Service type: Transmission/Clutch Vehicle: 2006 Mazda B-2300 5-speed manual transmission Mileage 129,000 Experience: My B-series truck had 2 previous mechanics service the clutch. I was still having shifting issues. Facing a total transmission replacement as suggested by a previous mechanic I called Daniel. He discovered the replacement clutch was faulty (dimensionally inaccurate/out-of-spec). This was an oversight the previous mechanics missed. My transmission was fine after all. Daniel kept me updated every day on the repair of my truck. Now, that truck shifts better (literally) than the day I drove it new off the Mazda dealership’s lot. Daniel did a proper job and didn’t cut corners. I highly recommend AAMCO if you need something fixed correctly. If you treat Daniel with honesty and respect, he will reciprocate your kindness.

Quick and fantastic service! They resurrected my brakes back to life. They assessed the repairs needed, quoted me, and stuck to the quoted amount when it came time to pay. (Not including tax of course). I'll be back to this location for any future service.

Came here after another shop did a shoddy job, Daniel was great. He was transparent about the work needing to be done and was very nice along with Amber. They communicated well and got the job extremely fast. Truck now runs great and I really really recommend them

The most honest and quick vehicle service we have found in years. Fixes transmission and radiator parts same day and called to communicate in a timely manner after the diagnostic without us needing to follow up or wonder if we had been forgotten. Friendly, honest people! We will definitely be back!

Took truck in twice bc it was was acting kinda weird with transmission. They could not duplicate and was honest about recommendations. Without being able to duplicate problem we were told it may or may not be a number of issues. Greatly appreciate the honesty and not just telling us it was one thing and costing us thousands if it definitely was not the issue. Told us what he thought I could be but without duplicating it was hard to say. Hard to find places to trust and definitely recommend

Was on a road trip when I started experiencing problems with my transmission. Got it to Daniel and his team and they quickly diagnosed the problem and got it fixed. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and answered all my stupid questions. Couldn’t have been happier with the services and support they provided. 10/10, if I break down traveling through Knoxville again I’m taking it to them.

Daniel was very helpful in helping me with my truck. He sat on the phone with me twice explaining things to me and what he would do if needed. He would call with updates and give me pricing and options on everything that needed fixing. Very appreciate of him and AAMCO and truck has been running great so far!

I only take my five cars to AAMCO on Kingston Pike for repairs. From day one many years ago they’ve always done right by me. Honest, helpful, and never gouging like I felt happening to me at previous automotive repair shops. They stand behind their work. Daniel runs a well-oiled machine and explains everything so thoroughly before doing the work so I know what’s involved. Christy keeps check-in and check-out smooth as silk. They remember my name when I come in or call. Very personable people - it’s funny but we swap stories about what’s going on in our lives. Where do you go that that happens? It’s great to have somewhere to take my cars where there’s absolute trust. Take your cars there everytime.

Thanks to the team at AAMCO at 844 Kingston pike ..Cristy & Daniel ..my car got diagnosed & a new transmission was put in my 2019 Sentra…they where fast at getting me financed for some of it & back on the road in a fast & timely manner …the car runs and drives like new thanks again ..I would highly recommend them & will be taking future cars there when have problems..thanks again

Excellent customer service and honesty! We took my older son’s car to them because we were told he’d need a transmission replacement. They did a diagnostic to make sure because they didn’t want us spending the money on something that big if it was something else. Ended up being something much smaller and saved us about $5000 dollars. Since they already earned my trust, I took my youngest son’s Jeep up there for a differential issue. They did some testing and felt safer with us taking it to a specialist. They didn’t even charge us for what they did on the Jeep to determine that. I highly recommend them! Christy was super nice and helpful!

Great, honest people. Took my vehicle in for a diagnostic after another shop could not find the issue I wanted addressed. This team was able to diagnosis and fix it. Have started bringing all my vehicles here now.

Daniel was 100% upfront and transparent, Christie was an absolute charm with customer service - next transmission issue I ever have, I will be towing it to them to make sure the service is as good as it was this time. When dealing with vehicle repairs it is tough to know who you can trust and who will give you the best service on your vehicle. I can confidently say AAMCO on Kingston pike does great work and has great customer service. I brought my 2007 GMC Canyon in to have some work done on the transmission. AAMCO had my vehicle ready to go in two days and I payed much less than I was expecting. Daniel is a manger at AAMCO and took great care of me. He shot me straight and did not try to upsell me. He did the work that needed to be done and provided great customer service. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to AAMCO on Kingston Pike for all of your vehicle repair needs.

I dropped off my vehicle on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday afternoon I received a phone call with a detailed quote. I accepted it and got my car back on the next Tuesday. It drives great again. Thanks Daniel and crew!

don’t waste your time or hard earned money on this place. I’m not a give review kind of person infact this is my first one ever. spent almost 5k for 6 month problem free (currently still under mileage warranty not sure about month worrent tho) had transmission re built in July 2023 December 2023 I brought it in for concern of clunking downshift randomly and slight pulsing of rpm. They “drove it for hours” said couldn’t feel anything. maybe it was just in my head so continued driving it. Few weeks go by pulsing got worse and a squeal from torque converter was starting to get loud, brought it back, was told starter squal (funny it made the same sound when I first brought it to them, a rebuild and new converter it went away) said they could change starter for outrages price. Still polite and 2nd guessing my own opinion because they are supposed to be “professionals “. few weeks of driving rpm pulsing begins to get even worse. I record videos consult with another mechanic, he says torque converter is locking and unlocking. Bring it back and again another excuse not to touch it and blame DOD and charge me $250 to change ECU. They said fix. The next day I pick it up with no change at all. Had it hooked up to find all kinds of TCM perimeters changed including line pressure and stuff I don’t think has to do with (DOD) but maybe it does I don’t know but brought it back even more money in to this warranty transmission rode with a tech showed him what it does and when it will do it and his response was ( that may be a torque converter issue) left it with them again 4th time to have to find a ride there and back very inconvenient with my schedule this time i was told ”all bank 2 misfire, all cylinders “ recommended plug change. I changed all plugs and hooked up to multiple scanners, cheap one to an expensive snap on and funny no current misfire no stored inputs of misfire watched live data no misfire while driving like I was told. I’m currently 1,000 miles under warranty mile wise and don’t even want to bring it back to these idiots and I’m stuck 5k into a transmission that pulses when slight throttle to just maintain a speed. I hate driving it every day. It’s unbearable to drive how bad it has gotten and now shifting feels funny. Im over trying to get rides to and from for drop off and pick up, I work night shift and they are closed my days off, just for them to make another excuse for the problem. It’s doing the same exact thing it was when I bought it and took it to them and they had no problem tearing it apart to find the issue but now it’s warranty work so everything they can do to not touch it… pathetic. keep a piece of mind and take yours somewhere else.

I don't normally do reviews but I wanted share my experience with this shop and Daniel. They did a great job replacing my transmission and reaching out to ask me about a couple of issues they notice when removing my transmission. They took care of these items during the process without charging me additional labor just the cost of the parts. They also turned this around in a few days. Fantastic job guys - Thanks.
