Great service, but a little pricey

I brought my Honda accord here for a clutch change, they changed the disk, and the car ran amazing. Unfortunately, I forgot that when doing the clutch, the rear main seal is also vital! I got the car back and everything was great for a few days, until the car started pouring out good amounts of oil, and it was from the rear main seal, I never asked for it to be replaced due to forgetting. Them being the mechanic I think they should have offered to change the rear main seal or remind me, I would have paid extra, it’s right there when the trans is already out and they tend to go bad after replacing transmission parts due to more pressure on certain parts.

When the bite point of my clutch was getting really high and I noticed the clutch was slipping while driving on 295 to a friend's holiday party I knew I needed to get the clutch checked out. I called Cottman transmission on Monday, dropped the car off in the evening right before closing, they checked it out, and called me Tuesday morning saying that they can order the parts and get the clutch fixed by the next day. I came back Wednesday morning and driving the car felt great, they gave me some guidance on what to look for in how the clutch is adjusted and asked I come in for a follow up in a few days to make sure everything is working great. The staff is great to work with and the turn around time is quick.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Cottman for Years, and so have my family and friends. I just picked up my 2001 Purple Jeep wrangler, and it purrrs like a new kitty and rides like it is on clouds!! My Jeep was shaking so when I went to get alignment I told them at another autoshop they told me to get my tires balanced. Took it to Ron totally my Ujoints he diagnosed it correctly along with some drums for brakes and it's like a new car. Thank you Ron and Team for fixing my baby an being honest. Folks they are reasonable and uses great parts and guarantees the work! Keep up the great work!!

My 2014jeep Cherokee was taken to cottman transmission for transmission repair s and the work was completed in a timely manner I trust cottman 100percent they are definitely dependable and give you a straight up reasonable price for the work needed to be done I am very pleased with the work was done to my vehicle I would recommend anyone to get any work needed on your vehicle to take it to cottman transmission Dan and Liz thank you.

This place is awesome! I was very worried about having my truck potentially out of commission for weeks and / or months as I was told by multiple other transmission shops that that may be the case. Not here! They immediately looked at my truck and diagnosed the problem within minutes. I ended up needing to rebuild entirely. When I very hesitantly asked how long before they would have it back to me, I was shocked by their answer "by Tuesday" (it was Thursday). I couldn't recommend these guys more!

A great old school mentality garage. They won't try to sell you something that you don't need. I came in thinking my CV joints were shot and instead they found something else that a different shop had overlooked and was a quick fix. Honest and very reputable place that I would recommend to anyone.

Phillip was super polite and extremely quick with the service! I called around noon and had my car towed, checked, and fixed before 4 p.m. The best part is that the prices were the most reasonable that I could find at any auto repair shop. I would definitely recommend Cottman Transmission. I plan to switch to them for all of my servicing needs.

My initial experience was great but only got 50,000 out of the supposed to be completely rebuilt transmission. When brought back with slipping in second gear only option given was to rebuild again at full price. And before a diagnosis is given you are required to agree for the repair at max cost even though it might be less. When asked for a print out there was none to be given which makes me to believe diagnosis and possible cost was based off a test drive transmission is having different symptoms from my initial rebuild ...

These guys are great! If you're looking for a company that does the job right and does it fast then look no further, I'll start off by saying that I got three other quotes before I called Ron at Cottman and all the other companies that gave me quotes was super quick and acted like they were in a hurry and really didn't have time for me but when I talked with Ron at Cottman and explained to him that I pull a trailer 6 days a week he spent the next 15 min explaining my options from stock to I would say built up ( built to pull trailer) and to be honest his built up price was better than 2 of the other quotes that would have been just stock rebuilds. Ron said he would have it done 2 days he called me the next morning said it's pretty much done just waiting on a part from UPS to finish and then called about 1pm same day and said it was done. I wanted to pull my trailer for a week or 2 before I left a review and I have, all I can say is I'm super happy pulls better than ever shifts great and fast (Corvette servos) when I leave from a red light Im to 45 real quick pulling a trailer to and it used to take me forever to get to 45. Thanks Ron! Appreciate you and everyone at Cottman! I normally dont leave reviews but I rarely see service like this and wanted to give credit where credit is do Eric L.
