. He sent one of his guys, Returned and had the part installed in record time, and we were good to go. Every single person was off the charts kind and helpful. If I lived closer this would be my go to shop. Cannot say enough positive about this shop.

Dave and crew were FANTASTIC. they communicated well, got us in quickly and took extra care of our vehicle. We live in Bloomington and we were making a trip to Indianapolis when our car broke down. Great shop. Took our Honda to two other shops and they were unable to repair the vehicle. Took it to Dave's Mechanic shop, and they were able to pinpoint the problem (And tell us it wasn't worth our money trying to fix it! Wish someone told us earlier)

I took my 2006 Volvo S6 R2 Dave’s auto after going through a lot of ups and downs, finding the right mechanic and eyes and hands that New what type of car I had. He told me before he began Dave. He said I’m going to take care of this car and he thanked me for bringing my car to his shop. I’ve never heard anyone thank me for bringing my vehicle to them when I am the one in dire need that I have peace of mind immediately and that’s what you need when you do business especially with not just a car but our hobbies are joy our toys as big boys. He began to work on my car kept me updated with the processes online up-to-date diagnostics that I can review the service orders everything they inspected down to the minute detail verbally we communicated through the entire process is very open and available in. Jen is awesome. They are very educated in mechanics and performance and maintenance. Overall on any type of vehicle you feel the passion and when you drive there, it’s a beautiful roundabout cul-de-sac and it’s very maintained manicured feels good man it’s out of the way and the mechanic staff there greet you and they’re walking with their chest out. You see you feel the pride there everyone feels like they know they’re doing certified technicians. It doesn’t get any better than that. I’m giving all of my to do list for this car my hobby two days and we’re doing it the right way and do it right the first time so you don’t have mistakes full engine rebuild tear down turbo rebuild tear down every component that I needed plus things that I wanted projected to be done. We’re going to do it from the sourcing to the inspections to the install to the diagnostics to the trials to the completion he can do it all go to Dave’s if you want your vehicle taken care of trust me Volvo community. This is where it’s at anyone performance wise. Do you know what I’m talking about you wanna come here thanks Dave thanks Jen thanks guys. You guys really should make some stickers I’m just saying.

Recently I took my Jeep to Dave's. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. From Jen at the front desk who was very helpful in getting me in immediately to Dave himself who introduced himself when he came in in the morning and definitely let me know that he was totally ready to do what was needed to get my business and keep it. After repairs were done we found that a previous repair was backwards and Dave only charged me for the part. My good ol Jeep drives like a dream again. Thank you! To anyone wondering whether or not they should trust these folks for their repairs I say wholeheartedly that you really must go!
