My daughters car was towed here after a transmission issue. The car arrived close to closing time and the driver left the car where he was instructed to. The next morning I recieved a phone call from the owner saying the car was totaled as the transmission went out. Now I have a tracker on the car and can see when the car is started, moved and shut off. The car was turned on at 930 am was on for 1 min tops and not moved. After a conversation about the transmission the owner proceeded to tell me that during the night there was a microburst storm (wind) and a big blue dumpster was thrown into the side of her car. I went there in the afternoon and totally got the run around. He even used the example that it would be like if he had went to a friends house and drank to much and got a ride home leaving his car there and a tree fell on it... would it be his friends fault? I felt like because I was female there by myself he could get away with not filing a claim. Long story short he refused to file a claim on his insurance, so I filed on mine, paid the $500 deductible and of course my insurance went after his and won. He lied to me about the events, was very rude and moved cars around to make it look legit. I would never EVER recommend this place the owner is set in his ways and is NOT out to help the customer at all.

I had a steering wheel issue with my 2012 Toyota Camry. The dealership quoted a $612 fix. The guys at Castleton Auto fixed the issue for $65. Yes, you read that right. That's pretty typical of Toby and his crew. These guys are honest, down-to-earth, and know their stuff. You can count on them to get the job done right. And their prices are the best out there. FULL DISCLOSURE: They don't have a complementary coffee machine. I know. Sad. But Toby insists that he's gonna remedy that soon; with k-cups and creamer choices! POSTSCRIPT!! There now is a coffee machine, and it's inside a large, wood-paneled, kid-friendly and nicely furnished lounge! Very impressive! Now if it only had a pool table!

By happenstance, I met Toby and started a discussion and found out about his legacy business, Castleton Auto Repair. During our discussion, I indicated I was desiring a complete brake job, rotors, pads calipers, and he said he would provide a quote, using NAPA Adaptive brake parts. Having previously investigated what I wanted, I had a budget in mind, and when I received his quote, it was $0.10 under my expectation. I dropped off my vehicle the next day with Jim and discussed what I expected and he said no problem. I have black wheels on a black vehicle and the NAPA calipers were black fitting into my theme. When I picked it up, same day, Jim showed me the pad clips, which were chrome, and he felt that was unacceptable and painted all the clips black, resulting in a great look. He may have thought I wouldn't notice but I had some faded tire stem caps and one missing, and he replaced them all with new caps, completing the look. Cost of the caps was probably 40 cents but the appreciation I felt was priceless. When he first notified me the brakes were done, he indicated that during the test drive he heard a distinct rattle that I was well familiar with but was ignoring for fear of a costly solution. Jim said the stabilizer bar and bushings were shot and for a couple of hundred could replace it. On the drive home on notorius 465, it was quiet and braking was smooth for the first time since I bought the vehicle. Thanx to Toby and Jim for their fine work and interaction.

excellant care, great advice, not just trying to sell you something, I really feel they are honest and provide a great service. I have several older cars and they seem to be competent on all manner of car issues. would strongly recommend them

Shop charged 100$ to tell me all 5 coils needed replaced for1200$. They just looked online. Went elseware and charged 400$ for the one bad coil and spark plugs.

I've always felt Castleton Auto is honest about what your car needs and their prices are fair. Auto repair is always a bit scary due to the fact the customer knows so little about their car. However, of the many places I've taken a car for repair, I am the least afraid of Castleton Auto. Their work is finished timely as well.

The worst place that you can take your car to. Not recommended at all ! I took my car for a minor repair the charged me $875 and claimed that they changed thermostat but the car broke down the next day I tow the car back to shop they said we can’t fix it you need to change the whole engine and take it to Ford itself, didn’t give any refund. no accountability at all they just need your money and they don’t give a F

They are reasonably priced and after a year of oil changes and various other maintenance items I have a great deal of trust for their work. Recently made an oxygen sensors replaced and Castleton Auto Repair did the work rapidly and at a reasonable price. I am happy to find a shop that I can rely on and it doesn’t hurt that it is with in walking distance.🤣
