I was referred to this mechanic by a co-worker. I have been going to him for everything. Recently, I called to see if he could look at my car. He told me to drop it off tomorrow. I told him I would need to drop it off before work. I had to get a ride from mechanic to work and back. I left my car for 8 hours and when I dropped by to get my car, he told me, they didn't have time. I asked the day before if I could drop it off, dropped it off for 8 hours and he didn't have time to look at it. A complete waste of an hour going back and forth with NO CAR. He told me to leave it and he MIGHT be able to look. I live too far to leave my car, so sadly left without even getting it looked at or fixed. I have gone to him many times, but it only takes that one time to ruin the experience and trust. I'll be shopping for a new mechanic that has time. Good guy, just not reliable to look at my car when I drop it off.

We had a failed smog check, and had the repairs done at Andy's Auto Repair. He was able to help us right away. Which we we're able to pass our smog check. Thank you!

I have been here on 3 occasions. New battery and installation and two separate oil changes. I feel my car received excellent service by elderly mechanics that were clearly experienced and have been doing car repair forever. Their pricing is standard to what everything is nowadays. I am going to contact them about changing the transmission fluid in a sealed - closed box system and differential fluid.

I was referred to this place and called ahead to schedule an oil change. When I arrived, they asked me to drive around and come back in 30 minutes so they could take their lunch break. It would have been helpful if they had mentioned this when I called, saving me the time and inconvenience. Disappointed with the lack of communication.

I usually go here for an oil change because they get it done fast, which is good, but decided my tires were due for a tire rotation and first time ever get it done here, and Andy was the person to do the tire rotation, he removed my wheel and literally threw the wheel down on its back and made such a loud noise when he could’ve just spend the extra 2 seconds laying it down nice and carefully, this guy doesn’t care about other peoples valuables clearly, mind you these wheels were $3500. I’d steer clear away from this place, and take your business somewhere else.

I would not recommend This mechanic shop they steal your money they charge you over prices. They charged me 40 bucks for oil change, and then the Asian guy they took him my car. They never told me how much she’s going to be and I told Lynn. I only say no English in English. so I don’t recommended this.

I have been going to Andy for years, more like 20+ years. Recently I took my car because the car alerted my front lower break pads need attention. He looked at the car and said I need rear break pads replaced. I asked him why does the car give me a different alert he yield and While moving his hands gesturing that he is too busy. He said I don’t have time for talking and yield again “do you want your car fixed or not”(repeated a few times). Thankfully I did not leave my car with him. I took the car to 2 other repair shops and sure enough I needed the front break pads replaced. Never going back to Andy.

It is very seldom that a shop owner like Andy is actively involved in troubleshooting and getting your car fixed. Everyone works diligently when the boss leads by example and works side by side with the crew, like family.

Cheap and Fast! They are really good people, the service price is much cheaper than other stores around. 25 bucks battery installation fees as compared to more than 50 bucks in other stores. I also did the oil change, they honestly told me two options of oil, the more expensive synthetic oil only takes 65 bucks. and they finished it in about 10 mins. No appointment, no waiting, cheapest, and they would tell you all they know. Highly recommended! The location is hard to find, but when you find it, you earned!

Had my catalyst converter stolen on my older Honda and Andy was the only mechanic who offered me a fair and timely deal. California emission laws are strict so that along with the age of my car, repairing the cat can cost upwards up to 3k. I called 5 mechanics, and Andy was a steal compared to the others. He researched the parts I needed and made sure it was within California emission laws. I got some other work on my car while he had it such as transmission fluid, checking my electrical wires and switching out a bad water pump. He's a local business owner who has been serving San Diego for over 30 years, and I'm very pleased with my repairs and how fair everything was. When I picked up my car he explained in detail what was worked on, what was replaced and what potentially needs to be worked on. I'll be coming here again for future repairs.

Work seems okay but initially he told me the warranty was for 12 months, but after the service was done he said the warranty was only for 90 days or 4000 miles for labor and parts were for 12 months. Quite misleading and some dishonesty couldn’t be ruled out. I hope Andy was more honest about it upfront.

Knowing about a trustworthy shop like Andy's auto repair is the reason I'm satisfied with keeping my Toyotas each with over 200k miles. Their prices are fair and the speed of their work is excellent. Furthermore, they take business with a smile, they don't complain and are always professional. Other mechanics have a less than positive attitude, do low quality work, and leave a mess in my car. Not at Andy's. I feel very fortunate to know about Andy's auto repair.
