I came to Cordova auto center number 5 a little over a month ago after my rear differential gave out. They said they would get one from a pick and pull and freshen up the seals and do the works to make sure it’s in good condition before installing it in my truck. They did not at all do a good job, they installed my rear lift blocks backwards.. not upside down, backwards and the differential was leaking after they installed it. I took it back and told them this along with telling them my 4x4 no longer works and Raul (short dude missing some teeth) told me the lift blocks only go on one way and 4x4 isn’t their fault and it could’ve been broken way before we took it to them. As we pressed that it wasn’t broken before that and the lift blocks were reversed( I’d know because I initially installed them per the instructions) Raul threatened to refuse service and kick us out and for some reason kept telling us he is super old so he knows everything there is to know . When the owner came in Raul started talking to him in Spanish saying we were starting problems and trying to escalate a situation we stepped in and said that’s not the case at all. When Raul found out we speak Spanish his hostility subsided to silence, the owner said they would fix everything and they will let me know when it’s done. A week later after calling to find out the status they said the same exact thing so I decided to just take my truck back, after doing that I found out they didn’t fix a thing. It was still leaking in the same spot and the lift blocks were still backwards (they are tapered so there’s a right and wrong direction). I finally got to fixing their mistakes on my truck I thought I’d just let yall know if you want to waste 2k and 2 weeks of your life Cordova auto center #5 is the spot to be!!

This is in response to Chris Dennis post The only way one can find out if piston is cracked is if you take oil pan off and inspect the engine and or take valve cover off and stick a small camera into the engine and inspect piston. We did not take oil pan and or valve cover off. Because we did not take either of those things off we did not drain the oil. The motor without oil would not have made it down the block without cause major damage to the motor. And a motor with a cracked piston should not be able to run and or drive for very long Thank you for your feedback and hope we can resolve any other issues in the future 👍

Worked on my wife’s car, reassembled timing chain incorrectly after replacing water pump, charged me labor to do a job he failed to perform correctly the first time. My mother was referred to him, by O’reillys, who only found bad alternator code. I would have told her to RUN. He told her she had a cracked piston and sent her on her way. “Drive it until it breaks down, & I’ll tow you back in.” Failed to mention they’d drained the oil (& not replaced it) or there was none in the motor. Didn’t pull the dipstick? Or did & didn’t mention it, job security right? Crook.

Anyone with a mechanical issue with their vehicle, BEWARE!! Don't bring it here. Unprofessional is an understatement when it comes to this "business." I sank nearly $6K in a new motor and other issues based on the mechanic's ill advice in May. I got my car back roughly a month later, June 22. On July 21, I took my vehicle back to the shop and advised the mechanic that the car was leaking from the radiator and more importantly the new motor that I had already paid for wasn't accelerating and was leaking oil. It took him until Aug. 16 to finally figure out that the "new" motor he installed was defective on the timing. He didn't even figure it out, he had to get it towed to another mechanic. (See attached picture). He called me at roughly 5 p.m. on Aug. 21 and told me he had gotten the green light to replace the motor under warranty and tried to soften me up asking me that the boss (owner) wants to know if I can pay for the radiator repairs. I said no. I'm not paying for anything until I have my car. I've been extremely patient with their lack of knowledge when it comes to cars. The mounting debt I have accumulated because he has to troubleshoot and troubleshoot to even come anywhere near of having an inkling to be in the ballpark of what is ACTUALLY WRONG with the car and not having a vehicle for over a MONTH and then another MONTH. His response to me wanting to wait to pay for repairs until the car was finished and i was confident everything was in working order? "You want to play that game," he told me over the phone? I tried to get a word in as I was flabbergasted I wasn't dealing with a rationale adult who understands how business transactions work, but he finished with "I'm NOT FIXING your car and I'm keeping it for 120 days until we go to civil court" and proceeded to hang up on me. I have a total douche now not working on my car and even if he did work on it, I can't trust him to do the job correctly. On top of that, he sounded inebriated. Now I am left to explore options to fight for expenses I incurred by their unprofessionalism, lack of mechanical knowledge and absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and also getting whatever is left of my car. Cordova Center will RIP YOU OFF! Any STEREOTYPE you have about shady mechanics, this place far exceeds that notion and then some. Go to a reputable and trusted mechanic because it's priceless being treated like an adult and having a knowledgeable person working for you compared to dealing with these guys.

I work at here crodova 5 and this is a response to Art Benavidezs response. We installed the new motor with no oil or coolant leaks from the radiator. Then this customer comes back and says he wants a coolant leak fixed. We diagnosed the coolant leaks and also found that the motor had been off timed causing damage to the motor. The motor was under warranty and therfore got a brand new motor straight from the dealership. This mew motor costed the customer nothing because of the warranty and will not be charged labor fees. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! Cardova #5 is the best mechanic shop I have ever gone to in San Antonio!! All the employees are super nice! & I especially love how REAL they are on everything when they check your car! They help you with the best prices to fix your car! I’ve been going here for over 1 year now and every time I come they always help me with my car! They never forget their customers either every time I come they welcome me and treat me like family! & I’m a girl!! And I trust this mechanic shop, they have always helped me with my Nissan! Very recommended!!!

This place is horrible, went in to check my brakes, ended up going three times because they couldn’t figure out what it was which made my car worst and ended up having to pay $400 for nothing. Would not recommend this place, unbelievable !!!!

Took our car here and they did repairs for almost 600 dollars. Car was still having the same issues. Took it back and they told us the motor was no good. Why couldn't they see this first before spending money on a car that was neither good anymore? Very disappointed.

Went in to see about selling a tire. Didn't expect much for it or even if they would be interested and was told I needed to speak to or text the manager directly. The girl at the desk didn't seem to care beyond don't bother me bother him. Well I texted him with photos and he never bothered to text nor call back. I message him a total of 3 times on 3 different days and no response. So I know I won't be bringing my business there. This was an attempt to do business with them and apparently they are doing so well they don't have to care.

I'm giving it 5 stars 🌟 Because I came by after closing and luckily an employee was getting ready to leave yet I asked him to help me with a slow leak, turns out I had multiple nails in my tire and he fix it without any hesitation and believe me I was extremely grateful, sorry I didn't get his name but thank you!!

Nothing better than a tire shop for a quick morning fix, they dont mess around, they just get you what you need and back on the road, no up sale, no 'you need this or that', just straight up service at a low cost. Much better than waisting time at a Discount tire or midas when you need a tire now not three hours latter and for a much better price. While the shops might look messy or crowded at times don't let that discourage you from visiting, these guys know what there doing just as much as the big name auto shops that charge an arm and a leg for simple services. I highly recommend Cordova centers to all my family and friends in need of quick no nonsense repairs.

Worst mechanic ever. Dont take your cars to fix it over there. They make me buy three valve covers for my BMW cuz they didn't right at the first time. plus they brake my windshield they dont want to be responsible for what they did..
