They seem friendly here and say they work on everything, which unfortunately means they are incompetent at everything. Completely missed serious damage causing the rear trunk to not close/align properly. Absolutely useless pre-purchase inspections. Did not even bother to measure tread depths, brake pad life, battery health, belts, or really check anything. Charge $190 to basically look at the car and tell you everything looks "normal" if a car moves since it's a 10 year old car. Can't recommend

Rusty and the team at Allman Family Auto are fantastic. They have repaired a few different issues on my daughters car and each time the results were great. They are very responsive, informative and do reliable, quality work. I will continue having my daughter bring her car in here for any future repairs.

Just picked up my car from getting new breaks and rotors and was super impressed by Rusty and the entire team at Allman Family Auto! After seeing reviews, we called them the same day the breaks in our Ford Edge started making noise and they took us in the next day and we were in and out the same day. We also got a 10% discount for being a first time customer which was an added bonus. Thank you again for getting us back on the road and safe!

Been coming to Allman Family Auto ever since I moved into the area 4 years ago. They have always been super upfront and honest and want your car to run at its overall best. I recently had to bring my vehicle in for some brake work. They were able to slide me in the next day when I contacted them, which is unheard of in my experience. They communicated with me throughout the whole process and got the work done extremely fast and efficiently at a reasonable cost. Rusty is such an amazing and charismatic person who makes you feel extremely confident in leaving your vehicle with them. You can tell that he genuinely cares about every single customer that comes in. Also, Shoutout to John and the rest of the crew at Allman Family Auto. Do not waste your time going anywhere else because you will not find the service that Allman Family Auto has to offer.

Five stars - six if I could! for Allman Family Auto! Our daughter goes to SDSU and her car was pulling strongly to the right. We called Allman’s Family Auto and Rusty reassured us that “our princess’ chariot will be well taken care of”. And it was. He was very kind to our girl, fit her in the next day and made sure all was well. Grateful it was an easy process, a fair price and a super sweet mechanic. Highly recommend! This out of state mama knows where to send the car for service for as long as she is in San Diego! Thank you Rusty!

Rusty was incredibly kind and helpful to our college-aged child. Got the car in and out quickly and didn’t try to talk her into unnecessary fixes. Honest shop that we will continue to go to with the utmost confidence. Rusty just made that whole experience even more pleasant and not stressful at all!

My daughter attends college near this shop and I want to thank them (Allman Family) for taking care of her and her car in an honest hassle free way. She took the car in for a problem with a window and it turned out to be a simple fix that they did not charge her for. While there, she had an oil change and some other minor repair work performed at a fair price that was completed on time. I live in Georgia and wish I had a shop as well run as this one near me. Thanks Rusty and crew for being excellent.

finding an honest mechanic, especially as a female, is always a struggle. I have had nothing but amazing experiences every time i take my car into Allman family auto. Rusty is always so cheerful and pleasant to interact with. he has answered every question i have had, no matter how silly, without making me feel belittled or incompetent. never once have i felt like they’ve taken advantage of me for any issue i’ve brought my car in for. if you’re looking for an honest, reliable and knowable mechanic look no further i recommend them to everyone i know

Allman Family Auto is run by standup people. Mike and Rusty are excellent. They stand by their work. They own their work. They are to the point, don't upsell things you don't need, communicate and will explain things to you, and keep your vehicle running. I was taking my car to a different shop for maintenance for convenience, but they started trying to upsell and convince me to replace not only worn components but the entire assembly because "its the standard" even though I know it is not. Allman Family Auto completed the job the right way and for a fair price, and have given timely, legitimate recommendations for maintenance. Don't see myself going elsewhere for my maintenance, and recommend you give them a try.

The customer service I received from these guys was great. Unfortunately, after the service was completed my car broke down and overheated in 3 different states. I had to have the car towed twice and took it to 3 different shops until finally my local Toyota dealer found the problem. My radiator and thermostat had been replaced by Allman, on a Lexus LS460. I did not have any issues for a month or two after the service. Once I started doing long drives the car started overheating. Finally after having the car towed back to my local Toyota dealer (Grants Pass Toyota), they found the problem. When the thermostat was replaced, one of the 3 bolts used to button up was the wrong size. All 3 bolts should be 10mm. One of the bolts used was 11mm, which kept the housing from completely sealing correctly. I have not had a problem since GP Toyota identified this issue and have put nearly 10k miles on the car. I called Allman every time the car broke down and they were very helpful in trying to identify the issue, thank you Rusty. They did take the time to talk to a few of the different shops that tried to help find the problem. I appreciate this and think there customer service is great. Unfortunately, I was still left stranded in Utah, Washington, and Oregon. From now on, I'm going to stick to Toyota/Lexus dealers for work on my car. I think a brand specific specialist is just a safer way to go after this experience.

Went in for an opinion about my AC system. It seemed that the compressor was not turning on all the time. Rusty, who was the nice man in the office, took time and explained it was probably the compressor clutch. He knew I was living just over the border in Mexico and suggested I had it done down there. He was concerned I would be without my car for too long if I left it for them in San Diego. It turned out to be the compressor clutch, just as Rusty suggested. I would not hesitate to take my car here in the future at all. I got a very good vibe from Rusty and can see they are honest. Thanks!

Been taking my cars to Allman Family Auto for the past five years and there's no where else I would take my car at this point. Most recently, I returned for an issue with my car and after a diagnosis, Robert called me and said the issue had to do with a part failing that they replaced a few months back that was still under warranty and they were going to fix everything at no cost. Throughout the process, Robert has been awesome with making sure my car gets taken care of and communicating along the way. Thank you Robert and everyone at Allman Family Auto!

Hands down the best mechanic in SD. I drive from north county just to get my car worked on here. Honest, fair priced, and straight forward in there explanations. In 8 years I have never had a problem with them. I can't recommend them more.
