Great service with this guys. They took care of all my repairs and were able to negotiate any additional payments with my warranty company. Loved the communication they had throughout the time it was being repaired and always kept me updated of any additional updates that occurred.

This review I posted a few years back still stands. I continue to recommend this business because they are one of the best. Just try them once and you'll know you have found a great, reliable place for ALL your vehicle needs in one place. Honest, good fair pricing - no recommendations for unnecessary extra work on your vehicle. You'll be welcomed and treated with courtesy and patience, the old fashioned way, as a valued customer. I haven't seen a more professional environment when it comes to a shop floor: spacious, open, clean, beautifully organized and equipped shop (no chance of your vehicle being scraped up against other vehicles or equipment in a crowded space). Your vehicle and you will be well looked after. They have actually added a membership on their app where you are given an extra 10% off, member only coupons, like two free state inspections and other rewards. Now in Krum as well as Denton!

After 149k miles with no major maintenance needed, the hybrid battery in my Prius finally gave out. I knew it would be expensive to replace but I was shocked at the quote from the dealership. Barebones Auto gave me a quote (without knowing the dealership's price) at almost half the cost. They were incredibly friendly, helped me out so quickly, and now I'm hoping for another 150k out of my Prius which I think is doable with Barebones Auto on my side! They also have a membership program which saved me hundreds more. I'll be a customer for life and will recommend all of my friends and family in the Denton area.

Went here for the first time today for a vehicle inspection. As a woman I felt very comfortable and safe while I was there. Not only from a safety standpoint but on a respect level. No one was rude or disrespectful while I was there. I really appreciate that in a mechanic shop, I think most women can agree it's hard to find a place like this. I saw a lot of other women in the waiting area with me so that was also reassuring. Their waiting area was nice and clean. I did wait about 1.5 hrs BUT I was a walk in so I don't hold that against them at all. I was not charged anything, maybe because I was my first time there. Highly recommend this place for anyone, but especially women!

Stop going to this shop, whoever retired they took all the brains and ability with them. Customer Service is top notch but the mechanics cannot back it up. My $2700 that I spent there turned into a $6,000 fix-thier-f-up. Parting with such sweet sorrow.

I am UPDATING THIS ON 06/03/2024. Everything is equal or even improved since my original. I had to wait for another/more mechanic issues since Barebones had “her” running great for a long time. You will have the benefit of the BEST Auto Shop in all of N. Texas if you take your car, truck, diesel powered engines to BAREBONES. Below is the original review from years ago: This is the absolute best auto mechanic ever! I was referred to the owner, John, back when he was working out of a "rent-a-bay" in 2009. I had fallen on hard times financially and he did high quality work at extraordinarily affordable rates. His quality work spread by word of moth so quickly that within a few years he owns his own facility with 16+ bays, lifts, front-end alignment, diesel repair, tires and window tint services. All of his mechanics care about doing the job right and his Service Adviser, Stephen, id both gregarious and extremely knowledgeable. John and his staff have saved me literally thousands of dollars keeping my two older vehicles in reliable, quality running condition! You cannot find a mechanic of higher integrity. They will never sell you anything you don't need but will never fix something and leave it unfixed either. They give warranty on all their work/parts. Love these folks!

These people are awesome. Very thorough and very fast! Also, not once did I ever feel dumb or condescended to. They even have 24 hour pickup in case you can't get your car during business hours, and the waiting area is clean and spacious. Will absolutely be coming back. Don't waste your time and money on the chain auto shops. Barebones is where it's at!
