Purchased a Subaru from the owner of this garage. Before I gave him the payment, he allowed the car needed a head gasket and the repair was done by their mechanic, at his garage. After the purchase, the car broke down days later, and needed a new engine. Owner refused to help me with repair nor offered any restitution and was less than hospitable on the phone!! Worst car buying experience ever!!

I do not recommend to use this repair shop and I will not be coming back. Charlie is not honest!!! I still had an issue with my car from a problem he said he fixed. Mechanic who I brought it to afterwards fixed it for cheaper and the fuel problem didn't return!! Beer bottles in the repair shop visible from customer lobby!!

Worst place ever, needs to learn some manors...had my car for over a week to do a four hour timing chain..I personally think I was over charged $2350.00 for a timing chain. It lasted two weeks before breaking down again....he looked at my car and wanted $900.00 more to fix it.... I brought my car to another place they fixed my car perfectly..oh for $150.00 . The other shop took photos of loss or no tightened down bolts....my two intake and out take sencors were not tightened at all...and three loss bolts on the head...also for some reason one of my injectors was loss....I am filling. Stay away from this place...don't let his big smile fool ya.... I give him no stars

Charlie and his crew are awesome and really know what they're doing. They're very thorough about diagnosing issues and getting to the root of the problem. When they find issues, they take time to walk you through how they found the problem and what options you have. Turnaround time on repairs is quick - even big jobs only took a day or two. Charlie's also great about sourcing parts for a good price and he's very upfront about the cost breakdown. You really can't find a better shop than this one.

I was passing through the area and heard my car make some bad noises. They looked at my car as soon as I brought it in, and were very open about the issue. They showed me where the problem was, what it would take to fix it, and saved me a huge expense. I wish they were in every state! Best car service I have ever had.

I went there with high hopes. The owner made a lot promises. He did not return my calls for weeks or my messages. He also attempted to perform work on a car I did not ask for. I had to get the police involved due to owner Threats and holding my vehicle. Luckily local PD has had problems with shop in the past, and helped me get my car back with out charges. Know your rights , CT has laws protecting us from fraud, and scammer artist like Danbury Autowerks. They have to have written proof of everything, and written consent. Stay away from this violent shop. They will try and take your money , and make promises they can’t keep.

I've been going here for about a year. Charlie is friendly and straightforward and is now my preferred mechanic in the area. I have brought my Golf R to AutoWerks about 4 or 5 times now, and they've been professional and reasonable about getting the work done that I need, and leaving me feeling confident in what was done. Finding a new mechanic once the auto dealer warranties are up has always been an issue for me, because you quite often don't know what you're going to be getting until you experience it firsthand. So to find a local mechanic I can trust has been refreshing, and keeps me from having to pay bloated dealership fees to get work done on the car. Recommended!

This repair shop is absolutely fantastic. They are completely fair, and keep you in the loop on everything. When we first went in, we thought one of our cars needed a heater core replacement. Charlie and his crew looked into the problem and found it was a much less intense repair. They've always been honest and upfront about what they're doing. They have good prices and everyone in the shop is really friendly. If you are looking for a repair definitely give them a call.

Very professional and knowledgeable, I’ve been having vibrations coming into my cabin in my bmw since I bought it, took it to several mechanics and no one could figure it out. I took it to Danbury Autowerks for a brake job and they ended up finding that I needed a new axle and control arms which was the cause of my shaking. I can now say my car is now vibration free and I would recommend them to anyone. They aren’t just mechanics, they’re specialists.

Amazing service, was treated like a king! I had a work van that the calipers locked up and made it impossible to drive more than 10 mph. these guys moved at lighting speed, hopped on my van, and got it done the same day. Best part was - they could have charged me an arm and a leg - but no, professional from start to finish, even with the bill!

Charlie is the MAN. He always has a tech to do the tough jobs like camshaft replacement, turbo replacement injector replacements on my Jetta TDI. They know the details...because its their specialty. No other shops want to even try. Routine things like brakes and such are always reasonable and done on time as promised!

Charlie, the Owner at Danbury AutoWerks is the BEST! I went to another mechanic's garage, before I met Charlie, with a check engine light issue on my BMW. The other, mechanic's shop, before I met Charlie, gave me an inflated estimate (over $1,000) that included work that wasn't needed, or related to my check engine light issue to pass the CT emissions test. The warranty ran out on my Audi and I had some fairly significant repairs to do so I researched independent auto shops that had decent ratings to try to save money. Danbury AutoWerks had a decent number of reviews with the fewest complaints so I decided to give them a try. The gentleman at the front desk was professional and courteous and they asked me to bring in the car for an evaluation so I was impressed with the customer facing service. I was taken aback by the work recommendation. I was looking to replace the piston rings. What they came back with was a much larger job. Even that was ok but where they lost me was when they recommended I also replace the timing chain - which I had just replaced less than 20K miles ago. Also their price was 50% higher than the estimate from the dealership (maybe because of the timing chain suggestion?). Regardless I decided to not use their service. I was not going to write a review up to that point but when I picked up my car to drive it home there was a large clunk when I got on the highway and my wife who was following me told me something under the car was dragging on he ground. It turned out that they had taken the skid guard off of the bottom of my car and did not put it back. As a result a part of the engine compartment cover fell down and was dragging on the ground. They fixed it when I turned right around and took the car back to the shop but this was sloppy work. Luckily no one got hurt and nothing was damaged but I felt that I dodged a bullet. What if had elected to hire them to fix the car and they left a part unattached? It could have ruined the car.

They really helped me out the first time I went there. My wife had an emergency and they got the car done early for me. Was a bit pricey but because of the way they helped me, I was okay with it. Then about a week later and one of the problems returned. They fixed for free but it never felt the same since then. I called again to see about a timing belt service but the dealership gave me a better price. I always prefer going to local places rather than big chains and I will definitely go back. I will update my review accordingly.

After a few other shops couldn't figure out the electrical issues (needed jump start to run, but otherwise would run fine), Charlie and Doug were able to take on my project of a car! Within only a week, they were able to keep me updated, explain what the issues were (terminals + electrical), and even gave a fantastic & fair price for their work. I'm very grateful that the team was able to diagnose and fix the issues on my vehicle, as other shops didn't want to take on the project, or weren't able to diagnose what was occurring. My sports car is now able to turn on and off without needing a jump start each time (which could've left me stranded at various places), and I now only need minor fixes such as new brakes and a headlight adjustment. The E-Brake light/sensor that would stay on at random is also fixed. I'd highly recommend Danbury AutoWerks for their timely & efficient work, as well as their honesty and professionalism. Charlie and Doug were able to keep me updated and determine the cause of the issues. Would 100% return to resolve any mystery issues or major problems on my car, and recommend them to anyone else struggling with a mystery or project! Thank You!
