I found Cool Air Auto Inc. after moving to Belton. Richard is a master of his craft and quickly earned my trust and respect. You can tell he has a wealth of knowledge and a lifetime of experience. There is a sense of relief that comes when you find a go-to mechanic!

This is a great shop! They just installed a clutch on my 2002 MINI Cooper S. They were really thorough and made sure a lot of extra stuff was done while everything was apart. The clutch feels great by the way! I’ll be bringing my mini back soon for some other issues that want fixed. Thanks! Scott

Richard got our 2017 Tiguan in in short notice to take a look at the timing belt. VW Lees Summit quoted us $4500 just for labor. Richard and his crew diagnosed and replaced the timing belt for less than half of that quote. It was finished in about 5 business days once they got the parts. They did an amazing job! I’d recommend anyone take their VW here.

Richard is friendly, kind to those that have questions, and very knowledge of German cars. He was able to fix my car in about 15 minutes. However, you want to make an appt coz he's a busy guy. Conveniently located along North Scott in Belton. His assistant is also kind.

I was in need of a routine timing belt replacement on my VW Jetta TDI, and I found myself a new go-to mechanic! Cool air auto was not a disappointment- in fact they blew me away. They’re thorough, precise, and very good at executing what they do. I come from another state where I have a mechanic who is a TDI expert- I was told my AC was done, dead, no hope as it needed a compressor- imagine my surprise when cool air auto was able to replace just one part on my AC that was a very low cost compared to getting a whole new AC compressor..came in for the timing belt, left with ice cold AC and comfort driving my car. The fact is if you have a VW and you’re not bringing it here for any service- you’re doing yourself a disservice. Good luck finding someone else who will be honest, helpful, and have that very very keen knowledge base on these cars. The prices were more than fair, and really this whole experience left me beyond happy and if you’re considering bringing your car here just trust me and get an appointment set. It won’t get better than this spot.

Extremely knowledgeable good honest shop. We've worked with Cool Air Auto for about 15 years supplying parts to them. I've always been impressed with how professional Richard is. He knows his stuff, from transmissions to timing belt kits to whatever you need done - he will take good care of you.

If you are looking for an auto repair shop that offers a waiting room with Wi-Fi, cable TV, free coffee and popcorn, and piped in music, this is not the place for you. If, on the other hand, You are looking for very competitive prices, friendly employees and your work done correctly, then I would recommend Cool Air auto repair. My first experience with them was a good one when I went for an oil change once my warranty ran out on my VW. They were right on time getting me in for my appointment, and I found them extremely polite, friendly, and perfectly willing to answer any questions. I hope I don't need many repairs right away, now that I'm no longer under warranty, but I do know I will give Cool Air a call first and will not go back to my Volkswagen dealer. I don't want to pay for the fancy stuff, just the repairs on my car.

Brought my car into Cool Air Auto for a second opinion. Richard got in my vehicle with me and helped diagnose the issues. Ultimately, we determined that it would be best to for me to try and do the repairs on my own. He provided some expert guidance and insight. He also did not charge me for his services. His competitors in Kansas City quoted me about ~10k for the same issues. Would highly recommend this shop for your TDI. Worth traveling for.

I got my timing belt service completed on my TDI here. Everything seems to be running fine and Richard’s pricing was great and he seems to be a nice honest guy. I let him know It might be a bit tricky for me to pick the car up before they close, and he offered to make other arrangements for me to pick it up or even drop it off at my house for me (I’m not far from to the shop) if I needed him to. Great service.

Richard is a genius when it comes to VW & diesel vehicles. Highly recommend this shop. Even if you are not close to Belton, it is worth the drive to have him work on your vehicle.

I have a '11 Jetta TDI and go to Cool Air Auto if I have any issues. They are a nationally known shop that is active on TDI forums, and they see a ton of these cars. Richard is very honest, thorough, and professional. I'd highly recommend them for any service

Richard is very up front and won't do any work he doesn't get approval for. I had multiple suggestions from friends AND where I used to take other vehicles. If you've got a VW I'd take it there, assuming you have the time.

Very professional, one of the best in the Industry, occasionally can take a while to get to your car but that's because so many people want him to work on their cars, and he will still keep you updated throughout if it does end up taking a bit longer than expected. 10/10

I met Richard many years ago at a VW TDI club function. He has helped me get over 400k miles on a 2003 VW Jetta TDI (new owner is still driving it) and another 230k miles on my current VW new beetle TDI. He also has worked on my other gas engine vehicles for problems such as AC issues and a faulty fuel level sending unit. I recommend him to all my friends.

I wrote Richard via email regarding advice on a TDI car that I was interested in purchasing. He was extremely quick in response and gave a very useful and insight advice regarding the prospective car. Saved me alot of money since a friend of mine recommended an pre purchase inspection at an Audi dealer that would've cost almost $200. If I were to own a VW or a TDI product, I would definitely take it to Richard for service. Extremely highly recommended
