Calvert Automotive is the best auto repair shop in Denton. Considering I am a daughter of a former auto repairman of 50 years, I am very particular on where I take my vehicles for repairs. The folks at Calvert Automotive are honest and reasonably priced.

Honest Mechanic. I've received significantly lower quotes for repairs here than for other mechanics in the area. Been coming here for some time now, after a different mechanic grossly overquoted for repairs. I saved I think around $750 by coming here one time. Quotes me before charging for repairs, and will let me know whether or not a part is needed. They don't overcharge in my experience. First place I look when I need a repair.

Upstanding auto repair shop. Daniel is more than willing to work in your best interests. I'm one of those who likes to bring my own parts. 90% of my parts are dead on. One occasion, I messed up with the wrong part. Daniel didn't just put my vehicle back together and ask for payment. Now that takes an understanding and patience. Later the next day, I delivered the correct part. Honestly 99% of the time, he has the parts you need. Give him respect, and he will treat you with the same respect. An honest shop is hard to find. Keep up the great work Daniel!

I changed the spark plugs and coils in my Hyundai vehicle 1 month ago. You can trust his expertise. I don't have much information about prices but I think they are reasonable. He is a bit busy, I think he needs more workers.

The pricing is decently fair. I took half of my drive shaft into the shop to have a carrier bearing and U-joint replaced. They managed to do it in a timely manner with the tools they have. Managing to damage the bearing face(Shown in the pictures) as well as it not being fully mounted. The mechanic(The owner I believe) was very unprofessional and rude. He first refused that anything was wrong and that the work was done correctly. Damage to a customer's part and sending it out is horrible. The mechanic tried having a full blown argument inside the lobby of the shop because I was receiving a refund instead of accepting the lack of quality of work. To the shops credit, the U-joints were properly installed, but the clips were scratched up as well. The young lady in the lobby was very collected and professional the entire time, holding herself to a higher standard. The male I interacted with was extremely rude and unapologetic. He refused to acknowledge the damage done to the carrier bearing and the lack of depth, which is about 0.5" deeper than this. The mechanic that worked on this drive shaft should've prepped the drive shaft but didn't. If you take a look at the picture that's brighter you'll see debris surrounding the edge of the bearing. Overall the shop remained professional until the work was questioned. EDIT:I'm not entirely sure where you pulled the number 4 from, this is my second bearing(meaning this would technically be the third bearing pressed on including the one from factory) The one you pulled off was the exact same one. Let's not lie. You managed to damage the bearing and my glide coat. You couldn't fully seat my bearing. The only reason I'm even putting three stars is because of the lady up front who was fairly respectful. This work was shown to two separate mechanics as well as a master tech. Every single one of them said it was wrong as well. Furthermore, if a drive shaft is bad, it's your job to inform a customer. Which you didn't do, you simply said "The bearing is against its back stop". If the spot the carrier bearing mounts to was bad, it would slip on and off. If there was debris(like you can clearly see in the picture) the tolerance for pressing is going to be too tight. It should've been sanded and cleaned as prep.

Looking for an honest mechanic? You just found one. I have been around the block a few times and have some gray hair so I have been to plenty of shops - good and bad. This is the kind of honest, old school, no nonsense, fix it the right way, well priced shop you want. Each time I return I am more and more impressed with not only the way they treat their current clients but how they treat new clients that just walk in the door. They define professionalism and combine it with care. 6 stars. Would turn it up to 11 if I could.

Calvert’s was fantastic and quick, I’ll definitely be going back! Several other auto shops in Denton are not able to perform vehicle inspections at this time due to poor business practices and Calvert’s was recommended as an alternative. I’m glad for this happy accident because now I feel that I’m taking my car to the best place in town. I’ll definitely bring my car back to Calvert’s. Thank you!

Overall, 5/5 stars. I would definitely come again. I brought my car here after a different automotive place quoted me about $2,400 for repairs, which seemed absurd because it only needed a relatively small fix. I asked Calvert to replace some parts; however, they called me to say that the parts did not need to be replaced and that the car was in good condition. They saved me $2,000 from another place that probably would have done a poor job anyway.

I can't say enough good things about Calvert Automotive and my recent first experience. I'm the type with generally little trust for mechanics and ask a fair amount of questions. I received a competitive estimate, accurate lead time for repair, and they didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. I definitely recommend local small business Calvert Automotive.

I have been using Calvert Automotive for over 20 years for all of my vehicles. Daniel and Amy are beyond professional and courteous. They accommodate all of their customer needs to the best of their ability. They are honest and trustworthy in every respect. One example: on a long trip across the country my car developed a radiator leak. After stopping at two dealers seeking repair, neither could find the leak. When I returned home, I went to Calvert and they were able to find and repair the leak.

Took ‘06 Honda Accord in for starter repair. We were told only rebuilt starters were available. Drove 2x’s after repairs and it would not start. Had vehicle towed to different shop and we were told starter was bad. Called Calvert’s and they suggested we have it towed to their location from the other shop for diagnostics/repair. We “suggested” they have it towed at their expense, which to their credit they did. They did replace the starter again. When we got home we saw on the AutoZone website that they offered 3 different “new” starters with “lifetime” warranties. The top of the line was $360 with a lifetime warranty (which are not available per Calvert Automotive), which is what we were charged for nonfunctional rebuilt starter from Calvert Automotive. Too bad there are no options for negative star ratings. FYI, owner of vehicle is my 85 year old mom. Guess they have different prices for men and women, sadly …
