The transmission was acting up on my low mileage Sonic, so I brought it in to see Reece. It turned out to be basically nothing, but he recommended and performed the routine maintenance that was due. I felt heard and respected.

Needed my transmission output seal serviced. Dealer wanted 4 times the amount what Broadway transmission charged, plus they specialize. I also found that they do general auto repair. The service I found came with strong integrity. This is a breath of fresh air in what you find out there, and the customer service is GREAT. Thank you Paul for your services.

Outstanding customer service; Paul is the best. Assertive diagnosis and attention to priorities. I highly recommend this place. Areas of improvement: They need more staff and a bigger place; I had to wait two weeks for an appointment.

Paul at Broadway automotive and transmission has been helping me to safely. Keep my older model car on the road until I’m ready to buy a new one. He worked out a personal maintenance plan that made sure the car was roadworthy but not cost me a lot of money. Great guy, great to work with and reasonable prices— great service!

Paul & Reese, co-owners of Broadway Transmission in Oakland for 26 years, deserve more than 5-Stars! Their service & expertise are unparalleled & exceptional in every way! We recently had them rebuild the transmission in our ‘97 VW Eurovan, and every step of the way, they were there to inform us & include us in the process. Our only complaint is that they’re an hour away from where we live, but honestly, they are worth the drive! Wish they could be our VW mechanics but don’t think we’ll be needing them for another 100K, but we might just stop by to say hi once in awhile! Such a great team they are! Thank you Paul & Reese! 🚐

I am so thankful for the work Broadway Auto did on my Subaru. I'd been having issues with the check engine light and AT oil temp lights, and when I had a mechanic in the area look at it, I was informed I would need to replace the entire transmission. I called a few transmission shops, and Paul was the only one who offered to take a second look at it because a full replacement might not be needed. He was right and this saved me a lot of money! I only needed the valve body replaced. Throughout the whole process Paul was super informative and patient especially with my scheduling needs. My car is back up and running with no issues! 🙏

Paul was fantastic. Made an appointment and dropped off the car in the AM. He called me a few hours later with diagnostic information, repair process and we were ready to go by the afternoon. Great service, 10/10
