Car wouldn't start. The mechanic showed up at the appointed time. Charged a $200 diagnosis fee up front. He diagnosed a bad starter. Would need to replace the battery and the terminals as well. Said that it would be $2500 plus the cost of the battery and terminals. He said the price was so high because the starter was located in an awkward position behind the engine. When I told him I would think about it, he said that he would do the whole thing for $2500. I told him again that I would think about it. After he left, he sent me a text saying that he would do the whole job for $1500. The price being so high, I decided to try and address the situation myself. I watched a video on replacing the starter. Turns out that it is NOT behind the engine where he said it was, but right underneath the battery and fairly easy to access. I replaced the battery. The car started right up. Went to AutoZone where they ran a diagnosis on the starter and the alternator for free. Both were fine. The battery had gone bad because one of the terminals was loose and poorly connected. So, 1) he didn't actually know where the starter was on my car and 2) he completely misdiagnosed the situation. And I paid $200 for it. Won't be using this company again and recommend that you don't either.

Got told it would be 40 minutes, I waited for an hour and a half. Then I got charged 200 for a diagnostic fee for them to tell me something I already knew. I was told they would need to replace the entire tranmission shifter cable and it would be $3,000 dollars. I fixed it myself with a $16 dollar part, since i only needed to fix the bushing link. I do not recommend this service. I basically gave away 200 dollars.

If I could select no stars I would. I was played out of $125. John initially told me that the diagnostic would be $150. Then today he tells me it's $200. I had made an appointment two weeks ago for 2pm. He gets out here at 5:07pm. He only knocks off $25 for the diagnostic. Then he tells me that between the labor and parts, he will charge me $2500 to replace my alternator, cords and new battery. Mind you, I informed him that Auto Zone has an alternator in stock for about $200 to $300 bucks. A battery for my car is only $100+. So now I'm looking at $400 for just the parts potentially. Labor should only be about $150 maybe $200 on my car which is an older model. THIS GUY TRIED TO OVERCHARGE ME $2500! I'm LIVID I even wasted $125 for him to tell me he would charge me $2500. I don't know if it's because I'm black or because I'm a woman. But I know it doesn't cost $2500 to do the labor to replace my alternator and battery along with cords. I will NEVER use his services, on top of that, he also projected his frustrations onto me instead of being professional via text because he had other things happening. Either get to know your customers and treat them right, or don't even bother to deal with someone like myself that you won't handle with kindness and professionalism. $2500 is RIDICULOUS to replace the alternator, install a new battery and cords. Man. I'll take my business elsewhere. Beware ladies and possibly black people. John will run over on you if he senses your naive and don't know what you're talking about.
