After my mechanic recommended Brake Max, I looked up our local (and nearby) location and made an appointment. Went there today (1-23-25) and Fernando took care of me for a front end alignment. After my mechanic had replaced my tie rods and sway bars (which were very, very old), they did a wonderful job with my alignment and the car was smooth riding, no strange "noises", and no "play" or wobbly-ness in the steering. What a difference - like night and day; should have done this long ago. Very pleased with my first-time experience.

Would give zero stars if possible... I originally took my car to this shop on 12/21/2024 for squeaky brakes. After the inspection I was given a litany of "problems" and quoted over $5,000.00 in repairs, which did seem excessive and unnecessary but since I plan on keeping this vehicle for a while, I decided to trust them and go with the repairs they said were needed. My vehicle stayed the entire day and I was given my keys back an hour and a half after the store closed. The mechanic and manager (Fernando) stated that there was a piece that was not fitting right but that the mechanic did his best and the problems were fixed. The next day I could still hear my brakes clicking and squeaking as well as a burning smell from my engine. I called Fernando back on 1/11/2025 and he stated I could bring the car back. I dropped off the vehicle on 1/12/2025 at 9am. I got a call at 330pm saying that the vehicle needed to stay till monday if I wanted the repair because and I quote: "The vehicle is not safe to drive"!?! I let him know that that is unacceptable as my car has been there all day and I already paid them OVER $5K!??! The manager called around 6pm (AGAIN AFTER CLOSE OF BUSINESS) and said my car was ready. I picked up the vehicle when I got home I could still smell the burning smell coming from my engine, my brakes (the initial and only problem) still squeak when reversing, AND NOW MY VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD AND TO THE RIGHT AT ODD INTERVALS WHEN DRIVING. Considering the amount of money I paid there is ZERO reason for me to be having to write this complaint. Now the business has carelessly and negligently put myself and my families life at risk while driving. This is unacceptable!!

Should be Zero stars for this shop. On December 14th, 2024, I had taken my car into brakemax for a flat tire, wheel alignment, and an issue that caused power steering now to light up on my car. Immediately after taking my car in, I was charged for way too much money. And even then there was always more problems every time they tried to fix something, which means of course I had to pay more money for problems I never even experienced. Everytime I called or they called I kept getting the run arounds and being told that my car would be fixed or ready almost everyday just for it not to be. Long story short, they tried to charge me over 5 thousand dollars and I still don't have my car or everything repaired.

They got my truck done quickly but suggested other things that I did not need. Including a new engine! The job ended up costing more than I expected because of unforseen problems? Ok for minor work but I don't trust them any more

I’ve been using Brakemax for about 5 years now and they’ve always done quality work in a reasonable amount of time. I’ve always been told up front what the cost would be before they started doing the work. They have also backed up their work and warranty on parts.

The first review that I wrote was meant for the location on tanque Verde this location is horrible I've gone there several times because they're down the street from me and they have been rude and abrasive. They didn't give me answers and in fact they told me "well the noise isn't happening now so what do you want me to do." I told them it was the same thing they fixed last time I didn't know what it was called and instead of looking it up that was the response. So I left the one on tanque Verde was so helpful they figured it out they didn't overcharge me they fixed a problem that I didn't even know I had which was wonderful. The one on tanque Verde is so far it cost me an extra 50 bucks to get it towed there because my insurance wouldn't tow it all the way out there but it was well worth it. Unless they did all new staff I would not recommend going there. Then the one on tanque Verde told me I got overcharged by your store .... They fixed a similar problem for $100 less. So when I was having problems recently of course I took it back there they were so great didn't overcharge me explain to me what was going on and even wrote it out because of my medical condition I have memory problems. Go to the one on tanque Verde way better brake Max especially if you're a lady they don't talk down to you they just explain it.

I have always had a great appreciation of this shop. However I had my car inspected for the brakes and they tried to charge nearly 3000 dollars for front brake replacement. We purchased brakes ourselves for maybe 90 dollars and upon trying to remove front passenger tire realized they had cross threaded one of the hub bolts. Upon calling the "new" manager stated he would tow our vehicle over for free....however we would be responsible for parts and labor as we tried to work on it ourselves. clearly we did not remove tire and replace it cross threaded without replacing brakes just to try to make company look bad. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this company location, I miss the days of andre and the honesty that he used to uphold. Thank you Miguel for your unyielding misunderstanding. I never said "another shop" I said "OUR SHOP" which is literally just me and my mom trying to save this little vehicle from your price gouging and negligent replacement of a tire after a simple inspection. Who tries to force a luggage nut on when they can clearly tell its cross threaded? Amateur mechanics that want to force the small guys like us to pay too much for a simple service

Jorge and Miguel are awesome. They explained everything in a way I could understand. I thought they mostly specialize in brakes but they are a one stop shop. I'm very pleased with the services I received and how fast they got all the work done without a appointment.

My car was in the garage for a free brake inspection with very little wait time, which was a pleasant surprise. Miguel and Jorge were helpful, knowledgeable and professional, while also being friendly. The cost of the brake job was in the anticipated price range, but what sets them apart is that they are extremely thorough, doing the inspection and work where they can be seen. Miguel explained every detail of their assessment, happily answering questions and addressing concerns. I'll be a repeat customer and can them recommend to others. Thanks guys!

They forgot my car. Had 8:30 appt. I asked how it was going at 9:30 and they said they forgot it. Good job once they took it in at 9:45.

They tried to charge me 1800 dollars for a radiator, for a Toyota Cambri. And they charged me 180 dollars to check it out, and they didn't put it in the workshop, they looked at it outside, and in less than a minute they told me it was the radiator. But I took it somewhere else and it turned out it was a hose. And i just pay 120 dollars with part and labor

I always have a great experience at this BrakeMax location. I have bought tires and now needed some other work done. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to work on my car. Fast and reliable. But most important, attentive and nice. Everyone I interacted with. Professional and hard working. Not very many places out there like this.

I’ve been utilizing this location for the past 5 years. Always it is a positive experience. They changed employees but customer service always is the same. My technician this time was Miguel and he was very friendly and accommodated to all my requests. Very positive attitude and inviting us to return always. Thank you !

Super nice guys but went in one day for a quote for $260 for a brake change just for the rear and went in the next day for the appointment and told me it was $410 just for the rear. Like I said super nice people but that $150 price difference from the next day is just weird
