After being “misdiagnosed” by two dealerships and a private auto repair company, Thomas was able to properly identify an out of the ordinary issue with the electrical system in my Volkswagen, caused by water intake during one of the storms. He worked tirelessly to pinpoint the source of the problem and successfully resolved the issue for exponentially less cost than others had quoted. The customer service I received was truly excellent and reinforces the value of being able to rely on a local small business for something as important as auto repairs. I would recommend Autobahn to anyone.

Autobahn Express was recommended to me by another German car repair shop because the other shop didn't work on Audis. I brought a car in for an inspection. Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely forthright. He gave me an honest assessment of the car and some advice on how to handle it. They very purposely didn't do any more work than necessary to keep from adding on to the bill for a car they realized I wouldn't be keeping. I have no doubt that I will be using Thomas and Autobahn Express again in the future.

So thankful I found Thomas and Autobahn Express. As an owner of a 2009 VW Jetta it is hard to find a decent mechanic who knows the VW line. Thomas disected my issue of a needed crank sensor and gave me a good price. It's been running great and no stalling. Thank You Thomas!

Exceptional experience all the way around. Thomas was the only shop owner who LISTENED to what I thought the problems were with my VW CC, and he asked me probing questions to narrow things down, e.g., even asking what brand of gas I use. This simple variable was the root cause of the problem I was experiencing. He ruled out the suspected suspension fault I thought I had. Very fair, honest, and trustworthy. He has earned my business moving forward.

Watch out for places like this. Might do good work but they don’t appear to know how to earn a customer, are not professional in the least, and clearly take advantage of unknowledgeable people charging fees like $100 for the most simple thing you can do on a car. Stopped by this place to have my Airbag Light in my dash reset. A procedure like this would take aprox. 2 mins with no effort or specialized skill involved (the computer tool required for this costs as little as $60 on Amazon and is simple enough for a child to use). Asked if they would be kind enough to either let me do it or if I could pay them $10 for a quick help out. I was met with a rude “No” by the receptionist at which point the man working on the cars sarcastically said “I charge $100 just to hook up the computer.” At which point I told them I could buy the tool and do it myself for nearly half that. They responded with “good luck with that then” and I quickly took my business elsewhere. It’s a shame as I have 2 German cars with major services coming up in the next 6 months and I’m looking for a good shop to take them to. There’s plenty of options out there in Sarasota, and people deserve something more professional and friendly, and ethical than this place.

Tom and the whole gang from Autobahn Express are exceptional. First: Tom is exactly what you want when you're looking for a professional to maintain and repair your German vehicle. He's taken great care of us with our MINI Cooper—he's knowledgeable, experienced, and doesn't traffic in BS. His advice has been spot on, and the repairs and service we've received have been first class. More than that, you can really tell that he cares about his work. He sweats the details and he's a wealth of information. The other mechanics he's got working for him are excellent as well, and Tammy in the front office is a hoot. For any BMWs or other German vehicles I own in the future, Autobahn Express will be my shop!

I called Tom to get a pre purchase inspection for an older M3 BMW. He did a thorough analysis and found over 30 faults in the codes. Had I purchased the car it could have very costly. I highly recommend him as an honest and accommodating merchant.

If you have a BMW I highly recommend them. After being told our car needed $1000 in repairs by another shop Autobahn checked it over and cleared some faults that were not cleared properly by the previous shop. Had car back in less then hour and on top of that didn't charge anything.
