I had a decent two years here. Found the prices reasonable and the interactions accommodating, up until the parity we just experienced today between how I'm treated and how my fiancee is treated. Last year my fiancee brought her Chevy Equinox in to get a standard maintenance -- oil change and rotation -- and when she got it back, the car smelled of burning oil every time she drove it. She subsequently took it to a Chevy dealership to be looked at,who told us that they didn't screw on the cap correctly after the oil change and that oil had been splashing inside the engine block and cooking. She stopped taking it to ASG after that but recently went back in a tight position before a road trip. This time, whoever worked on the car apparently disconnected a sensor or something, which produced an error on the dash, and when we spent time trying to notify them, they ducked us. Finally she was able to take the vehicle back and the owner was dismissive of her concerns and flat out disrespectful. It may not have been their fault but the entire interaction was not only disrespectful but also disingenuous, like he was trying to avoid the responsibility and refusing to give her any benefit of the doubt. I also highly doubt he adequately checked the vehicle. He didn't see the error message on a drive around the block and immediately was dismissive of the concern. When my fiancee produced a photo from the day following the oil change which we suspect produced the error, he changed his tune some but frankly was still a complete jerk. Even the receptionist was dismayed. Luckily her father is a mechanic for Chevy, back where she's from out of state. So, we're done. Maybe we should have not brought it back; I don't know. I like to give neighborhood guys a chance, but that's it for this mechanic. Proceed with caution and skepticism.

We’ve been bringing both our cars here for a few years since we moved to the neighborhood and recommend it to everyone. Prices are reasonable but the service is why we are willing to to pay a little more than previous places that we tried and had awful results. The employees are upfront about everything and take care of issues quickly. They’ll call you once they diagnose any issues to get the OK on repairs. Staff is friendly and extremely competent.

I have taken my car there multiple times and have spent over $2,500 in total there. I never had a complaint about the work or prices so I figured now that I'm in need of more repairs why not give them a call. I was on the phone for a grand total of 51 seconds and was cut off 4 times before I finally said nevermind and a few other words then hung up. I may not be their #1 customer but they've just lost a loyal one who would've kept bringing them business. I'm done recommending them and hope reviews like this make them realize they shouldn't be such JO's

Been there twice. Once for plugs and an inspection, the other for a water pump. Both times my vehicle was finished with in a day and the price was fair. You can't ask for much more from a mechanic.

I am so happy I finally found a mechanic I trust. I had a great feeling about these folks when I called for my initial appointment. They took their time to listen to my issues and gave a detailed explanation on how they planned on proceeding. As a single woman, I often get nervous going to mechanics as I know NOTHING about cars but these guys are extremely transparent and professional about everything. I feel comfortable recommending Almond Street Garage to my neighbors, family and friends. :)

I have an older car that I want to get rid of soon, but has some damage and wanted to make sure it was still safe to drive for a bit longer. They took a look and gave me an honest opinion... a huge help. I will definitely go back when I need service in the future. Easy to communicate with and got me in really fast.

Very nice guys , took the time to explain what was wrong with my car. Had to have the throttle body replaced & it was reasonably priced. Ran good. However less than 2 days later my car battery suddenly caught fire & now I have no car and am out $400+. Unsure if it’s related since the throttle body is not near the battery, but I had no previous battery issues.
