I have been taking my car to Mr. Amberger and his team for many years. One of the struggles that I faced moving to a big city like Austin was finding a good, honest mechanic. I was referred to Mr Amberger by a co-worker, and I could not be more grateful. Amburger Automotive has saved me a lot of money over the years. They're always honest and straightforward. They never charge you more than what it should cost and never recommend anything that doesn't need to be done. I can tell you this because this has been the case time and time again for me. Many times I went to Mr. Amberger and his team thinking I was in store for a massive repair bill. Time after time I was pleasantly surprised. They were always able to find what was the true root cause of whatever issue I was experiencing. I could not recommend this auto repair shop more. I live all the way in North Austin and will continue to drive all the way to the southern tip of Austin when I need a mechanic because, yes, they are just that good!

I have never been so satisfied with a repair shop for my vehicle! The staff here is beyond amazing, they took my vehicle in immediately had it diagnosed within the hour and had it repaired by the next day! I had a few issues with my car warranty company and they went out their way to get it all squared away. They are very reasonably priced for their work. I will definitely be back in the future for all my vehicle concerns, so glad I found this place!! Thank you, you have earned a customer for life!!

Best auto shop I've ever found. These guys know their stuff. I've been coming here for 7+ years now. Don't think I'll ever have to look anywhere else to assist with my car problems again. Unless they move. Oh wait they did. The new shop is great! Thanks guys for all the help!

Came in needing a new sensor installed, and a new trustable mechanic. They were very helpful, didn’t charge me, and said to call the next time something came up. Awesome service, will be back.

Wish I could give them (him) more stars! I desperately needed my backseat Seatbelt fixed before having my baby in a few weeks. Called John and he was so accommodating around my schedule and getting me in. When I took my car in, the entire experience was amazing! He fixed my seatbelt in what felt like the snap of his fingers, and when he came back to give me an update in his office he was so open and upfront about other things he would be able to fix for me. I have quite a few other things needed done on my car and will 100% be taking it over to see him asap! I won’t be going to any other mechanic as long as he’s available! 😊 Overall very kind, inexpensive, very efficient, and a wonderful person/place to have working on your vehicle with whatever you may need. 👍🏼

Great experience here yesterday. I was originally going to take my car to a very reliable but pricy local mechanic but they were too busy. A friend recommended Amberger. Got my power stearing fixed up without charging an arm and a leg for unneeded work and even fixed my AC after completing the work I originally brought it in for. Was communicating with me through the whole process and even went above and beyond to get all the work done in one day so I could have my car ready for work the next day. Thank you so much John and team. Y’all are my new mechanic for anything I need.

Great folks at Amberger. Fair prices, good people, they don’t try to upsell you on something you don’t need and they are fast. As long as I live in South Austin, I will always take my cars to these guys.

One of the best and most personable Mechanics here in Austin. John and his team took care of my vehicles' engine motor mounts fairly quickly. We came to find out that one of the new parts was faulty and he was quick to take care of the problem. Even when he was sick and out of the shop, he still reached about to me and made sure that I was properly taken care of. Highly recommended them for anyone here in Austin!
