I called AAA when my car wouldn't start. A AAA technician checked an said it was probably the alternator and not my battery and arranged a tow, but my previous garage had closed. Well, I was okay because the AAA rep said they have a garage and it was towed there. Steve called asking what the problem was. I said check engine and battery light came on. He called back saying he would need to put a battery in to check the alternator saying my battery was no good. Now the tow truck driver had been 30 minutes showing and checking, and according to his instruments, the alternator was draining the battery. Anyways, $320 later, I, 75 year old, picked up car and 2 days later same lights are on. I called the garage, they said $179 just to look , because there's rattling under the hood now. .2 days later I'm stranded and calling for a tow truck again, tow truck driver checked and said needs alternator. Trust AAA tow truck drivers. BEWARE OF STEVE AMERICAN GARAGE, SCAMS, TO SELL UNNECESSARY BATTERIES AND NOT REPAIR YOUR CAR SO YOU HAVE TO COME BACK, breakdown and have to get someone Else to repair your car.

I am a college student away from home and Steve went above and beyond making sure my car is safe to drive while I am here! Anytime my car makes a peep, I bring it right over and they are happy to check it out. They not only do great work but truly care about their customers, I am grateful to have found this place.

I have taken my car to them twice now. They accurately diagnosed my issues and fixed them in a reasonable time and at a good price both times. The waiting area has desks and wifi. I brought my laptop and worked while I waited.

Costco said my vehicle was in dire need for alignment due to irregular wear on my tires whe n rotated. Took it right to American Garage and the Specialist & Manager Steve reported, alignment diagnostic NO CHARGE because Costco was mistaken! I found this company refreshingly honest and has integrity; which is hard to find these days! I will return because they could of just charged me and I would not know any difference. Give this company a chance! I will be returning to this place for service! Thanks 😊

I was referred to AG by an acquaintance. I read the reviews before I went. They are local and family owned. The people that work there are extremely nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I had newly purchased a 2006 H2 and it needed a top to bottom check up. They were very reasonable with their pricing and never too busy to answer all my questions and there were a lot! A great shop. They honored a voucher for a tail light repair JSO gave me that even Chrysler Jeep Dodge would not. Not to mention they were extremely courteous. Don't waste your time with the SCAMMERS of the world like Midas and Firestone... There's still good ones out there and American Garage is indeed one of them.

Very trustworthy and adorable. Best bang for your buck. My initial quote was $488. The next day when I came in, they figured out the root cause of the issue. Turns out it was a different issue, yet they dropped the price in half anyway!

we took a day trip down to jacksonville from charleston to pick up some sound equipment, got a flat and was towed to American Garage on friday night, we didn’t realize the shop is closed on the weekends (completely our fault) and panicked because we have a flight to catch on monday back in charleston, Steve and his staff were amazing to take time out of their weekend to come get our key out of the drop box for us! Very kind and trustworthy people to go out of their way to help us out. Thank you again

American Garage has really cool diagnostic testing and they'll send link to results pages right to email/text, The vehicle is inspected rather quickly and repairs made fast too. Total cost was better than most places. ♥️ American🇺🇲Garage!

I truly believe that Steve (owner) is absolutely honest with me about what I really need to fix and what I don’t. He told me to take my car to the dealer when it was burning oil before it hit 100k, and I wish I listened to him (maybe I would still be driving it). Previous mechanics did not mention it to me. He actually collected the used oil and showed it to me in person. Anyway, I highly recommend this shop. Make sure you talk to him even if it is on the phone or via text. The mechanics at this place might tell you need to do ten things, but Steve will tell you which one of those ten do you really need.

So This garage and Steve single handedly fixed an electrical issue I have be dealing with for over six months. And did it in like four days. They do good fast work at very reasonable prices. Take your vehicle here and I do not think you will regret it. I strongly recommend them. They are also very good about communicating with you and sending you a detailed report with pictures of the work as they are completing it.

Y'ALL ARE AMAZING!! I took a 2009 Honda CRV in for a pre purchase inspection. Upon the inspection were three things that were big worries-- y'all were upfront and honest, and I was able to negotiate the dealership into fixing those issues for me while staying in my price range. You have earned a customer from me going forward, and my sister too. We really enjoyed how hospitable and kind everyone was, and how y'all showed us everything to help us get what was worth it for our money and time. Thank you so much! I'll definitely be back!
