North West St. Location Working with Kit and Ron was a pleasant experience. They provide you with all of the information you need about any necessary repairs and they openly answered all of the questions I had about how cars work. I needed a catalytic converter replacement that started off with a bad Oxygen sensor, but they were persistent in helping me pinpoint the right repair job and provided multiple diagnostics to do so. I'm very satisfied with their service and timeliness. The repairs were more affordable than Firestone and Ford. Carfix is a great place to have all of your car maintenance and repairs taken care of with quality service, experience and timeliness.

I am so glad I came across Carfix in downtown Raleigh. It’s hard to find a car repair shop you can trust, especially as a woman with little knowledge on cars (I’ve been burned by other shops in the past). But I am really pleased with my experience at Carfix for multiple reasons: 1) they are easy to work with and went above and beyond during the cold / rainy week I visited them - calling an uber for me to go home and come back once services were done. I’ve never had a repair shop offer this before, and it was very appreciated. 2) they prepared a detailed report of the inspection, including photos and descriptions of any issue. This allowed me to consult with my friends and family who know more than I do about vehicles to determine which services I needed right away - all without fear of being “ripped off” since they could back up their recommendations with proof. 3) I did not feel at any point as though they were trying to get me to spend money on unnecessary services. In fact, they explained to me that I had more flexibility than I thought I did on getting my back brakes replaced. This allowed me to make smart decisions for my safety while being cognizant of my budget. I definitely recommend this shop and am thankful to Ron and his team for the service this week.

Service with a smile! Nobody likes putting their car in the shop, but CarFix makes it better. They provide Uber rides to get you back home or to work until your baby is ready. They worked quickly and walked me through my options without unnecessary charges. I’m thinking about trading cars and they reminded me to bring any potential cars to them for a second opinion before I buy it.

CARFIX - top quality service. Routine maintenance and unexpected repairs … they are always an available, thorough, and professional. I keep going back for these reasons. Also, I get to support a local business. CARFIX - excellent service, as always! Got me in, provided an Uber ride to my nearby office, did a thorough assessment, and promptly got me rolling again. Even better - CARFIX let me know that they covered the repairs 100% because they warranty their work for 5 years!!! I had forgotten that they had replaced that part 3 or 4 years back. They stand behind their work!

Carfix was recommended by a friend who had a positive experience. I damaged a wheel by hitting a curb, and I was prepared for an expensive repair. Ron was super friendly and helpful. He explained I didn’t need much work — just an alignment. I ended up buying a set of tires as well, but the fact that they talked me out of buying unnecessary services says a lot. I’ll be back.

From the get go, they seemed genuine and were even willing to offer me a ride back home since it’s the only vehicle I have, but now I’m left a little disheartened. The customer service was good, they called before proceeding with any repairs, and seemed trustworthy. However, my recent experience here has me questioning the Carfix name. I recently took my vehicle to Carfix and had over $8,000 of repairs done. First and foremost, when I saw the invoice my stomach dropped but hell it’s the only car I have so I proceeded. I probably should’ve done a second opinion somewhere. They have my car for 4 days and he calls me and says your car is ready for pick up everything is good to go! I arrive at Carfix, turn my vehicle on and the odometer is flashing. Of course it’s Friday evening and they don’t open until Monday. I call them today and tell them what’s going on… Steven asks if I can bring it in real quick to take a look as he thinks it might be a setting on the dashboard that needs to be fixed. I arrive at Carfix, and the guy at the desk consults with the master technician and says he doesn’t have time to check it out but he thinks it’s most likely a internal communication issue and that it’ll result in another repair needing to be done. It’s frustrating because why even release my vehicle, take my $8k and say I’m ready to go. So, I tell the guy that I’m sketched out because it wasn’t having this issue prior to all this work being done and he tells me it’s just bad timing and google says it isn’t going to affect drivability. He then ensures me that they’ll take a look when they have availability and can then give me an estimate… my mind is blown. Now, I’m expected to take my vehicle back to this place feeling uncomfortable but they’ve taken all my money so I have no choice…. I hope they’re able to honor their word and stand behind the service they offer.

I went there last month to get my BMW repaired. The engine light was on and I wanted to get it checked out. After many hours they finally tell me there are many issues but they said they know what is causing the engine light problem. I told them I only wanted it fixed so I could pass inspection, I wanted the bare minimum done because I was going to sell the car anyway. They told me they understood and told me, and I quote “this repair will 100% fix the engine light”. They said this to me so I trusted them and paid $900+for the repair. They told me I needed to drive the car at least 50-100 miles before they can do the inspection. I pick up the car and the engine light is off. I drive for less than 10 miles and the engine light comes back on. I take it back in and they proceed to tell me there are many many other issues with the car and in order to get it to pass inspection I would need to pay at least $3600 more. I am furious and feel completed taken advantage of. I would have never paid for the first repair had I known this. I tried to contact the manager have been unsuccessful.

I’ve been bringing my car here for over a year now and car troubles are a very anxiety-inducing issue. But they were willing to handle my needs (like texts over phone calls, willing to explain why work needs to be done, complimentary shuttle services) and I think most helpfully give you a link to their inspections, so you can not only see the trouble yourself but are provided a detailed explanation *in text* for why this work is important and should be completed, which is incredibly helpful. They always get my baby back to me same-day, and while I hope in future they’ll only see me once a year, I know I have a reliable and helpful mechanic in Raleigh.

Your Carfix car/people were outside my apartment window at Bexley Brier Creek for an hour this morning (New Years Day) at 4+am talking loudly with beverages and the trunk open, smoking cigarettes in a smoke-free area. Pretty sure they don't even live here. I finally opened my window and told them to leave. I will report this to management.

I've been taking my cars to Carfix on Hillsborough street for about seven years, but no more! My 2008 Subaru Outback recently developed a rattle that was most noticeable when accelerating and at certain speeds. Carfix told me the rattle was caused by a faulty catalytic converter, which would cost more than $1,000 to replace. I thought this was odd since the car passed inspection in the same visit, so I sought a second opinion and discovered the rattle was caused by a loose heat shield and a hole in the exhaust pipe, for a total cost of $200. I no longer trust the mechanics at Carfix to give me an accurate assessment.

My wife was traveling from out of town and had car trouble. We called the closest auto repair shop which ended up being this one and had a great experience. Kit was extremely courteous and offered to do a FREE diagnostic on our vehicle immediately! Full disclosure: we decided to do the repair at our local mechanic due to logistics, but I would have no issues having my car repaired here due to the excellent service we received.

Travis and his entire team are a great group of people. Very personable. Each time, I've gone to them for service, they've been upfront about all services needed, the turnaround time, and the pricing. No hidden charges at checkout. They even offer great coupons online. I feel very comfortable leaving my vehicle with them. I've witnessed their interactions with other customers, and like my own vehicle, they took great care and work as if they're working in their own personal vehicle.
