These guys are great! I had a coolant leak and they got me in/out with part replacement in under 3 days. Unheard of when it comes to good quality import mechanics here in Bozeman. Very reliable/reputable independent shop. Highly recommend

Nice guys here. Had brake issues last year and they sent me photos of the clamp part so I could confirm it really needed to be replaced. Last week I had misfire issues and they replaced my fuses, the same misfire code came back on after only a few days so I called them and they got me in first thing the next day. One of the fuses was faulty so they replaced it for free, no labor or anything. Only one of a few places that works on Volkswagens

Over $313.14 for an oil change and tire swap. That's synthetic blend as well. I suspect they are good mechanics, but come on. We might come back if we have serious mechanic work to do, but not for the simple stuff.

Came in on a late Friday afternoon dealing with a coolant leak, and needing a battery replaced. This was late on a Friday afternoon and in -30 temps. After about an hour they had diagnosed, fixed the coolant leak, and they replaced my battery. Extremely good customer service, and kind staff. Family run shop as well, with a comfy waiting corner. Can’t recommend these guys enough.

As gearhead I can feel out shops pretty well. Auto stop is the real deal. Their waiting room is clean and parts are organized and on shelves. The cleanliness translates to back of house as well. There’s many bays but it doesn’t mean they’re too busy to make sure their space is clean and put together. In my experience, this professional meticulousness translates into their care your car. They fit me in quickly and helped me out with a diy repair without question. Much different experience than other places in the valley. Respect. Do not hesitate to bring your car here for repair, you won’t be sorry.

I was traveling through montana to get to North carolina and not many shops were able to help me quickly. The guys working here were helpful even over the phone making sure i understood the possible problems with my car. The shop is also so clean!! Thank you guys!!!

Nice folks. I had a small issue with the skid plate under my car. They got me in right away and did a simple fix. In and out in 10 minutes. I will be back if I need further service on my Volvo XC60.

They did not change the cabin filter, but reported it needed to be changed. I will go to another place from here on, because the other shop would have replaced the filter for me.

Got an appointment one month out, but then they took 5 weeks after I dropped my car off to even look at it. I kept on being told that I would receive an update but never did, I had to contact them repeatedly for an update. They only fixed one of the two problems I asked them to fix, and I was too tired of dealing with them to ask them to finish the work.

Great shop with great service! Was passing through with my VW Syncro Westy and noticed I had a diesel leak, turned out to be a significant leak from the injection lines. It was the end of the day so Randy the owner squeezed me in first thing the next morning doing the brazing himself. Despite the last minute repair it was very reasonably priced. Very happy to have found a great mechanic for Vanagons in Montana as they are hard to come by. I don't write many reviews but these guys really deserve a good one!

I actually work for a local non-profit that helps people repair thier cars. I had a lady that purchased a batteryy through auto stop but it went bad after a year... bad parts happen, nothing they could have done, except exactly what they did. They made the warranty process easy and got her a new battery.

I am on a road-trip to here in Bozeman from Washington and my car started having a ton of issues. I called 12 places that were all full until around September. Then I called Auto Shop, they were also full but were so understanding of my situation (being stranded 700 miles away from home) and made space in there very very busy schedule to help me out! No other shops offered any help, this place is amazing, kind, and put customers first!

I really love this shop! I have a Mercedes Sprinter, and these guys always took really good care of it. They were always willing to read the codes for me when other shops would charge a $200 fee for the same service. They helped me get worked into the schedule and always listened to my concerns. Great shop! Highly recommend!

My family owned an auto parts store in the valley for over 25 years. I am very disappointed in the lack of communication and organization from Auto Stop. With that, I believe their mechanics are capable and talented. We scheduled a time to drop off our Westy and they were 3 weeks out. Understandable. The scheduled date came a went without a call to be updated. A week later nothing. We finally stopped by to see our van still sitting in the lot. Our camping trip was cancelled due to not having our rig. Drop off date late June, pick up date mid September. How disappointing. We provided a list of what we wanted checked and also asked them to do a "once over" to check for common issues with those vans. A week and half later, they had a list of items that needed to be addressed. Upon reviewing the bill, I was surprised that we were charged 1 hour to adjust the timing. It's a quarter hour job. The rest of the charges were ok (brake work, other diagnostic work). We had asked for certain items to be addressed that didn't get addressed. We attempted to pick up the van twice, only to leave it because what had asked to be done/looked at, were not addressed. When they did dig into the engine they discover some larger issues. Additionally we left our shop manual there for reference material. That seems to have gone missing while there as well. If you have a German/European car, and have the time, take it to Auto Works.

I have been going to this shop for almost 10 years now. I also want to prefix that this is the first poor review I have ever left. This shop has gone down hill in the last couple years, between the professionalism and quality of work. I recently had my vehicle in this shop and the job took 7 weeks, which is unacceptable. This is the second time my vehicle was in the shop within a year for the same problem because it was not addressed properly the first time. When I received my vehicle panels were not completely fastened and broken. This should have been delt with while they still had the vehicle or at least notified me of the damage. It also makes me question the work that I can not see. I am unimpressed and would not recommend this shop anymore.

The guys at Auto Stop are fantastic. I was driving across the country with a newly purchased BMW Z4. I had a check engine light come on and those guys diagnosed and fixed the problem in a few minutes. Definitely the place to go for any repairs! Thank you guys!!!
