Called ahead, they said they were closing at 5 for Brake Tag. Got there, they were nice as could be, very efficient, even added air to my tires, which were low. Couldn't ask for more. I will be back.

After calling and calling every place on my side of town (Gross Gates) with no one either A open or B ran out of brake tags i drove to Auto Masters... Jamie was awesome so nice and helpful totally understood what i was going thru. I'm guessing they hear it alot. She got me in and out for a brake tag. I highly recommend Auto Master. Great customer service was well. I will drive from now on to the other side of town just to deal with people that actually wanna help. Thank you Jamie i was losing my mind today and you helped me tremendously get my sanity back lol..

I thought I'd give this place the benefit of the doubt even after reading the negative reviews. The lady is bitter. First, she nastily told me to move my car so the lady can back out. My fault for not reading the posted signs. However, was it necessary to be rude towards a potential customer? I asked a simple question about why Rice's didn't fail my tint but she did. Her response, "Well then go back to Rice's." I explained that I felt she was offended bc I asked a simple question (I AM NEW TO LA). Then she tried to change her nasty attitude.I spoke with John about her attitude and the negative Google Reviews. He asked, "Well did she fail you bc of your tent." I explained the problem began when I pulled into the inspection bay. He said, "can you read?!" How about I will never return to a place of business where employees are HATEFUL! I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this place can rot in hell.

Brought a 2008 Pontiac Montana in with a spark plug loose on the rear side of the engine. The owner himself said it would probably need tapped and a new plug put in. I took his word, had the work done, which was $700 (high anyway) out of desperation. Long story short the head gasket blew right after that (which I assume was unrelated) and we had the motor dropped by a local mechanic. They DID NOT TAP the head. There WAS NO INSERT installed. There was a new plug installed in the back middle (where there was access) and another plug was still loose directly adjacent to this plug!! And I mean hand tight jiggling. He specifically told me when I requested that he would check/change ALL of the plugs! THAT IS WHAT WE AGREED TO FOR THE PRICE. He wasn't doing me favors saving me money and he didn't drop subframes and roll anything. This guy is a liar and took advantage of me as I could have easily changed a spark plug at home or at my own shop but I was traveling. Don’t let the smooth talker fool you. I have an invoice that says tap and coil a plug in the head and I also have the untapped uncoiled head! Plus I paid for a coil and parts that I don’t even have!! AHHH! AND THEN he corrects my grammar and verbiage when that was HIS verbiage on the invoice, but never attempts to call me or make anything right. Seriously beware

Boss Lady was nice enough, just made me feel I was less than honest. Like I was about to ask her to do something illegal or whatever. Simply was not the case. More like naiveness on my part. Just don't think I'll be going back. Lots of other choices!

Great, as long as you have registration, insurance,and license.. and yes your paper registration, apparently your tag is not good enough for a brake tag.

If you’re an African American please stay away from this business !! Refuse to service me because he had an attitude with me moment I rolled my window and noticed I was black . He literally screamed at me said he will not service me and I was going to fail the inspection in front of all us his white customers! A white driver pulled behind the same car I did and didn’t get yelled at . If I was a man or a white woman I know for sure he wouldn’t have yelled the way he did. Horrible!!!!

My car was over heating on my way to Indiana. They looked at it right as we entered and were able to diagnose and handle the problem fast. They got us back on the road quickly. They were able to work with my warranty which can soemtimes be annoying to deal with. Seem like honest people and the mechanic seems very knowledgeable!

They were extremely rude in explaining what I needed to get a break tag. I called the next day to complain about how rude the lady was to me and was hung up on by that same lady. I won't be conducting business there ever again.

I was driving when my car started making an extremely concerning noise. I pulled over quickly and after doing a quick review and finding nothing wrong, I looked up close car repair facilities, none of which answered the phone other than Automaster. The gentlemen was so kind, and said they would be happy to take a look, though they couldn't assure fixing it because they had other cars in front of them. They got me looked at immediately, added water to my overheating engine, and said for me to leave it overnight and they would diagnose the next day. He squeezed in an extremely upset woman, and even though they couldn't fix the problem, he gave me very real peace of mind, which helped me come up with a post diagnosis plan. I will absolutely come back to them in the future, either with this car (ONCE REPAIRED?!) or my next one. Thank you for your kindness.

Mr John can hear an engine and know what’s wrong…having a U.S. Navy career in aviation mechanics and engineering, our community is blessed to have him as a solution to quality auto care. In my case, I went in to take my 11 year old Chevrolet for it’s 200K mile tune up. Not only was his price on repairs very fair, he was thorough. And that professionalism, that pride in doing it right the first time is rare in today’s world. An honest, experienced mechanic…Priceless.

Had a Fleet of Fords and was looking to get a mechanic to start servicing them called this place and a Sean answered just to test there customer service I said I had a question and in the middle of my question he tells me hold on and puts the phone down. I found out what I needed to know in the first 60 seconds awful customer service.
