Eric & his crew are by far the most honest mechanics/auto shop I have ever worked with. In the last 2 years, my wife’s old car (now our auxiliary car) experienced a starter failure, & I needed a CV axle replaced in my truck. Both were quickly diagnosed/addressed quickly and for a very good price with his 12 month/12,000 mile warranty! He makes what is a usually an unpleasant time when a vehicle breaks down as painless as possible and was very honest with us in advising us the pros and cons of each option we had. Very pleasant experiences with a great staff & great guy to work with, as long as we are living in the area we will always go to him with our automotive needs.

I recently had to have my car towed to Bozeman Community Auto after it experienced catastrophic engine failure. Eric was very friendly, fair, and knowledgeable as he guided me through my various options. He helped make an unfortunate situation as painless as possible. Will certainly go back for any future car needs.

Bozeman Community Auto did a great job on both my Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and Cadillac Eldorado. For both vehicles they diagnosed the problem and called me before making any repairs. They even found a problem created by the dealership during a factory recall and fixed it right away. Their customer service was great, and their rates are very competitive.

Accommodating, efficient, kind, and honest! I had received a quote from another local auto body shop to fix my side-view mirror, which kept falling out of position. After a cursory look they said the entire apparatus needed to be replaced, and would be nearly $3000. Even after I inquired, they said it couldn't be repaired without a total replacement. Upon the recommendation of a friend, I called Bozeman Community Auto and they said just to swing in same day, so I did. Eric came out to look at it and fixed it there on the spot for a small fraction of what it was slated to cost at the other shop! I would most definitely recommend this business in favor of the larger more corporate auto body shop(s) in town and BZN Community Auto will certainly be my first call for any future car problems.

Had brake problems coming off the pass headed east and called these guys 30 miles from Bozeman. They fit me in right away and had 2 new rotors and front brakes on within an hour and I still got the kids to the zoo in billings that evening. Incredible place, kind people and at a good price too.

I dropped off a truck in mid-October that had terrible timing problems (the noise it was making was pretty disturbing). They were booked until mid November, but Eric assured me they'd start their diagnosis before that (The Ford dealership in town guaranteed they wouldn't get it through the door before mid January, so don't bother even checking if you own a Ford). Fast forward to a complete miserable time finding a timing chain (thanks again for nothing Ford) and getting it replaced only to discover major engine damage (rod knock!) and he once again came through with an engine replacement (salvage engine). He gave me a great break on labor because he felt like he should have known before replaceming timing belt, but there's no way he could have heard the rod knock the way the truck sounded when I left it (I couldn't!). Now I have a truck that sounds and runs great. He even removed the new timing chain and components off of the bad engine and installed them on the replacement engine. It took a while to get from point A to point B and cost more than I hoped or expected, but none of it was the fault of Community Auto. It was a lot of bad luck, some poor Ford design, an auto workers strike (affected parts supply), and a tough time of year with the holidays, but my truck is good for another 100K miles and I'm happy I found this shop. I'll be switching all my vehicles over here for service, diagnostic, and repair work. If I never walk through the door of a Bozeman brand dealer again, it will be TOO SOON. Thanks, Eric.

I got my rotors replaced here in July and recently my car broke down on the road due to a bolt they didn’t correctly put on. My car was making a horrible grinding noise with my two year old in the car. I had it towed to the dealership I got my car from. I had them look at it because I needed my car working immediately. I’m a single mom who that works all week and can’t afford for my car to not be functioning. When I brought it to Toyota they told me a bolt wasn’t on correctly from accessing my brakes/rotors. They fixed it for me so I could get to work the next day. I made a second appointment for them to check and see if my rotors and brakes were in good shape since the people that replaced them weren’t competent enough to put a bolt on correctly. My rotors ended up being warped after not even a year of use. Im a good driver with no tickets on my record and always keep up with maintenance on my car. When I called community auto they refused to help me or guarantee their product and services. Would not recommend this place.

I walked in without an appointment but very worried that my car was going to fail while trying to visit clients! Eric took a look for me and figured out the problem and handled it completely in less than 15 minutes. I know nothing much about cars. Glad to know that he knows EVERYTHING about them. He sent me on my way so quickly it felt like a miracle but more than that he made my life less stressed! We've used this place 3 times now and have always felt like we were cared for as if we are the only customers! Thanks so very much!! Best service EVER!!!

These people are great. Have taken in a jeep and a suburu outback, and they fixed my problems at a reasonable cost. The only problem is that it may take some time to get onto their schedule. I highly recommend them!

We have a Jeep Wrangler that has had a battery drain since we bought it and I couldn't figure out what was causing the drain. Checked all the fuses and watched youtube videos to try and fix the issue, but still would drain overnight or within a few days. I called Bozeman Community Auto after reading so many positive reviews and they got me on the schedule. I dropped the Jeep off at 9am for the appointment and had a call by 2pm saying they had fixed the issue and that it was ready to pick up. It turned out, the previous owner installed aftermarket headlights and did not properly ground the headlights when installing them. The Jeep starts great now and we have no draining issues anymore. They were friendly, efficient, knowledgable, and affordable. I'd recommend them to others in Bozeman if you need work done on a vehicle. Thanks Bozeman Community Auto! ----------------------- As an update, it sits in a heated garage and it lasted about 7 days or so after having it worked on, and then it lost it's charge again - It sits at our mountain house in the garage so we don't use it often, but when we do we've had to charge it unfortunately - while our suburban and pickup have no issues. It's looking like there is something additional causing a drain so we are going to bring it in late march. It's no rush as this is basically a vehicle used when we have guests and for summertime, but we are looking forward to not needing to charge it. Thanks!

The best mechanic experience I've ever had...and I've had a lot lately. This is really saying a lot considering they made a mistake during my head gasket/radiator replacement. They owned the mistake and made an very generous offer to "make it right". Of course mistakes happen and we settled on a much lesser offer. Bottom line is these are the most honest folks I've had the pleasure to do business with in a very long time. I wish they lived local in Spokane because they would definitely be "my mechanic". Don't look further than Community Auto for your car maintenance needs. You won't find better!
