I called for an oil change and to know what break pads needed replacing (I knew already they were bad). Went to B&B because they were the only place in Bozeman not fully booked out. The service and communication was so horrible. They never once called me back when they said they would (I had to call them 4 times every hour). I found out after checking in that they didn’t even have me in for an oil change and to just check the break pads (they had me in for diagnosing “break concerns”). People on the phone were all rude towards me. I didn’t get a quote until 3pm and they told me it would be $155! Outrageous! I dropped off the night before, they didn’t finish until after 4pm. Still didn’t communicate with me. I pick up my car and find the receipt inside and NO INFORMATION or invoice on the parts, the oil they used the procedure done, cost of labor for the oil change. No breakdown. Just $155. $75 for the cheapest oil change and $80 freaking dollars to CHECK my break pads. I had to call in the next day to ASK for the information I PAID to receive. Because no where did it say the results of my “break inspection”. Just crickets and money lost. TL;DR Super horrible service, SUPER overpriced, undercommunicative, and slow. The only good thing about this place is they were able to get me in, but that’s probably because they can’t hold any customers.

On vacation my truck broke down in Yellowstone and was towed to the dodge dealer. They wouldn't even look at it for a week and since I was just visiting that wasn't gonna work. I found B&B online and called Bob. He was able to look at my truck the same day and fix it by the next day for a fair price. I couldn't be happier! Thank you Bob!

DO NOT bring your vehicle here. All of the recent reviews are one star, they are all spot on. I was hesitant to drop my truck off because the place looks like an absolute dump. I had an appointment for a Monday to get leaf springs replaced and I ended up going and getting my truck on Friday afternoon to take to a different shop. In the full week that they had it, it never moved on the lot. I called on Thursday to see if they were going to do anything and he said he’d get me a quote by the end of the day. I didn’t hear anything so I called 3 more times on Friday, no answer. I went down to the shop Friday afternoon to get my keys back and the guy scrolling on his cell phone behind the front desk told me “We’re just a little backed up”. If you’re so backed up that you can’t get a quote done for a simple suspension part in 5 business days, you should probably stop taking appointments. I’m glad I got my truck back before these bums could attempt to work on it. It’s worth your time to just wait for an appointment at a good shop in town.

I brought my car in to fix a serpentine belt and some leaks. Even though I was on the schedule, they didn’t even look at it that day. I called back for updates multiple times the next day and was pushed off and promised an update. By end of business on the third day when I hadn’t gotten an update, I went to go pick up my car to find out they had broken the starter. I get that I have an old car, and things happen. Had they called immediately and told me, I would understand. Instead I showed up with the intention of taking my car elsewhere after three days of poor communication to find out it won’t start. At that point I clearly and directly asked for a written quote to fix the starter and the original repair and explicitly said I wanted to see the quote before anything else was done because I’m considering selling the car. The next morning I call to ask about the quote, again, and they said they’d get it to me. Next communication I get is that they fixed the starter (that wasn’t broken when I dropped it off) and that I never authorized and explicitly asked them not to fix until I OK-ed it. When I finally went in to pick up my car, they claimed they didn’t know I wanted a quote and changed stories in the 10 minutes I was standing there. I feel extremely ripped off, and will not trust them with another repair again.

I have always had great service from these guys. I had my starter on my truck go out on a Friday morning. I called all over town & everyone was about a month out. I got a hold of these guys and they told me if I could get my truck in an hour before they closed they could have it up and running at their closing time....and they did! I had my truck back and ready to go for the weekend. Fast & reliable. Highly recommended.

B&B auto is incredibly unreliable. They never answer their phones, especially when they have your vehicle. Vehicles are also never fixed within the time frame given. My fiancé’s truck was there for over a month without them repairing it. Finally they “found a fix” and the truck still had the same issue within 24 hours, they “fixed it again” and same results. Now after spending all that money and time the truck has to be fixed by a different mechanic. Honestly, not even worth the one star rating.

These guys have done well for me before, but all of a sudden they ‘can’t get my vehicle on their lift’. Meaning they just don’t want to work on it anymore. Good for them if they want to lie to returning customers because they are so busy.

Took my car in on a Monday called several times to try to figure out what was going on with my car and no one would call back. Got a quote Wednesday finally and I once again asked for a timeline of when it would be done and no one called me back to let me know. I called five times in three days and left messages each time and no one got back to me. I then get a phone call at 2 o’clock on a Friday afternoon about how they have the wrong part and then I won’t get my vehicle until the next Tuesday. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere that has a better turnaround. Extreme lack of communication.

Update 2 months after my original review below: I just had to get my car towed and repaired by a different mechanic because the parts installed by B&B Auto fell apart. Original review: Trusting B&B Auto is the biggest mistake I’ve made in Montana. I called multiple times in vain, trying to get a diagnosis or quote. They never returned any of my messages. Five days in, they finally answered the phone and gave me a quote, but they later violated Montana law 23.19.02 by charging me beyond ten percent more than that quote without my consent. They broke my power steering line and blamed it on rust so they could charge me for it. I felt completely taken advantage of by this place. I finally got my car back three weeks later, filthy inside and out and with the tire pressure warning light on.

this place is perfect if you don't mind them having your car for nearly a week (with no justification btw!) and you love having your many phone calls to them ignored 🥰 used to be a reliable place, not sure what happened. very sad!

B&B did a great job on my 2010 Nissan Murano. I brought my vehicle into them, because it died, without any warning, and had rather confusing symptoms. After some testing & diagnostic work, they narrowed it down to needing a new alternator. They originally installed a refurbished alternator, to help try to keep the cost down. However, upon receiving my vehicle back within a few days, it died within a few hours. Which was very frustrating and confusing. Upon calling B&B, they sent their crew out, to me in the parking lot where it had died. They towed it back to their shop and proceeded to work on it. Only to discover that the refurbished alternator that they had been sold, was also shot. To make it right, They took my car back in for a few more days, and with no extra cost, to me for the second round of labor to again replace the alternator (with a new one, this time) they were able to get my vehicle repaired and back to happy & running well, within a few days! It was hard being without a vehicle for that extended period of time, but I SUPER appreciate the time & attention that was put into making sure my car was repaired fully and safe to drive! Also, KATE, at the front desk is a DOLL, to work with!!! She is kind, and very communicative! These guys are great! Highly recommend!

I called for oil change appointment. They set the date for almost 2 weeks later. I dopped it off in the morning and didn't hear anything until closing time. I discovered drips under my car. I called and they said 'Reilly will have to call you back since he worked on it'. After waiting a week with no call back, I investigated it myself. After wiping the plastic shield off and hoping it was just residue from the oil change, I checked on it 2 days later and it was all wet again. I removed the shield and found the drain plug was not tightened properly-I could move it with my fingers. Since it is now over a month and still no call, I figured others should know my experience.

Oooof. These guys wrecked my truck, I’ll never take it them again and I’ll never reccomend these guys. Bring your domestic vehicle in sure, don’t bring foreign cars. They took forever when they received my truck back for a ball joint they replaced a week before failed. That doesn’t happen. You replace your ball joints so they don’t fail. Continued to claim it wasn’t there fault and said it must have been a shoddy part, said they contacted the part manufacturer and he would contact me immediately. Never heard from any part manufacturer and they took three weeks to repair my truck that was very much messed up from that part failing just after I had gotten it back from them. I don’t know, seemed to get the run around and then when I got it back the cv shaft looked like it had not been replaced and oil had spewed everywhere. The guys were nice enough I had to talk too but it was a sketchy situation all around

Terrible. The place looks like a complete mess, and it is. The people seem to be nice, but that is the only good thing I can say. I waited a week for my appointment (A/C repair), which is fine. But 'appointment' implies something like "we have a block of time with a bay and mechanic blocked off for you". If that is not true, you communicate it. At the end of the first day (4:30pm) I called to ask the status (since no one had called me). I was told that they had no idea, but someone would _absolutely_ call me between 9-10am the next morning with answers. Nope. At 10:15 I started calling, and had multiple disconnects with no attempt from them to call me. After 11:00, (they had had the car for 27 hours) I finally got through. "Oh, we just started to look at it". NOT ok. If you are delayed, which happens, it takes 5 seconds to dial a number. You tell the customer what is going on. You don't lie. No organization, no communication, and no repairs. I took my car elsewhere, and I think I'm lucky I did.

Called one day for a quote.. wasnt a bad quote so I wanted to give them the business but I called back to schedule an appointment was told they are 2 weeks out.. I said that was fine I would schedule 2 weeks out.. then I was told to call back and talk to Bob and tried 3 times to reach him but was "he should be back in an hour" everytime... decided to go with a higher quote from a shop that actually wants my business... will never try B&B auto again.

HIGHLY recommend this place!!! Amazing service! They did an outstanding job on my truck!!! They truly saved us- we broke down outside of Bozeman and we are from New Mexico, definitely a long ways from home and we didn’t know anyone at all! They took us in and fixed up our truck and it has been running smoothly! We are so grateful and thankful for them!! They are heaven sent. Thank you guys! Keep up the great work!!!! These guys deserve your business! I am from out of town and had a short laundry list of trouble caused by winter weather. These guys were professional, quick, and honest. They finished faster than they thought, and instead of going with the original quote they lowered the cost when I wouldn’t have noticed the difference. They also gave me a lot of solid advice! Also each time I came in I noticed that some very salty looking mechanics were taking their cars or their family members cars here to get repairs done! Best mechanic experience I have ever had. Wish these guys were near my hometown. These are good, honest people and will make sure to take care of you! Be aware though that they don’t typically work on diesels. But since all I needed were rotors, brakes, and a couple of parts they were willing to work on it. All in all I could not be more impressed. I wish they were closer to my hometown.

We were traveling across the country and the rear brakes on our Tundra started falling. We called fifteen places in Bozeman, almost all said we need to wait for at least a week. We were traveling with no place to stay. B & B said come in, we will try to help. They did more than try, they fixed the brakes at a very fair price. They were busy with other customers but they made time for us. If I lived in Bozeman I would always take my vehicles there. Thank you!!!
