I'm an experienced technician, I brought my vehicle in for a wheel swap. I brought my custom lug nuts as the originals are too big. They are aluminum, very sensitive. I told the manager if he can torque them down by hand, so they won't damage them. He said he would turn the pressure down from his compressor??? It didn't make sense. They ended up damaging the lug nuts and didn't want to pay for them.
