Started off good with them fixing a few big jobs on my jeep and they went well but having them replace a water pump and heater cooling hose on same vehicle on 12/10/2024 after picking it up and driving or so for a day i had no heat and my jeep was completely overheating which it never did with prior leak before they so called fixed the issue it was also leaking coolant from new spots and causing my engine to smoke then they act like they are soooo busy to take it back in after you have already paid your hard earned money to them they take it back but now i leave with an check engine light on which has never been on my dash i had to go ask them about it before i could even leave the parking lot what kind of shop wouldn’t mention a new issue the code came back for an oil pressure sensor i believe they’re creating more problems to take money from customers down the line i loved this place but will now stay far away and tell others the same

Just moved to Charlottesville and went here to get my safety inspection done. I emailed to schedule an appointment and showed up first thing in the morning. The inspections take about 30-45min and I opted to wait. There is a great little waiting area with snacks, coffee, and tea. Free WiFi and a public computer if you need. Sadly I ended up waiting 2 hours, but I didn’t have anywhere I needed to be so it was ok. When I checked out, they were very apologetic for the wait and waived the inspection fee for me. Overall great service, kind people, and nice waiting area. I will be returning!

API has a solid team and have taken care of my cars for years. They always answer my questions, offer reasonable pricing, and I haven't had any issues with repairs.

They are very accommodating, a shuttle if needed, but they have a nice waiting area as well. Wifi, coffee, drinks & snacks provided. Service & staff were excellent! Finished an hr sooner than estimated, nice plus! Will definitely be back!

Called and made an appointment for a state inspection. Arrived on the day of, got my inspection, and was on my way within the hour. Great service and friendly staff!

Rude and untrustworthy. Charged outrageous prices for small work and when I declined any jobs with them, I picked up my car and it started making a noise I've never heard before. How does a car leave the shop in worse condition than when it arrived? DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE

I have been a customer for about 8 years now, and their service has been absolutely fantastic with no exceptions. Services that I have used include buying and replacing tires, tire rotation, balancing and alignment, replacing the starter, tie rods, power steering, battery, tire pressure sensor, muffler, oil change, brakes, and state inspections. Prices are always reasonable, not once have I thought that I was overcharged. Staff are all awesome. I highly recommend this shop!!!

My before and after pictures of my cylinder head. Took em to the machine shop at API and Randy hooked me up!!! Unbelievable how clean they came and he replaced what was needed and made it spotless. Backstory to the 1st and 2nd pic I had a microfiber get sucked into my #6 cylinder.. I had melted towel and cotton everywhere in the air intake and head. Be sure to ask for Randy to clean up all your motor parts!!!!

Today I rushed in to API with what was clearly a tire that was in dire need of attention (flat as pancake). Of course I didn’t have an appointment, in fact I was on my way to pick up my special needs son. At first I wasn’t sure they were going to be able to help me out. I was so stressed because I needed to get to the school. These guys were awesome! Not only did they scoot me in but I was early getting to my sons school! I will definitely be seeing them again as my mechanic retired! It’s so nice that there are places that still believe whole heartedly in good customer service. My bill was all of $24.00 but the service was as if I was spending $2400! Thanks again API for fixing my tire and getting me safely back on the road!

The other honest shop in Charlottesville Va. Great workmanship. My friends ask me where to take their vehicles to get work done. And i say the two best places are API service center or Jenkins automotive. I'm not going anywhere else!!!
