I'm editing my review to be fair. I recommend seeking a second opinion at this business since each time I've gone to this place, it's always $1,200 or more for brakes or other issues. After the expensive estimate, I went to another business, and my brakes cost $240. That was not the first time.

Only place I get my fuel. Friendly staff, quality fuel, quality prices. Not to mention, top of the line tools/equipment in the service center. Knowledgeable, efficient, skilled technicians.

Came for state inspection and needed a new tire. They were able to order and put on same day. I have always found them to be quick, honest and very helpful. They go out of their way to make sure customer is taken care of. I always make appts for service and they are very prompt.

8 am appt., and Noone was here. Got a SUV oil change with a 25% off coupon. My total was almost $67! Called around and currently this is a Great Deal for full synthetic! This place has been here for half a century, and still going strong!

A state inspection was the only reason for my stop at Bon Air Shell however the quality of the visit led me to want to leave a review. Bobby, Keith, and Chris were very friendly and helpful. The inspection was completed very quickly but I managed to spend about half an hour with these guys just chatting, I definitely recommend!

I was there for an inspection, and was failed for brake pads and told I needed a new battery. I went elsewhere and was told this wasn't true :(

I had an appointment to get my automobile inspected at 1:30 I was there at 1:30 within five minutes they had my automobile being serviced they were prompt they were polite it was a great experience not having to wait for hours just to get something simple done I will give their from now on any car repairs I need

Very nice gentleman, but when I took my car in for an inspection it took more than a day to get to it. They also rejected it, said I needed to "clean" my headlights? They wanted to do it, but I did it myself and it passed. Very frustrating since my lights worked and my car was clean, but they wanted the headlights polished?? I have owned several cars and never knew it would fail inspection from something like that.

Will not take my car there again! Called and made an appointment for the following day for inspection. Told them that I would leave my car there while I was work, 8:30 to 5:00. I called around 4:00 to make sure the car was ready. Was told that they did not get to it and that it probably would not be ready that day. I told them that I would pick it up anyway and that I was not happy that they did not have the inspection done when they had my car for almost 8 hours with an appointment. I got a call around 5:00 to let me know that my car inspection was rejected because that my headlight THAT STILL WORKS had potential to not be as bright because of moisture in the headlight. Sounds to me that they stuck it to me because I complained.

Major rip off. Do NOT use Bon Air Shell. They charge for unnecessary services. Buyer beware. We were charged $100 for flushing lines on my daughter’s car that several other service places told us was not necessary. They also take your inspection sticker off immediately before even looking at car. Had over $1500 of work done on my car in December 2018. Car was inspected until May of 2019. AFTER car was towed in and repaired, and i paid $1500,, we asked to have a new inspection sticker put on. AFTER fixing car they found an ADDITIONAL $1500 worth of work needed to replace inspection sticker WHICH WAS ALREADY GOOD UNTIL MAY 2019. Now i cannot drive my 1994 Honda because it isn’t even worth $1500 and I cannot afford it. I was SHOCKED that they did this to me. Common courtesy should have applied here. I would have been able to drive my car 6 more months. Now I am without a car thanks to the greedy owners of Bon Air Shell. And this occurred 5 days before Christmas. Criminals. Heartless. Fortunately I have found honest, trustworthy mechanics at Forest Hill Garage. They reviewed the receipt from Bon Air Shell and confirmed we were ripped off on my daughter’s car with the flushing of the lines on a newly purchased 2016 car from Carmax. CONSUMER BEWARE

Strong Customer Service, Honest on repairs and on Inspections. We have had cars looked at prior to buying and selling. Had a warranty issue with a part, and they gave us a break on the labor. Good Experiences all around

Wonderful older gentleman running the shop, and a very kind and quick-witted/fast younger boy running the inspections. It took 15 minutes, was smooth as hell, and I received some excellent war stories while I waited. Take the time to talk to the manager or at least let him tell you about his time in Richmond and what he has seen. It was a wonderful experience, speedy service, and came with great stories. They've earned my customer loyalty, for sure.
