I dropped my car off on at 4:30pm. They close at 5pm. I was in no hurry to get it back. On my way to work at 8:45am they were already looking at it. They said it was done at 1pm! I’d say thats fast service! Super nice guys too. I think the price was fair but, I’m just a girl lol. I know labor is usually $100-$150 everywhere else, so basing it off that. I will come back if needed in the future.

Brought in my Acura to have my power steering pump changed. Brought in my own part, which ended up being a huge problem. After my pump was changed by them, I go to pick it up and the noise is even worse than before. They did not inform me about the state of my old pump at all, the fluid levels, the fluid color, or any information about the work that they did. I took the car home hoping that it would stop making noise or at least improve, and it never did. I went back to them the next day and they told me that I came in too late and I need to come back again two days later. They don't even want to look at the parts or inspect the car at all. I asked him what's wrong with it or what needs to be done and if he wants to take a look at it and he just told me that because I got my own pump I must have gotten a bad one. He said that remanufactured pumps just break or don't work at all. I've worked in an auto repair shop before, and I know that remanufactured parts are totally the norm. I ended up taking it to a different shop on the same day and after a few minutes of looking at my car, they found that the pump is just fine and that the hose has a crack in it and the reservoir needed to be changed. Instead of paying $300 for an entirely new pump and paying labor again. This other shop figured out the problem and charge me a fraction of the cost, absolutely no more noise or issues. The owner or employee will just smile at you and lie to your face and say that things need to be changed.

I've been going to C&L for about 6 or 7 years and they always treat me awesome they fixed my exhaust today and did an awesome job the guy at the desk really seemed like he wanted me to come back rare feeling for me thank yall so much and see u soon

I've been for a few oil changes and won't go anymore for even that. Asked for an oil change and to see what check engine light was reqding. Got called to pick it up, and they replaced some sensors and did not do the oil change. I just paid them because I didn't want the drama but will never go there again. The workers have been really nice

I’ve brought my car in here a few times since moving to this neighborhood. They are always fast, communicative, transparent, and fair. I’ve gone to several mechanics in San Diego and I trust these guys the most.

I just got a full synthetic oil change $87. I think the price is better than most and it was fast. They seem busy so I’m guessing they do good work for reasonable prices.

These guys are great. I needed to have headlight and taillight bulbs replaced to pass a vehicle inspection, only to find out I had 11 safety lightbulbs out! They replaced them all quickly ( including having to run to get a part!) They are truly an asset to Golden Hill and a trustworthy bunch.

Took my vehicle in for a gas line leak after explaining where I believe it to be and in between the language barrier or just didnt listen barrier. My car was held for 2 days just to be told at 5pm on the second day, no leak was found. I volunteered to come in on the 3rd day to take the mechanic to the gas station to witness the gas line leak. I get there 8:30am on the 3rd day and was rudely told the line leak was found after 5pm on the 2nd day. I did not recieve a call because the person who was working on the car (shop owner) after hours didnt know the name of the person the car belong to. I lost approx $150 to $200 waiting on a diagnosis that came after 2 days charged $110 and was told Im lucky I wasnt charged for them holding my car for 2 nights. What he was able to ascertain real quickly was that I had no oil in my vehicle and that my engine would seize up. Enough said they failed in my book and they lost the $5k that was waiting to be spent on the car had they did what was to be done when you take your car to a mechanic.

I was in the car business, have sent a lot of cars to Carlos(the owner) even before that they’re not far from home and have worked on all my cars over the years. You wont find a more honest shop or a better crew of mechanics. He does not over sell (add things your car doesn’t really need).

New to San Diego and needed to find a spot for oil changes. I went to C&L, but they left my drain plug loose and had to deal with a oil leak and mess under my car. Now I have to pay the dealer to do another oil change a few weeks later, and a clean up fee. Hopefully this is not the normal experience there, but would not recommend.
