My 2017 Sonata Hybrid needed 60,000 mile check up. My owner's manual recommended changing the HSG belt but Rusty (owner) said the belt is as good as new and does not need to be changed. He was very honest about it and saved me the money but recommended spark plug change which I agreed to and hope it cures the car's low mileage problem. Love the honesty and I recommend this place to others for auto repairs.

I had a great experience at ALMAR Auto Repair, where I went in for a safety inspection and it was quick and easy. Though, I had to do make some changes to my car and they were very helpful in explaining what I needed to do, and I came back in the afternoon to finish the inspection. Great service overall. Been here to see Rusty multiple times and every experience is awesome. Everyone here is efficient, honest, and very communicable about whatever issues are going on with your car. Fantastic service and super friendly crew. They were able to get my vehicle in quickly too even though a dead battery delayed my arrival. Super fun waiting room and a great coffee spot next door to get treats while you pass the time. Highly recommend!

I am very happy with my service at Almar. My experience with auto repair facilties has always been that they promise to call you when they are done with your service. Over 50 years I can count on one hand when that actually happened. One thing that makes Almar special is that they constantly communicate. I got called 3 times during service to update the progress and get approval on obtaining parts from the Ford dealer. Then, when service was done I actually received 2 phone calls: one from the repair man and one from the owner himself. On top of all that they did an excellent job with repair. These guys are definitely different in every good way.

They did a great job getting my Chevy Trax fixed up. Brought it in with a coolant leak and check engine light. They diagnosed both problems promptly and were able to fix them. Prices were very fair based on the repairs needed. Car has been running great so far since. Will definitely be using them for future repairs.

I always come to Almar when I’m having an issue with any of my vehicles. They do exactly what they say they will, and they work me in if I don’t have an appointment. This is my go-to mechanic in Charlotte.

I live in NJ and my son is attending UNCC. He thought he had a dead battery and went to auto zone. Several hundred dollars and one day later, the typically reliable car died. The towing mechanic suggested it was the alternator. I had to make a rapid choice for where to have the car towed to. I came across ALMAR’s stellar ratings and decided to take a chance. Although it was after-hours, I called to leave a message explaining why there was a random car in their lot. Much to my surprise, I received a phone call later that evening from Rusty, asking about a missed call from my number. I had an idea then and there that I found a trustworthy business, and I was correct. Rusty coordinated the repair with my son, and the job was completed quickly and efficiently, for a very fair price. Rusty and ALMAR have all of my future business and I will recommend them to everyone we know in the Charlotte area without reservation. Thank you, Rusty and ALMAR!

This shop is a rip off. They charge me $1,200 more then what I was able to get the work done somewhere else and this is no exaggeration. Truly $1,200, they also tried to charge me for work that didn’t need to be done so they also lied and they were rude and pushy about getting the work the immediately. I wouldn’t step foot in this place take my word for it I just moved to charlotte and hoped I found a place I could trust but I wouldn’t advise this place to the devil or my worst enemy.

This was a rough experience for everyone involved as this was electrical by nature of the PCM dying and PCMs are difficult to get especially when in vacation. Mike went out of his way to do what he could to get the car to us as fast as possible. I also appreciate Rusty’s understanding with our financial situation. All in all it took a little over a week when other places would have been at least 2. The price was fair as well. I highly recommend ALMAR.

I went here based on Google reviews that painted it in a very favorable light. Boy were they right. I was just going to get an alignment and I knew there was something pretty wrong with my drive train too. While they couldn't get the alignment done due to the other issue, they were able to find out what was wrong, and quickly. Not only was I not billed for the time (because I was coming back), they got the parts in and my car fixed the next morning. They were pleasant to deal with, easy to work with, and didn't try to do anything shady like I've dealt with at other shops. I was in, out, and on my way with a car that didn't shake like it was possessed in a few hours, and the repairs were very fairly priced. I will be using them in the future for any other repairs or inspections needed on my arthritic Camry. The first time I went was great. They put brakes on the second time. I took it to a body shop the week after, where they discovered the brakes (both front wheels) were really loose. They could rattle them back and forth. They fixed them (along with the body work), and my car drove smoother and quieter than ever. I will not be trusting my safety on the road to Almar again.

I have been going here for years now and have only had positive experiences. They are reliable, thorough, honest, and knowledgeable. They are very responsive and make sure to properly plan out when people come in so you aren’t waiting for a long time. They will go above and beyond to figure out a problem. When my old car had a problem that was intermittent they asked if one of the mechanics could drive it to and from work to try and recreate the problem properly. They would also call and talk to my Dad since he is retired and I was working to discuss the problems with my car and make decisions. As a young, single, female I can’t stress how important it is to me that I have found this place in a bigger city like this. Highly recommend!

A few weeks ago my car blew an engine, without knowing what to do from there i started calling around. I came across Almar auto repair, and i am sure glad i did. The owner Rusty called me back immediately and he assured me they could help. I brought my car there the next day and they addressed the issue immediately. My experience dealing with Rusty and Mike was nothing short of incredible and i would recommend anybody with car trouble to Almar.

Brought my car here with a catalytic converter problem and wanted it fixed before i moved to florida. I don't know much about cars which is why I was cautious of which shop I chose, so I read lots of reviews and I'm glad I did. The reviews are dead on. what a couple of honest reliable and knowledgeable men. Rusty and Mike recommended to me frankly that the repair wouldn’t be worth the money for me. Even though it is in their best interest to sell work, they were still looking out for my best interest. So they looked at it and gave it back to me for free, ultimatley giving me all I could ask for which is an honest, professional opinion from the ones who know best, as someone with little experience who could be taken advantage of if I'm not careful. Thanks a lot guys for the recommendation and for putting my best interests in mind. All I can ask for as a customer. Cheers

I cannot speak highly enough for the group at ALMAR. Everyone on their team is kind, knowledgeable, and so responsive. Even after hours! We have used them several times now and I will not be going anywhere else. They are so honest and put forth the extra effort on everything they do. Not to mention they are certified auto repair with Costco and uphold their pricing agreement. They were well under the quoted cost of the GMC repair shop and dealer ship on South Blvd and much more open and honest and diligent on our car issues. I will be referring them to everyone I know and more!!
